This universal 3-ball trailer coupler lock offers security whether your trailer is hitched up to your vehicle or left unattended. Latch lock secures the coupler when your trailer is hooked up and when the lock ball is inserted during storage.

It works great and has protected our scout trailer for over a year in spite of rising crime in the area. The only problem is that we needed extra keys which could not be obtained locally. That adds to the locks security.

I know that while trailer and hitch locks do provide additional security, they are not 100 percent theft proof. I had wondered if they had possibly cut the both the latch lock and cable to remove the Curt lock. I can only recommend looking at using a surround style lock like part # ML389DAT

Serves its purpose to deter a thief with limited, or no tools from stealing our trailer but not sure how it would hold up against bolt cutters. But just having some security is helpful. Would recommend to anyone considering it.

- Is Metal Pin of Curt Hitch Lock # C48CR Difficult to CutThe pin of the Curt lock part # C48CR is steel which is a harder metal to cut, but if a thief had enough time and tools handy they could probably cut through it. But theft deterrents really are only going to be effective at stopping the casual thief.
