I can't exactly answer honestly what I think of it because after year I still haven't had put on the trailer it's a lot heavier in sturdier than I expected Shipping with quick and on time that is far as product I haven't put on the trailer yet

Comments

by:

It was exactly what I ordered and it was delivered before the time stated on the order. Best service ever, I will recommend e-trailer to all my friends

by:

Got it installed seems to work fine time will tell. If it were USA made would have been nice.

by:

Excellent coupler for my homemade rig. Welded up nicely!

by:

Telephone Order was excellent, communication was excellent
Received item on time
Package ripped and torn , product received in good condition
Thank you

by:

Exact replacement for the one I bent Delivery was very quick.

by:

Good quality and easy online ordering. Overall great experience

by:

As delivered is what was advertised. Shipping and lead time among the best.

by:

Coupler will not unlatch without prying open with crowbar or hammer. This was a problem from the first time I ever used it, and continues to be a problem one year later. Item did have warranty, but I was told I would have to cut the coupler off my trailer, send it back to etrailer, wait for them to inspect it, send me a new one, then weld new one on my trailer, leaving me without my trailer for several weeks. So basically, the warranty is useless to anyone who uses their trailer regularly.

by:

The coupler works and fit great on my old dump trailer. It was delivered on time. I would order again from etrailer.

by:

Fit exactly as supposed to. Did not trust my welding so I drilled and bolted it in place , then welded it.

by:

this is an excellent coupler been using for over a year and like the way it doesnt get pinched on ball when lowering and lifting

by:

As is my usual experience with Etrailer.com, I received the part the day before the tracking info had it scheduled!

I had searched all the local suppliers without success, thing to find a 2" hitch coupler for an A-frame tongue rated at 8,000 lb. &
1200 lb. tongue weight. (what was originally on the trailer) The best I could find was a 7,000 lb. unit for about twice the price of the E-trailer part. (Including E/T shipping!)

I removed the old worn-out hitch and welded on the new part with no difficulty. I have used the trailer for 1 short tow so far. The hitch coupler fits my 2" ball perfectly, with no slop or rattle when towing. (As opposed to the old coupler, that had actually popped off the ball twice!)

This seems to be an excellent quality product. I would not hesitate to recommend this part, and Etrailer.com, to anyone needing a similar unit.

by:

Updated an old trailer, excellent value, easy to mount. The safety relief works really well. Very happy with the purchase and etrailer.com is a great vendor with very large selection of products, and great service. have used many times and will continue

Comments

I had bought a trailer that the hitch was messed up on. I got a great deal on it because the guy who had it didn't want to fool with replacing the damaged one since it was an A-frame style and he was thinking it would be hard to replace. I got online and found etrailer.com. They had quality products at great prices so I chose to order from them. I received the hitch quickly and it was exactly what I wanted. It was really simple to put on my trailer and so far everything has performed excellent. I would highly recommend etrailer.com products. I'll definitely be ordering more products as I need them from etrailer.com.

by:

all looks good , the springs seem to be the correct size , the wheel cover sizing is true and they are there are thicker / stronger than expected with good strength to the elastic . the alignment balls help when i am alone ,which is most of the time and the added light option for same price as your competion is great. also like the price of the hitch which i have yet to install but i can say an improvement over my existing one with a bolt hole for keeping it latched closed and a good size lever to grab hold of. Over all the order was correct, shipped in a timely manner and the prices are good what more could one ask for. PS. after seeing the wheel covers I am going to order 4 more for storing my truck and thanks for helping me get my trailer in tip top shape Vito

by:

Great product very good quality. Replaced existing trailer hitch which was not working properly struggled to get to hook onto ball. This new one hooks right up with no problems. Very satisfied with companies on time shipment and product.

by:

Good solid construction. The threads for the bolts that hold the jack on need to be reinforced better. For the little 2K trailer I'm putting it on, they should hold fine but if I was putting this on a trailer closer to it's weight rating, I would definitely add nuts and washers (which I will do for this trailer even though it doesn't need it) I prefer to side on the heavy duty.

by:

I got the trailer coupler right when e-trailer said I would and it installed perfectly without a hitch...LOL... These guys do their job and I paid only $2 more for this 8,000 lb capacity vs the 5k capacity that Harbor Freight offers which is perfect for my tandem axle flatbed. Thank You George J. @ e-trailer.

by:

Ordered the 8 thousand pound hitch delivery was quick had to wait a couple of weeks to fix looks great. Thanks

by:

Nice heavy duty coupler. I won’t have any trouble with this staying attached to my truck as long as I own the trailer. Make sure you use safety chains, it will ensure your trailer will stay behind you on long trips.

by:

The E-Trailer A-Frame trailer coupler Just got delivered. The trailer hitch out of the box after an on-time delivery and it seems perfect for the replacement of my damaged hitch. Will install next week, welding it to the frame.

by:

Your service was good but package had big tear down the side,no damage to party

by:

I bought one something pro similar to this one. I damaged it because of the sliding piece. this style requires space for the moving portion under the cover. I liked the pin better on this one. I am not welding it on, bolting instead. My trailer is hot dipped galvanized, I want all of the trailer to look new when I finish.

Comments
If you do choose to bolt this coupler on you will be voiding the warranty of the coupler and potentially of the trailer. We do have a few bolt on options that I have included as a link below for your reference.

  • Where Do I Look If I Can't Find the VIN on a 1997 Doo Little 20 Foot Trailer?
Usually brand name trailer manufacturers will indicate the unique vehicle identification number (VIN) on the same plaque that carries their brand name, model number information and the trailer specifications. If you cannot find the VIN on the trailer tongue you can check for plaques on other parts of the trailer. It may even be stamped into the frame. Perhaps you can find some helping hands to assist you in moving the trailer around to check its underside (especially near the axle and...

To remove the old welded A-frame coupler, you will need to have it cut off. Then you will need to have the new one welded in its place. I recommend the A-Frame Trailer Coupler - Yoke Latch - Black - 2" Ball - Weld On - 8,000 lbs # CA-5210-B for the complete replacement. This is a very sturdy coupler made by Ram who manufactures most OEM travel Trailer Couplers. I've attached a video to assist. • Are Jack Mount Threads of A-Frame Trailer Coupler # CA-5210-B Fine or Coarse Thread
The threaded bolt holes on the jack mount of the A-Frame trailer coupler part # CA-5210-B are coarse thread. It's actually pretty interesting that the holes are threaded. Nearly every single jack mount like this is not threaded and is designed for nuts and bolts instead. I still think this would be the preferred method.

  • A-Frame Coupler For Trailer That Measures 8-1/2 Inches Wide At The A-frame Tongue
I went out to the warehouse and measured the coupler part # CA-5210-B and the inside width of the coupler measures 8-3/4 inches. The 9-1/2 inch wide measurement is the outside width of the coupler. If the spot on your tongue where the coupler installs does not measure 8-3/4 or close to it you can shim the coupler with a thin piece of metal when you weld it on.
