etrailer delivered on time as promised and I had no problems with the order. The product was as described and works perfectly with my Husky Centerpoint hitch. The large adjustment range lets me level my trailer when towing with my 3/4 ton Silverado. I have now towed my trailer about 15,000 miles with it and had no problems.

I an still using the shank and am very pleased with the performance. I expect to use it for many years to come.

After getting a new truck that sets a little higher I thought I would have to buy a complete new weight distribution hitch. I was able to find just the shank part at etrailer.

- C17123

It is exactly what they described it to be. Very happy with etrailer,I recommend them very highly, I put down the wrong address so i emailed them and they got it corrected with no delay on the delivery, and called to inform me they took care of it. Great place to do business with. Now I can go camping

Still working great, my camper pulls nice and level. And I still highly recommend etrailer.

After shopping around for a hitch ,I was recommended to etrailer by a friend and found exactly the hitch I needed at a much better price than all the other places that I had looked at,even for the same brand and model of hitch !!

excellent quality, worked great and was major improvement towing my race car

Exactly what I was looking for. Plenty of room for the adjustment needed. Excellent quality product, well fabricated. Very good customer service and speedy delivery time. Ordered on a Monday morning and had the part before 1pm the next day.

The part I ordered works perfect and we’re ready to begin another season of hauling our 27’ camper tomorrow.

Worked perfectly getting hitch to the right height on my enclosed trailer

- C17123

I recently bought a new truck (Ram 2500 3/4 ton). My old truck was a Ram 1500 1/2 ton. My Husky hitch was fine on the 1500 truck, but not on the 2500, it sits a LOT higher off the ground. I needed a drop hitch that fit my Husky, and you guys HAVE IT. It worked out great, first trip out today with it, everything level and no sag on truck or camper. As stated in your catalog, this Curt brand DOES fit my Husky brand, NO PROBLEM. Thank you, what a life saver on not having to buy a whole new hitch.

- C17123

UPS delivered empty box. Heavy shank fell out. etrailer had one shipped out next day. A1 customer service

- C17123

This is one heavy duty weight distribution shank. I am very happy with etrailer, Now I have all Curt equipment on the truck, and super fast delivery. A+ job thank you

- C17123

The Curt shank was exactly what I was looking for. It bolted up nicely to the Reese trunion weight dist head I've had for over 20 years. My new trailer sits perfectly level.

- C17123

This is a good drop shank if you have a truck that is leveled with oversized tires.

- C17123

I needed a weight distribution system and quickly realized that Curt was the best around. You get what you pay for so why not get the best!? Very simple to install and with the correct routine maintenance this will last forever, Shipping was fast and box was In good shape when it arrived.

- C17123

Works well just what I needed

- C17123

This hitch is what I need to complete my install on my sway distribution hitch Jim was A-1 in helping me with the different style hitches thanks again

- C17123

Very good quality, heavy duty construction and nice finish. Recently changed tow vehicle and needed to add more drop. This shank did the job.

- C17123

I needed the additional drop due to a higher sitting truck and a low travel trailer hitch. I may need to cut 2 inches off the bottom to increase the ground clearance.

- C17123

Good company, good products, and good p rices.

Still working great!

Excellent information on their question and answer page. Led me right to exactly what I needed for my f250. Was a little stressed that my other hitch didn't work with my new truck. This is perfect! Delivered quickly with excellent customer service follow up too!

- C17123

Customer service was great on this product. I needed to know the exact dimensions of the product and found all the data that I needed. Response to my email was fast and accurate. Deliver of the product was quick. I had been to other vendors and they never got back to me. I was great working with etrailer.

- C17123

I chose this one because it didn't stick out as far as the others but still had sufficient drop for my 5" lift on the Avalanche with a trunion style WD hitch (higher than bar). It's mounted on the 2nd and 3rd lower holes and I chopped off the bottom one to prevent dragging. Works great!

- C17123

I recently purchased a 2015 Tahoe and since the trailer hitch is positioned above the bumper as opposed to my 2000 Tahoe which has the hitch located below the bumper, I had to find and purchase a new receiver. I found this product at etrailer and it fits perfectly. It is compatible with the Drawtite weight distribution ball.

Great Hitch Shank, great price, Extremely fast delivery and awesome updates.

- C17123

Needed a new shank as I bought the Class 5 hitch for my dodge,, I bought the class 5 that fit under the stock hitch and wish I had not, but after thought etc,, should have just removed the class 3 and bought a different 5,., all in all worked out but a new shank because my hitch was now lower than what it was, I probably didnt need a new one because after all the measuring etc,, ( Have to go to a parking lot as I live in dirt) to make it level, worked out fine.

Still good thanks

Perfect ammount of drop for my camper to ride level behind my 2019 2wd suburban.

Adam s - 02/22/2021

- C17123

Its heavy duty and fit however the metal wasn't cleaned good before manufactured. Ot had large chunks of paint coming off that was powder coated over. I didn't buy it because of its looks but one would think it would be cleaned before welding and powder coated. Not etrailers fault because it was built in China according to the box.

  • Dimensions of the Curt Welded Weight Distribution Shank # C17123
Since manufacturers do not test their products together I don't necessarily know if they are compatible (although most shanks are universal), but I can give you the information that you need to do some measuring on your end. The Curt Welded Weight Distribution Shank # C17123 has holes that are spaced 1-1/4" apart on center and the shank itself is 2" x 2" both on the end that inserts into your hitch receiver on your 2011 GMC Yukon Denali and on the end that connects to the WD system. • How to Determine the Correct Rise or Drop Needed for a Weight Distribution Shank
If you go over the options, see link, ahead of time then you will not have to worry about returning a shank to get a different one! Basically, you will need to determine what rise or drop you will need in order to tow the trailer level and then get a shank that has the proper amount of rise or drop. I have included a link to an FAQ article that covers ball mounts but the same technique is used to determine the rise or drop needed for a weight distribution shank. Shanks for the Blue Ox...

  • How to Level Out a Truck and Trailer with Different Heights With a Weight Distribution System
With both your truck and trailer being on level ground, if you measured your truck from the ground to the ballmount and came up with 24 inches that is good. On the trailer side, if you again, measured from the level ground to the bottom of the coupler and came up with 18 inches then that is good as well. According to your calculations, the difference between the receiver and coupler height is 6 inches, therefore a 7 inch drop shank should work well. I have attached a FAQ article covering...

  • Can a Curt Weight Distribution Shank be Used with a Blue Ox Weight Distribution Head
If your Blue Ox head bolts on using 3/4 inch diameter bolts that are spaced 1-1/4 inches apart on center then you could use a different shank such as Curt shank # C17123 which has a maximum drop of 12-1/4 inches. Nearly all brands of weight distribution systems use the same dimensions for the shanks so it is not uncommon to use a Curt shank with a different brand head as long as the holes match up.

  • Maximum Trailer Weight Allowed for Curt Weight Distribution Shank # C17123
The Curt Weight Distribution Shank # C17123 does not carry a weight rating because it has enough capacity to be used with ANY Curt weight distribution system that fits a 2-inch hitch. The trailer hitch into which you insert this shank will have a specific towing capacity that should be indicated on its safety/warning sticker.

Yes, you can use Curt weight distribution shank # C17123 with the Curt 17002 round bar weight distribution system. The shank offers up to 10-1/4 inches rise of 12-1/4 inches drop. The holes to adjust the head are spaced 1-1/4 inches apart on center.

  • Shank Recommendation for a Weight Distribution System For 10 inches of Drop
Since your weight distribution system has a ball mount built into it there would be no way to use an adjustable ball mount with it. But what you might really need is a new shank for your weight distribution system that allows for drops of up to 10 inches. The Curt shank part # C17123 can do up to 12-1/4 inches of drop and should work for you as long as your current setup has holes in the shank that are 3/4 of an inch in diameter and are 1-1/4 inch apart.

  • Drop Weight Distribution Shank Recommendation for a Draw Tite Weight Distribution System
The Curt weight distribution shanks are compatible with your Draw Tite weight distribution system and would work well to provide you with more drop. The part # C17123 that you referenced measures 11-1/4 inches from the top to the bottom so this would give you 3-1/4 more inches of drop than your current shank.

  • What is the Weight Capacity of Curt Weight Distribution Shank 17123
The Curt weight distribution shank # C17123 is going to carry the same capacity as the rest of the system used with it. The highest rated Curt weight distribution systems are rated for 15,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 1,500 pounds tongue weight so that would be its limit. It doesn't have an official capacity so up to 15,000/1,500 pounds is the safe, tested limit.

  • Availability of Drop Shank for Use with Weight Distribution to Allow Trailer to Tow Level
Most likely you can just get a new weight distribution shank that has more drop so that your trailer can be towed level. If the current shank you have has 3/4 inch diameter holes that are 1-1/4 inches apart measured on center (this is a very common size, almost all systems have these dimensions), then a shank like the part # C17123 would be a great option. Some parts of weight distribution systems can be interchangeable between brands, but not heads and spring bars. We have no parts for Quality S products.
