This fully welded trailer hitch receiver bolts onto your vehicle's frame with no welding required. Powder coated steel is sturdy and corrosion resistant.I was going to purchase, and have installed, a receiver hitch locally for my 2020 Hyundai Palisade but could not find a shop that could do it in time for a weekend trip. So, I decided I would purchase this unit from etrailer.com and do the installation myself. I received the unit within a few days which was great. I watched the installation video ahead of time to familiarize myself with the installation process.
I must say that it was super easy, and the directions were spot on. The entire install took me less than an hour. It would be helpful to have two people when it comes time to lift the receiver into place, but I managed to do it myself. Tools needed are a ratch or open-end wrench, plastic prybar or screwdriver, and a rubber mallet.
The receiver is solid and looks great. Clearance seems the same and I have not scraped the bottom of the receiver or anything hitched to it on anything so far. I have a steep street entrance apron and have not had any problems. I mount a 4-bike platform rack on it and it goes in easy and feels solid in the receiver.
Very happy with this product and the purchase process.
JT - 12/22/20215 STAR +++ rating. etrailer.com had the lowest price I found on the Internet and Super FAST shipping!!! I ordered the hitch on Saturday morning and received it on Tuesday before noon. It arrived in a heavy duty carboard box with no shipping damage. Install was pretty simple, except for torqueing down the bolts on the exhaust side. Took one to hold a wrench and one to Tighten the nut. However, for being 67 years old I was pretty happy I could handle the install with a little help, especially lifting it into place(with help) and putting the first couple of bolts through the frame on each side. I like the clean hidden look much better than the Hyundai factory hitch. I added the 4 wire connector bracket to the bottom of the bumper cover by drilling two 3/16" holes in the lower black trim and attached with #10 1/2" bolts and nuts. I like the way that everything looks and no wires hanging down. I did reverse the bolt on the driver's side that was not able to go through because of a plastic piece being in the way. Overall I very pleased with the Curt hitch and with etrailer.com
We installed the CURT C13427 Hitch and CURT CU94FR Wiring Harness in my 2020 Hyundai Palisade. The hitch is very heavy. It takes two people to position it and put the first bolts in. Once you've got one in on each side, the rest is easy. The supplied parts were high quality and fit perfectly. The video showing how to do it on the Palisade was very good, but so too were the written instructions.
The CURT Wiring Harness was also easy to install and came with good instructions. The only thing I did different was wrap the 4 wires leading from the circuit box to the trailer plug in spiral harness wire wrap. I didn't like seeing those wires out and somewhat exposed.
I've seen the Hyundai / KIA factory towing packages. I think this combination from CURT and eTrailer is every bit as good if not better. And it cost a lot less than buying through Hyundai.
Wayne E - 05/30/2021I give this 4 stars because I feel like the directions could be a little better. My biggest issue was on the drivers side. One bolt position has a plastic nipple poking down out of the frame. I used a screwdriver to pry it to slide the bolt past. The other bolt should be installed opposite of the directions because the extra threads interfere with reinstalling the plastic tub. All in all, I’m satisfied with the materials. Look nice, appears to be good quality and took me an hour and five minutes to install!
Great instructions! Went on as-described. Holding bolts in-place while tightening/torquing was a little challenging, but doable with patience. Same with putting bottom plastic cover back on - bolts want to push it out of place - patience and a little pushing were required.
Matt - 12/31/2021The product looks great (not fitted it yet) The service? not so good!! took 3weeks and would have been more had I not cancelled the wire harness, ruined our planned weekend away because of delays and just wish the trailer hitch could have been sent the day it was ordered as it was in stock!! Sorry but not happy!! have since found the same wire kit at a lesser price and 2days out!

2020 Hyundai Palisade. So incredibly easy to install. The video walked you through all the steps and it fit perfect. I would definitely recommend this for someone looking to install their own hitch receiver.
Tyler - 06/03/2022This is the correct hitch. The DrawTite hits the valance, and deforms it, so be aware. And etrailer has the best price. My unit arrived a little messed up behind the receiver, with a gaping hole on the package, so I'd protect it in that area. Or better yet, use FedEx, instead of UPS, which always damage packages, in my personal experience. But it was very well packaged otherwise. Very pleased with the excellent service from etrailer :).
JC - 05/15/2022Easy install with minimal tools. Looks great and I love that the bar is hidden and only the receiver is visible. I think I like it better than the factory tow package I’ve seen.
Just finished installing it myself about 30 minutes ago. Other than being 71 years young. Getting up and down from the garage floor was the hardest. 8^)
Great hitch, perfect fit, strong and well engineered! Completely hidden except receiver, perfectly designed to have the needed clearance from muffler and spare tire. Easy install with no modifications to the SUV.

This hitch and wiring harness fit perfectly. The instructions were well written and the pictures helped as well. It only took me about an hour to install. This hitch is impressively designed and built extremely well. I am 75 years old, handy and understand how to build things. I watched the installation video numerous times prior to starting the installation. Everything fit perfectly. I also obtained help to lift the hitch into place as was suggested.
The minimal exposure of the receiver is a nice feature.

This is my second Curt hitch. I installed the first one onto a Toyota Venza in 2010, when I was 62 years old. No problem! Now at 74, I realize that I should have paid a shop to install this one on my Palisade. I did have help holding it up while installing the bolts. Not too much problem. The etrailer video showed some trouble areas not mentioned in the supplied paperwork, but that was manageable. My major problem this: trying to torque the bolts to 79 foot pounds while lying on the ground and holding the nut with a wrench in my left hand while working the torque wrench on the bolt with the right. I am in pretty good shape for my age, but I had to push as hard as I could and I just reached 79 foot pounds. Bottom line: If you're old like me, pay someone else to do the job. :)
The kit and instructional video made installation a so much easier. The instructional video wasn’t exact for a 2021 Hyundia Palisade although it was a great help.
If you’re a novice (like me), I recommend you do planning before diving into it. I realized that when Hyundia “pre-wires” the tow package, it means you still need to purchase the wiring harness (~$30). Delivery goes snail mail (USPS) so figure an extra week of waiting. Preplanning would have resolved that. (I had the rest of the components.)
Bridget - 11/30/2021etrailer made this very easy. Fast shipping and the install videos were spot on. Installed this hitch on a 2021 Hyundai Palisade calligraphy edition and no modifications were needed. The hardest part was getting the exhaust hangers off. Once everything was out of the way, install the 8 bolts (but wait to tighten until they are all in). Then torque them down. Much better looking then the OEM hitch as you don’t see the full assembly but only the receiver.
I purchased this hitch from etrailer for my 2020 Hyundai Palisade and folks this hitch fit perfectly and looks good! It is even better looking than the OEM hitch Hyundai offers...the quality of this product is outstanding and I am extremely pleased with it!

This trailer hitch could not have been more of a pleasure to install. There is no fishing metal plates or nuts into the frame for bolts to go into or holes not aligning properly.
This hitch could not be made more perfectly for the Palisade nor could the installation have gone any smoother. It truly is a bolt on hitch with a lot of space to reach everything. It took me less than an hour including cleanup time.
The hitch looks fantastic as the only part you see is the receiver (totally different than Hyundai's hitch (which is more than double the price) which the entire bar is hanging down and hiding that beautiful chrome bumper! It may not be as hidden as Stealth Hitch but it is a fraction of the price.

Easy install on my 2020 Palisade. Only a few modifications I had to make in order to get everything to fit just right. I had to reverse one bolt direction (From what the pictured directions show) so it would fit into the frame hole and not conflict with the exhaust heat shield. If I had to do it again I’d probably flip all of them to not conflict with other plastic pieces. Only two quibbles: 1) the first step has removal of the spare wrong. The palisade has this weird release contraption that is actually inside the rear cargo area. 2) the new hitch interferes with the spare tire location ever so slightly, but not a real concern at all.
Looks much nicer than the factory hitch. Fairly straightforward install. My vehicle has a heat shield that the installation video didn't seem to have, and that made things a bit more difficult as the washers wouldn't fit with the heat shield in place. Was able to find a work around. One thing to note is that the receiver is recessed about an inch from the end of the bumper. I'll need an extender to keep my bike rack from scraping against the rear of the vehicle. But towing something like a trailer shouldn't be an issue.
This is the second etrailer hitch and wiring harness I’ve installed and it was simple to do. From the ordering process through their easy to use website to their installation videos it had been a great experience and I recommend them whenever someone asks me about getting a hitch for their vehicle.
