Heavy duty ball mount and great capacities. Marked down one star due to having about 3mm of play inside of my gen 2.5 Tundra's 2inch receiver hitch. I will have to mount a set screw or find another solution for the excess play.

Not easy to find a 16k lb load rated Class IV rated ball mount for 2" hitches. Was happy to find it. My hitch is only rated to 11k lbs, but opted for this one for peace of mind. Shank and ball mount is solid steel (not bent)l. Functional load rating is printed on a sticker (not etched on the shank). Was a bit bummed about that, but for the price, thought it was worth it. Upon receipt, black paint had chipped off in some areas and required a touch-up. Made in China. If you get one of these, you will also need to buy some kind of hitch clamp/shim.

When it comes to shipping hitches and some ball mounts, it is very common for them to arrive with scratches. We recommend using a rust-oleum type paint to cover the scratchesspots. I recently installed a 18,000# DMI receiver hitch on my pickup and was looking for a similarly rated draw bar to match up with it. I use the truck on my farm for pulling heavy grain wagons and dollies. Locally the strongest draw bar I could find was 12,000# so I turned to the internet and found the heaviest rating at etrailer.com at 17,000#. After placing the order I decided I should have also ordered a compatible ball at the same time. I placed another call to etrailer with my request and the helpful order rep was able to make it happen. Very helpful customer service folks and very prompt shipping. I am well satisfied all the way around.

This item has some girth to it, which is great. I don't have to worry about bending or rusting. However, it did not come with a pin to hold the ball mount in place. I had to go out and purchase that at my local hardware store. Not a big deal, but it would be nice if it came with or as a "Other customers bought..." option.
would be 5 if not for the missing pin.

I purchased the Curt ball mount over a year ago and put it to work immediately. We have a trailer hooked to it 7 days a week and tow about 750+ miles a week per truck.
I cannot tust any light duty ball mount
to hold up to the continued use we put them through. Curt heavy duty is all we purchase for our trucks and I have never had a problem with them.

Needed a hitch and wiring for my plumbing van. Etrailer had the best selection, price, and installation videos / guides. The electrical was super easy as well as the trailer hitch installation. I did it myself without helpers on my garage floor in 20 minutes. All you need is a 3/4 inch deep socket, 1/2 ratchet, flat head screw driver and torque wrench.

This baby is HEAVY DUTY! Would probably be able to pull the empire state building and Its made from a solid chunk of steel so if you are in a bad neighborhood you can take off your hitch and use it as a weapon.

The ball mount is extremely heavy-duty, rated up to 17,000 pounds. I think it's safe to assume you don't have a torque wrench rated up to 450 foot pounds just laying around. In which case you'll never really measure it at 450. When tightening the ball you want to make sure you get the lock washer so that it's completely flat.
