Today we're going to take a quick look at the replacement 2" and 2-5/16" dual-sided hitch ball for Curt 2" adjustable ball mount. This is going to be a direct replacement from Curt for that hitch ball mount for your Curt channel-style adjustable ball mount. Now, that part number for the original kit, that's going to be available here at etrailer.com. If you just want to get a whole new set, that's going to be C45900 and that's intended to be used with a 2" hitch. So it can be used with a Class IV or Class V inch hitch. As far as our replacement ball mount here, this is going to have a 2" ball.
That's going to have a capacity of 10,000 pounds, being able to tow up to that 10,000 pounds, and then on the other side we'll have our 2-5/16" ball and that's able to tow up to 14,000 pounds.Now, the whole thing is going to be made of a zinc-plated steel so we don't have to worry about any rusting or corrosion and it's a pretty solid piece as you can see. It's welded on really nicely, a forged steel piece. So we don't have to worry about it splitting apart or anything like but things can get lost even if they're a big chunk of metal like this. So, tends to need replacing at times. Now, this doesn't come with any hitch pins or any pins to attach this to the ball mount itself, so if you don't already have them to re-use from your original kit, you can pick up some here at etrailer.com.
Just make sure that they're able to withstand the amount of weight that you're going to be towing since really you're only as strong as your weakest link in any towing set up.As far as the overall dimensions with our ball mount, going from the center of our attachment point there to the center of the ball mount is going to be about 3-1/2". So that's how far out from our ball mount that center of the ball will be. It gives you an idea about the amount of clearance that you'll have with this. The opening that's going to go into our channel is going to be about 3" wide. Overall the whole thing is going to stand about 7" tall.
It'll be about 5" long and again, about 3" wide at the widest point which will be that back portion. And that's going to do it for our look at the replacement 2" and 2-5/16" dual-sided hitch ball for Curt 2" adjustable ball mount.
