Today we're going to review part number AM90054. This is the Americana, half-inch by twenty, stainless steel, trailer wheel lug nut. This lug nut is constructed of a steel, and it has an outer cap that is stainless steel. It give you maximum durability and corrosion resistant. It is designed to fit wheel bolts that are half inch by twenty, and basically that means the diameter of the bolt is a half inch, and 20 threads per inch. You can also see it has the 60 degree cone to it, to fit the 60 degree taper on the wheels. The length on this, this is a closed end.
Total length on this, overall length is going to be right at 1 and a quarter inches. It does require a hex head size, or a socket size of 13/16ths, I happen to have, I pulled a socket of 13/16ths, and you can see it fits right on for removing and installing. The other nice thing is, let me show you here, I pulled a trailer wheel, and you can see a lot of the trailer wheels just have a normal open end lug nut that's on there to hold it on. When you use this one, it sort of adds a little nice finish to it. It has a closed end, it's a little bit taller, it makes it easier to grip with your socket. That should do it for the review on part number AM90054, the Americana, half inch by twenty, stainless steel trailer wheel lug nut.

I have previously used e-trailer for a hitch for my BMW, a power lift for my travel trailer and new ball and leveling bars for my travel trailer and now hubs and nuts for my travel trailer. These are the nicest looking lug nuts I have seen. I put them on my Jeep Cherokee to match the aluminum rims. This is the only place that doesn't sell chrome lugs. Chrome don't get you home. Perfect replacement from my factory lugs.

Pathetic and worthless.
These lug nuts come are two pieces of metal (the part with with threads, and the stainless steel portion where you put your socket). When going through the torque sequence on my trailer (~50 ft/lbs, then ~70 ft/lbs, then ~90 ft/lbs), the stainless steel part bent under the stress of the 70 ft/lbs mark. I was barely able to get them off, and happened with two of the ten lug nuts I bought. One might be a manufacturing flaw, two on the same day sounds like a design flaw that needs to be reworked.
Do NOT buy this product.

Splurged for these to replace the standard lug nuts on our old travel trailer in our salt air climate. Was able to convince the budget committee at home that this was a worthwhile addition. Did not tell the budget committee that the same result could have been achieved with the Napa never-seize on my workshop bench. Oh yes, I did add the never-seize to the threads to the studs under each of these stainless steel beauties.

Bought these for my utility trailer. (I bought some last year for my snowmobile trailer as well). I dabbed a little anti-seize grease on my studs and spun them on. With the end of the stud covered the grease doesn't wash off and the studs don't rust. Makes removal easier later on.

Purchased an extra set of stainless lug nuts and a set of extra chrome plated lug nuts for my AM22319HWT wheels after noticing a couple of the original chrome plated lug nuts were showing signs of corrosion. Shipping was amazingly fast for standard shipping. Communication and customer service ahead of the purchase were also superb. I use my beloved classic Whaler in saltwater, so I can't truly expect trailer components to age as they would in freshwater. Wheels look great and have held up pretty well considering what I subject them to. All in all, very satisfied.

Replaced stock lugs on boat trailer after purchase of aluminum rims so bolt would protrude from rim so no need to carry a deep socket and lug wrench. I believe the closed bolt and stainless steel will retard rust from marine environment conditions.

OK, they're lug nuts... They fit fine and look pretty good. Not as shiny as chrome. Didn't realize that just the cap is Stainless. I was hoping for solid stainless so no rust would develop ever. However, the part that usually starts rusting is where the lug wrench contacts the point of the nut. Hopefully this will eliminate that problem. So far I'm happy with this product and shipping was a breeze.

There's another seller with a similar name--check their reviews OUTSIDE of their sites--you'll find that you don't want to use them; they feature very low prices but the reviews suggest that you won't be happy. Bought these lug nuts, if the socket isnt a PERFECT fit, the CAP will spin, and you cannot get them off! Wasn't very fun this past weekend on the side of the road with a flat trying to get them off! Be cautious.....

When removing the nut, use only a six-point lug nut socket. I made the mistake of using a 12-point socket although it was the correct size and the outer cap slipped on the inner nut I was then hooped! I then had to cold-chisel the SS cap off and then work damn hard to get the inner nut off. Lesson learned use only the correct tool.

The Americana Trailer Wheel Lug Nut - Stainless Steel, # AM90054, do have a stainless steel cap. The inside (threads) are not stainless steel but do have a corrosion resistant coating.
