Quiet, Secure Ride
The 1" thick jaw on the Companion OEM is precision machined to provide a tight, sturdy connection. And unlike slide-bar models, the rounded 2-piece jaw on this fifth-wheel trailer hitch inhibits rattle and movement by securely wrapping around your trailer's king pin, resulting in easier hookup and a safer, quieter ride.
In addition to the sturdy jaw, the Companion has durable polyurethane bushings built in to provide a smoother, more comfortable towing experience. These bushings sit on top of the pivot arms that support the fifth-wheel head. Because the head is resting on a padded area, it is able to pivot without clanking. The ability of the head to pivot - both front to back and side to side - along with the trailer also helps to limit the chucking that may occur with a more static hitch.
Non-Binding Latch Handle
The dual jaw on the Companion OEM is operated by a simple-to-use cam-action handle. This handle allows you to quickly and easily release the jaws on the hitch, even if you are on uneven terrain. If any binding does occur between your truck and trailer, the jaws may remain closed after you move the handle to the open position. But because the handle is unlatched, there is nothing keeping the jaws closed except for the binding pressure. Therefore, simply driving your truck forward will be enough to force the jaws to open.
The cam-action handle is held in the closed position with the included pin and clip. For extra security, you can replace the pin with a sturdy padlock. The shackle on the lock you choose should have a diameter of 5/16", height of 3", and a width of 2-1/4".
To install the Companion OEM, first set up the Companion's pivot arms. The arms are what allow the hitch to be adjusted front to back as well as up and down for optimal positioning. As a result, this hitch can accommodate the height of your trailer and also help to give you the cab clearance needed to execute turns while towing.
To adjust either the height of the hitch or the fore/aft positioning, just attach the hitch's pivot arms in the desired location on the base. The above diagram gives an indication of where to mount the arms so that you get the height and the cab clearance that you need.
Then, when the hitch head is fully assembled, simply place the hitch in the bed of your truck, lining the base up with the receiver sockets in the bed. Rotate all 4 handles on the hitch base out so that the built-in puck receivers are in the correct position to install in the sockets. Once the base is lined up, fold the handles in until they are in the locked position and secure them with the included pins.
The hitch head installs on top of the pivot arms. When you have the head in position, simply secure it to the arms with the included pins.

Head can be easily separated from frame by removing both quick pins to lift out of truck in 2 pieces. I plan on installing an electric hoist from Harbor freight in my garage to lift hitch in and out of truck in one piece. Definitely would recommend this hitch to anyone.
great product had a patriot before this was a half hour job just had to adjust locking levers, maybe B&W should leave out the cotter pins so there not all bent after we take out to adjust. like the 2 pieces I can pic up with ease

Customer service was great and received the order in two days. Instructions were easy to follow. Installation was a breeze. Hooked up trailer to check clearance and took it for a test drive. So far I am very pleased with my purchase.
No problems with this hitch after one-year full time RV-ing. I like that it's two pieces so if I need to remove it it's doable to remove by my self. My 5th wheel has a turning point pin box that uses a wedge so I have to be dead straight on when I hookup but that is a pin box issue not a hitch issue but, if I'm not straight the hitch won't latch properly.
Just as expected! I had researched which brand hitch to buy and settled on this one. Easy to assemble and install. However wish i had bought the slider version because I have a short bed truck. But this was my first 5th wheel. Life is a learning process.
I installed my B&W Companion into the 5th wheel truck bed package, knowing after viewing several YouTube videos,
that it should work just fine, without a slider type. My 2017 Ford F350 Super Duty 6.7L Diesel crew cab short box (6'-9") with our 2018 #3120RL Montana 5th wheel trailer work great with the B&W Companion. I estimate our max turn backing angle at 85°(don't know why I'd ever cut that tight anyway). A 5er front nose will need a radius and be tapered to make this work so great in my opinion. The Companion mounts easily into the puck system and splits into upper and lower halves for easy lifting. See my attached pictures.

After a season of many trips, we are pleased with the B&W Companion hitch, since our 5er has a radius front end, we have plenty enough room to back into our camping sites. The hitch itself articulates in all four axis very well and is quite silent will running.
The product itself is wonderful, it has to do with the shipping time, I was confused about , talked to three people two people gave me a good answer one didn't seem to not care much and the last one Theresa that I had spoke to was awesome took care of me called me back I would give her a five-star rating any day.

Love it glad I purchased
This has been an excellent hitch for my wife and I. We have pulled our 45 foot fifth wheel across the country with no problems. Assembly was easy and straightforward. It feels secure when towing. I will definitely be considering another B&W hitch from etrailer in the future.
After much consideration I bought the B&W hitch,I am in the fabrication industry and this looks to be built pretty good, it supports good, it hooks up easy,there is no questions when it locks in, pretty quiet when towing. Very happy with it

B and W after one year and several cross state tows is working great . Would recommend
Has performed flawlessly over a year of heavy use, pulling our 17,000LB fifth wheel over 20,000 miles. Easy to couple/decouple, easy to maintain.
Bad banging issues. No one from Etrailer will call you back. Spoke to different staff on phone wanted pictures. I sent pictures and videos and still no call back

I contacted B&W. They sent new puck system hitch. I sent existing hitch to them in return. I received call from B&W few days later and they found i had a defective hitch
We RV full time, pulling a 5th wheel. We have not had a single problem with our B&W hitch.
Package arrived well before expected and was packaged very well. No issues or damage once inspected. Direction for install was excellent and very easy to follow. Very heavy duty and packaged in a way that the weight was not all in one package. Made it much easier to manage. Very pleased with the product and highly recommend to others who are looking for a Quality fifth wheel hitch. I did go heavier than I needed for my F250 Super Duty but may later be moving it to a F350 Super Duty. Also still have the use of my Bed cover without removing upper Slide plate of the hitch.
Shipping was fast! Paid for the 3 day but it came a day sooner than scheduled. The hitch was easy to install on my 2017 F-350 with pre-installed fifth wheel pkg (8’ bed). I also tow a 36’ keystone carbon toyhauler and I use the middle setting for the hitch and it sits level. Hitch is quiet and makes the ride smooth!

I started installing around 5:30pm, was hooking up to 5th wheel and testing at 7:15pm... Couple of interruptions would have been quicker. My Rep, Chris W. was extremely helpful, pleasure working with her! Whole unit is quality IMHP... Being safety freak I added some extra lock washers & nuts to flange plate bolts... Bolt sticks out roughly 3/4 inch after torqueing to 80lbs. per instructions. Added washer and nut to complete very solid connection... I could not be more happy or impressed with whole operation... Extremely happy with the B&W Companion provided by etrailer the videos as well as the packaged instructions are precise. I chose the right setting the first time around (yea) all in all the hitch is solid as they come. On a small note locks would be nice part of package.Towing is a breeze and I will definitely recommend etrailer and b&w hitch to all. Customer service is great and with timely response to my emails.
World Largest Mobile Kitchen B&W Companion OEM 5th-Wheel Hitch for Ford Super Duty Prep Package - Dual Jaw - 20,000 lbs - BWRVK3300 is the most innovative towing products I have seen in a long time. It fit into the Ford hitch system with no problems. It is a shame that Ford, Chevy, and Dodge cannot have a universal mounting like the receiver hitches so that they fit all trucks. It is designed to be either directly above axle or 4 inches ahead.

I bought this to go with my Enterprise Leasing Ford Truck. They are talking about sending me a Dodge. The regional manager for Enterprise truck inventory is planning on coming to your location to see about getting a Dodge Carrier. Still like the unit.!!!!!!!
I opened the two cartons two days ago and found that all the parts were included with no shipping damage. I highly recommend you get a fiend to help with the build and installation of the hitch.
The build instructions and documentation are very well done and relatively easy to follow. Read and familiarize yourself with entire documentation before you start. Our built time, start to finish was approximately two hours.
This hitch is the best design and easiest to use compared to other fifth wheel hitches. I highly recommend the B&W Companion hitch. Spend the money and get the best!

Rugged Construction and simple operation. I feel confident that when backing if the lever closes the jaws of the hitch have correctly engaged the pin block of the fifth wheel.

First, I was blown away that a hitch could be ordered on line and be in the bed of my Ford pick up truck this fast! When I placed the order, I was informed it was going to be here in 2 days. From north east MO? Sure enough, UPS pulled out of my drive and 40 minutes later, it was assembled and in place. There were 4 small dings in the paint caused by UPS- the outer carton had a hole punched in it from handling in transit. The instructions were simple, the two parts were easily handled by me- a 74 year old disabled guy (yes, I lifted both parts up myself), and they easily went into place.
