Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Curt Pintle Hook. This pintle hook lets you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle. It's going to provide the attachment point for your lunette ring coupler. It is a bolt-on installation with the included hardware. It simply bolts to a pintle hook mounting plate. Pintle hook mounting plates are sold separately.
We do carry a variety of those, so it you're in need of one, you can check out some options here at etrailer.com. This unit's made from a strong, forged steel construction. It's going to feature a high-gloss, powder-coated finish, which is going to do a great job at resisting rust and corrosion. When it comes to that safety pin, that is tethered to the unit, so that way, you don't worry about misplacing that or losing it. To open up the hook, you want to remove that safety pin, lift up on the T-handle, and rotate that upper arm back. You can make your connection, and then just secure the lunette ring, simply bring that back down, and reinsert the pin, and clip. Really nice, easy-to-use design.
This is going to fit lunette ring couplers with a diameter of 2-1/2 to 3". Gross towing weight capacity is 20,000 pounds. Tongue-weight capacity for this unit is 4,000 pounds. When it comes to the mount hole dimensions, taking a look at the measurement, we have center-on-center between the holes, it's going to be about 3-3/8". Going this direction, center-on-center it's going to be about 1-3/4".
Then those mount holes are going to give us a diameter of 9/16". That's going to do it for today's look at the Curt Pintle Hook.

Great solid product. Using it on a 1 ton diesel with 2 1/2 inch receiver and fits great. Top latch on the pintle hook had alittle more play then I would like but was able to tighten it abit. Good piece of mind when pulling fully load dump trailer.
