Powder coated steel is sturdy and corrosion resistant.Ordered this hitch for my new 2022 Passport Trailsport on a Saturday night and received it the following Thursday. Packaging was great and there was no damage to the hitch.
Took about 30 minutes to mount it. Highly recommend a second person to thread the first 2 bolts while you hold it in place. After that put some orange loctite on, spun the bolts in with an impact wrench and followed with my 1/2" torque wrench.
The hitch is strong, well built with nice welds and a nice finish. Bolts provided are high quality 10.9 grade with some beefy washers.
Very happy with this purchase and know I can get that last dump load run in before winter.
The install of the hitch was easy, and it looks great. The best part of the whole thing was working with etrailer. Their customer service was above and beyond. They were in contact with me the whole way with a personalized email when the order was placed, when it shipped, and when it was delivered. And the price was so affordable. An OEM receiver from Honda was going to be $230 just in freight. The shipping from etrailer was free. Overall a great experience!
Awesome hitch, great qualty and it shipped right on time. Awesome service looks great on my wife's Honda Passport. It was easy to install with 2 jack stands I had it done in about 30 mins.
Randy - 06/01/2022I was really impressed when it arrived. I was expecting something of much less quality and durability. But when it arrived, it was strong and beefy, able to hold much more than the bicycle I intended to use it for. Now I might even think about a trailer someday! You are grade "A", from helping me on the phone to delivery before I expected, to the ease of installing it by myself on the driveway.
etrailer is the only place for me. I lease a new vehicle every few years for work and I always buy my hitch from this site. Never disappointed.
What is there not to like. My wife and I with a small hydraulic jack to help stabilize installed this hitch on our new Honda Passport in under a half hour. I did have the benefit of a 1/2” impact gun. Oh and I am 74 yrs old. This hitch is very nice and everything is tucked under the vehicle so all you see is the receiver tube.
2022 Honda Passport. Hitch is more expensive than hitches for other vehicles by about $49 in some cases.
Not much difference between hitches except for fitment.

Mounting was very easy as demonstrated in online video for the hitch.
The Curt C13421 is a perfect fit for recent Honda Passports. On my 2021 Passport Touring, the remote activation using one's foot to open the tailgate does not work as well after installation. It still works about 50% of the time, if one does the "kick" just to the left side of the receiver opening.
etrailer said the hitch was in stock when I ordered, but the ship date was 2 weeks later. I called to inquire why, and the said their shipping dept was way behind. However, they did price match a lower price I found on-line, and the hitch did ship after about 10 days. The UPS delivery was prompt, and I am, overall, pleased with quality of the Curt hitch and the service I received from etrailer.

This trailer hitch was machined perfectly to fit all 4 bolts with clearance… no ‘file to fit’ effort required. Professionally fabricated and machined. Easy install.
Very heavy, but easy to install. Barely noticeable when nothing hitched, it’s pretty much flush with bumper.
It was heavy and needed 2 people to install but it was and easy DIY. It has been very reliable and extremely happy with the purchase. No issues after several moves with max loads.
The nuts that are welded into the frame need lots of cleaning . I would perfer a tap to clean the treads

I like the clean look after installation - receiver is very close to bumper cover and there are no trailer wiring mounting brackets visible (in fact, none at all on this hitch). I do not happen to need trailer wiring since I only intend to use the hitch for hitch mounted accessories - primarily a bike rack.
This receiver fit perfectly. It is for the 2021 Honda passport sport. There is one online that looks the exact same but is a different model number and will not fit the 2021 passport. I bought it by mistake and had to return it. Shipping was fast and customer service is great. The website is an excellent source for all trailer hitch info. For one person installation tip… I used a small chain and s hook to lift and hook one side then bolted the other side and then unhooked the chain, held in place to get a bolt started. Took me about 30 minutes. Just take your time.
Hitch is very much heavy duty with good finish. The only negative is that the three mounting holes on right side of hitch (flange) didn’t line up with frame rail weldnut holes of vehicle. I had to file 1/64” from holes in order to thread mounting bolts.

The trailer wiring harness took more time. The factory connector was taped up tight to a nearby harness. Had to cut the tape to free up connector which required partial removal of the drivers rear interior panel. Overall easy install.

This hitch receiver was extremely high quality and easy to install as advertised. The wiring kit was also easy enough to plug in to my existing wiring harness. This is my second hitch receiver purchased from etrailer and I'm very satisfied!
Arrived quickly as promised, nicely boxed. A great value compared to the cost of a factory Honda hitch. I bought the hitch primarily to use with my Rockymounts Westslope 2 bike rack after purchasing a new 2021 Honda Passport. Keep in mind that when installing a factory Honda hitch, the rear bumper has to be removed, so it's not trivial to do yourself when going the factory hitch route. The Curt hitch is great alternative to the factory Honda hitch because the bumper does not need to be removed and the Curt hitch is mostly hidden.
The hitch arrived at about 4PM, and I had it installed before dinner using a floor jack and a couple jack stands to stabilize the receiver. So maybe 20-30 minutes. If you don't have these, you'll likely need two people to simplify installation. It is heavy to lift and bolt in without some sort of assistance. And after installation, I added a Curt cover, and it looks factory with only the receiver seen below the bumper. This keeps the original clean looking valance in place.
The Honda factory hitch sits about an 1 3/4 inches higher than the Curt hitch, but for me, I have the AWD model which sits probably the same amount higher than the 2WD. The Curt hitch actually appears to sit about the same height as the exhaust to be honest. Maybe slightly lower.
I am quite pleased with the appearance and how well the Curt hitch works with my Westslope 2 bike rack. I also saved quite a bit of money by ordering it from etrailer and installing the Curt hitch myself instead of going the Honda factory route.
Fast delivery. Well made and very easy to install. Took about 1/2 hour.
