Is this right for you? Product Expert Kathleen M says:
Yes, if you:
Tow a couple times a year and need a basic but sturdy weight distribution system
Want to avoid the hassle of disconnecting anything to back your rig up or to tow in the rain
Have a trailer with 800 lbs – 1200 lbs of tongue weight
No, if you:
Travel through areas with very high winds where you'll need every bit of sway control available
Have a van or low-riding car that requires more ground clearance than you can get with round bars
Hate noise - the steel on steel brackets can create a racket, especially during turns
The rigid brackets in this weight distribution hitch provide steel-on-steel friction to help keep your trailer in line. Ultimately, this helps to prevent and correct sway for a smooth ride. Adjustable shank and 2-5/16" hitch ball included. Great Prices for the best weight distribution hitch from Blue Ox. Create a more stable ride for your tow vehicle and trailer with a weight distribution hitch. Adding spring bars to your towing system applies leverage, which transfers the load that is pushing down on the rear of your vehicle to all the axles on both your tow vehicle and your trailer, resulting in an even distribution of weight throughout. The result is a smooth, level ride, as well as the ability to tow the maximum capacity of your hitch.
Selecting a Weight Distribution System
The tongue weight rating is the most important factor in determining which size weight distribution system you should use. If the bars of the system you choose are rated too high for your setup, they will create a rigid ride, which can result in a bouncing trailer. If, on the other hand, the bars are not rated high enough, the system will be unable to properly distribute the weight, rendering it virtually useless.
To determine the proper weight rating for a weight distribution system, you must first determine your trailer's tongue weight. Then add to that the weight of the cargo behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. These two measurements make up the tongue weight rating for a weight distribution system.

Review from a similar 2-Point Weight Distribution in Weight Distribution Hitch
There was a UPS delivery problem with my initial order. The response from etrailer was fantastic, prompt responses and very quick shipping on the follow up order. Parts are all in good condition and accounted for. This appears to be a very nicely designed and sturdy hitch. Can't wait to test it.1482931

The Blue Ox is exactly what I needed for my 2018 Titan to pull my Ozark 1650 without even knowing its back there. It sets up easy and does make a difference even with an ultralight camper. Makes long trips with my travel trailer painless. I had an issue with a damaged package that wasn't received as it was sent back. I called eTrailer immediately to find out the issue and was met with wonderful customer service. I was instantly relieved to find that during the phone conversation (Ashley? not sure of her name) I was already booked to get the same Blue OX WDH rushed to me. This saved me from scrapping my weekend camping plans and showed the high level of professionalism and expertise that etrailer brings to the table. I WILL ALWAYS give my business to etrailer for this very reason.1389085

Review from a similar 2-Point Weight Distribution in Weight Distribution Hitch
Best hitch for E-Pro 16BH by far. I have towed my camper with 2021 F-150 for a few months without this hitch. Not bad but let me say that with this Blue Ox things have improved dramatically. Everything is level and sway has reduced significantly. I chose this hitch due to price as well as the the trailer tongue set up of my Flagstaff E-Pro 16BH propane and battery configuration. I assume same for E-Pro 16BH and GeoPro 16BH as these are the same build. I had to remove my propane tray to install this but things fit like a glove and was able to re-install the tray and tanks without having to relocate anything. The install instructions mention measurements from the center of the receiver which I found to be a slightly long for my trailer- see pics with the 20" and 24" marks1342777

Review from a similar 2-Point Weight Distribution in Weight Distribution Hitch
Love this hitch! Looked at the higher cost ones, went with this one. 1st trip was a short one. Real test was a 2 week vacation to Colorado from Louisiana. The wind across north Texas is no joke!!!!! I seen other trailers swaying all over the road. Was able to keep my speed with minimal sway and movement. I could not imagine what that drive is like without a WD system.1390111

Review from a similar 2-Point Weight Distribution in Weight Distribution Hitch
This is a very good weight distribution hitch for light weight trailers. Installation was fairly simple, but can be cumbersome if you have to make any changes. Using a flat level surface and a tape measure is key. Recommend you get a tongue jack stand along with this, otherwise you’ll have a difficult time raising the trailer enough to get the arms on. Keeping it from being 5 stars, the packaging was absolutely awful. Multiple holes in the box that were taped up, parts had banged around inside the box chipping some of the paint. Hopefully this gets corrected in the future.1313282

Review from a similar 2-Point Weight Distribution in Weight Distribution Hitch
The parts were all included and quality built. It was simple to install and easy to read instructions. Once I installed the product, I drove around the block and could not tell the trailer was even on the back of the truck. It has smoothed out the towing.1308995

See what our Experts say about this Blue Ox Weight Distribution Hitch
I don't have the length of the spring bar arms on the Blue Ox 2-Point Weight Distribution System like part # BLU75FR but I can tell you that the frame brackets will need to be installed between 25-27" back on the frame from the center of the coupler. view full answer...
Yes, the shank on the Blue Ox 2-Point Weight Distribution System part # BLU75FR can be flipped. If installed in the rise position it will provide up to 10.32" and 2.44" if in the drop position. view full answer...
The correct size Blue Ox 2-Point Weight Distribution System for a Palomino Puma 28DBFQ is indeed part # BLU75FR. It's rated for more than the trailer weighs but this will give you more room for error or just more wiggle room if you decide to load the trailer heavier. You'll want the system to be overrated rather than underrated so all will be good. Plus, if you upgrade trailers you might still be covered with the same system. view full answer...
Yes, a 1,000 lb tongue weight weight distribution system will work great on a Forest River Wildwood 26DBUD with a dry tongue weight of 795 lbs. That said, if you wanted some more room for error or the ability to upgrade trailers down the line you could also use a 1,200 lb tongue weight weight distribution system and that's what I recommend. For this, the Blue Ox 2-Point Weight Distribution System part # BLU75FR is a great system with built-in sway control and it has everything you need... view full answer...
2-point sway controls are built into weight distribution systems. A weight distribution hitch is a system designed to create a level, stable ride when you tow a trailer. It will help keep your towing setup level and make sure the weight of your trailer doesn't cause undue stress on your vehicle. I have linked a couple articles about sway control, weight distribution hitches, and the benefits of using these systems.
I recommend the Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution with Sway Control... view full answer...
Yes, the 2-5/16" ball that comes on the Blue Ox 2-Point Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control # BLU75FR comes torqued to spec from the factory.
After the first use I do recommend rechecking the torque specification of all of the bolts as well as the 2-5/16" ball to ensure that they remain tight.
Also be sure to grab an extra set of the Replacement Spring Bar Retaining L-Pins # BLU25QR to leave with the trailer as they seem to find a way of disappearing when you need them. view full answer...
I would be happy to help!
Actually to find the correct weight distribution hitch for your cargo trailer with a 7000lb GVWR you will want to find its total tongue weight, as that will tell you which weight spring bars you need to properly redistribute the weight.
Total tongue weight is the tongue weight of your fully loaded and ready to tow trailer plus the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. The easiest way to get an accurate tongue weight measurement is with... view full answer...
We have weight distribution systems that have a wide enough range for 600 and 1,000 lbs tongue weight but the Blue Ox part # BLU75FR has too high of a range for the 600 lb side. Instead you'd want the Reese kit part # RE44FR which has a range from 600 to 1,150 lbs and is overall pretty similar. view full answer...
The best way to match your trailer with a weight distribution system is by the tongue weight of your trailer; your trailer tongue weight should be at least 10% and no more than 15% of the GVWR. Assuming that you load the trailer so you're in that range then you'll have roughly 800-lbs to 1200-lbs total tongue weight, so I recommend using the Blue Ox 2-Point Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control - 6-Hole Shank - 10K GTW, 1.2K TW # BLU75FR. This weight distribution system is designed for trailers... view full answer...
The maximum amount of drop for the 6-hole shank is 1-1/2 inches for the Blue Ox system you asked about:
- Blue Ox 2-Point Weight Distribution with Sway Control # BLU75FR
This system fits 2 inch receivers and is designed for total tongue weights between 800 lbs and 1,2000 lbs. If you need more drop you can get up to 4-1/2 inches by adding a different shank, the Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution Shank # BXW4003. view full answer...
The Blue Ox WD system part # BXW1500 is most likely going to have too high of a tongue weight range for the weight of your trailer that you mentioned. The part # BLU75FR would most likely have a better tongue weight range at 800-1,200 lbs. If you use a system that is rated too high you most likely will end up with a really harsh ride quality. view full answer...
According to the installation instructions, the torque specification for the 2-5/16" ball that comes with the Blue Ox 2-Point Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control - 6-Hole Shank - 10K GTW, 1.2K TW item # BLU75FR is 260 ft lbs.
The socket you will need is the 1-7/8" 12pt Thin Walled Socket - 3/4" Drive - Chromium-Vanadium Steel item # ALL643216. view full answer...
Blue Ox does not offer a version of their 2 Point WD system part # BLU75FR that fits a 2-1/2 inch hitch so best option is going to be to get shank for that hitch size with the WD like with the # BXW4028. view full answer...
Though the Curt Friction Sway Control # 17200 will help prevent sway, it is not my personal preference. This is due to them needing to be disconnected when reversing, require drilling to install, and will make quite a bit of noise. Something like the Reese Sway-Control Bracket for 2" Ball Mounts # RP26003 will also be needed to get this type of system working.
With all that being said, I really do prefer weight distribution systems. Something like the Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution... view full answer...
You will be able to use the Extended Weight Dist Shank # EQ90-02-4600 which is 14" long from the hitch pin hole center to the bolt hole center for the hitch head. You can use this measurement to determine if you will have enough room for your tailgate to now clear your Blue Ox weight distribution hitch. This shank is compatible with the TrackPro # BLU77FR, SwayPro # BLU66FR and 2-Point # BLU75FR weight distribution hitches. view full answer...
Yes, the Blue Ox 2-Point Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control - 6-Hole Shank item # BLU75FR will work with a 6" C channel trailer frame like the one on your Big Tex 14ET-22. This system only has 2 point sway control and is the lowest model Blue Ox offers so you shouldn't have high expectations for it. With the weight of your trailer you will still experience a decent amount of sway. Instead, I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control - 12,000 lbs GTW,... view full answer...
While you can still use the Blue Ox 2-Point Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control # BLU75FR without the weight distribution bars, I recommend using a lighter set of spring bars. You can use the Replacement Spring Bars # BLU94XR with a trailer that has 400-600lbs of tongue weight. Or the Replacement Spring Bars # BLU44XR for a tongue weight between 600-800lbs. This will allow you to maintain a level ride and the sway control to stay safe while you are towing.
A set of Replacement L-Brackets... view full answer...
Yes, we do have a compatible shank for the Blue Ox 2-Point Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control item # BLU75FR. These shanks have the standard 1-1/4" hole spacing so they are compatible with many weight distribution systems.
For a 7 hole option you will want the Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution Shank for 2" Hitches item # BXW4000. This shank has a total height of 10" and a total vertical adjustment of 8-3/4".
We have a 9 hole shank option as well it is the Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution... view full answer...
The RoadActive Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit item # RAS3611-Y you referenced will address any sagging issues that are caused by your trailer. The system also increases stability, handling, and control by improving traction and reducing sway. Without knowing specifically what model you have I'll use the Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount item # 325-GH-313 as an example. The adjustable ball mount helps with road shock caused by bumps and potholes but won't work with a weight distribution... view full answer...
I have a possible solution, but none of the 14-16" extensions have a high enough capacity. The only thing that comes close is the Gen-Y # GY89SR which has a gross towing weight of 10,000 lbs, but the max tongue weight is only 500 lbs. This would also reduce the capacity of your hitch by 50% like many hitch extenders do.
If you can handle it being slightly shorter, what you could use instead is the Brophy Ball Mount for 2" Hitch # BH20. This is 13-1/4" long and has the capacity you need.... view full answer...
