Today we're going to review part number BWGNXA4685. This is the B&W 4 inch offset ball for the B&W turnover ball gooseneck trailer hitch, part number BWGNRK1309. This offset ball will move the pivot point of your trailer 4 inches rearward to provide additional cab clearance. This does work exclusively with the B&W turnover ball gooseneck hitch part number BWGNRK1309. The square ball base will prevent the ball from turning in the hitch during hookup, is made of a sturdy steel construction and is made in the USA. The ball size on this is 2 and 5/16ths in diameter and again, the offset from the center of the square base to the center of the ball is 4 inches. Just to give you an idea here, put a ruler on it.
That'll give you your 4 inches. The weight capacity on this offset ball is 20,000 pounds, has a vertical low limit or pin weight capacity of 5,000 pounds. Basically what I want to do here is I also pulled the hitch that it fits on, that BWGNRK1309, and I have it right here on the table. I just want to show you how it does install. This is the gooseneck hitch designed for the Dodge Rams. It has the in bed latch handle that opens and closes to a pin to get into the ball.
If we pull this ball out, you can take this offset ball, drop it right into the square opening, and as you can see it would move the ball's location from here 4 inches rearward to the rear of your vehicle to provide additional cab clearance. Then you just turn the handle and it would lock the pin and lock this into place and then you're ready to go. That should do it for the review on part number BWGNXA4685. Just received this item only to find that IT DOESN'T FIT. The hole center on this item is 1 3/4" from bottom of plate and the pin on my B&W hitch is 2" below the top of the hitch (so it's off by 1/4"). I have a Dodge Ram 3500 dually and this is specifically for a Dodge. HOWEVER, apparently a different model # B&W hitch was installed by the previous owner on my particular truck. SO, I need to return this and get the one for a different model hitch (offset ball #BWGNXA4085). This means the offset ball will be sitting about 3/4" above the bed of the truck which doesn't thrill me, so I will probably put a support piece under that part even though I'm sure they will say I don't need it.
MEMO TO ETRAILER: You should mention prominently in your description that YOUR specific Dodge Ram may have a different hitch and to measure carefully before ordering.

Although I haven’t had the gooseneck hitch or the extender installed on my truck yet, I just want to respond to the customer service I received. I spoke with two different ladies over two days and they help me figure out which hitch I needed for my truck and were extremely helpful. I was told I would receive the hitch in about a week but it showed up two days later. I’m very happy with the company and would definitely use them again

I bought this to extend the ball close to the axle on my 13 Ram mega cab. I have the B&W hitch installed. It is built really well. Only problem I had was that the shank on the extender do sent fit far enough down in receiver for the pin to latch and had to return it. Just writing the review incase someone else has had this problem.

Pulled a Featherlite 4 horse slant load trailer with a sleeping berth 3 times to Arizona from Illinois this year with a 6' 4" box and had no problem with turning radius because of this ball. Works well!

Excellent service and very knowledgeable about their products. Quick delivery. Product is VERY heavy duty weighing nearly 20 pounds. Trailer is in the shop but will add to the review once I have a chance to hook up trailer and see if this adds the clearance between the nose of the trailer and cab of the truck that I need because of having a short bed.

This product is exactly what I needed to offset our new “Reese Goose-box” pin box to better accommodate the clearance for the fuel tank and tool box in the bed of our truck.
