Video Transcript for Camco Propane - Hoses - CAM57703 Review

Speaker 1: Today we're going to take a look at the Camco low pressure, LP gas regulator with the six foot long hose. Now this six foot long hose will let you connect your Olympian wave gas heater or any large gas barbecue grill to the type one propane cylinder. This does install very quickly and easily. It does include a low pressure regulator and it is rated for 70,000 BTU an hour maximum outlet flow. It does also maintain a constant 11 inch water column outlet pressure. And it is equipped with an excess flow protection for safety.

The inlet right here is a type one acme connector with the coupling nut to attach to the propane cylinder and the outlet here has a 3/8 inch female clear swivel nut connector. But that should do it for the review on the Camco low pressure, LP gas regulator with the six foot long hose.

Review from a similar Low Pressure Regulator in Propane Fittings

Works perfect to run a Mr. Heater 30,000 BTU (5 panel) Radiant LP GAS Vent-Free Wall Heater!
Customer Service person Diana was a pleasure and she checked with the manufacturer for me to be sure the regulator was rated adequately to supply this heater. It supplies it just fine and is great quality!
If your LP gas has lots of moisture you might need to look into a two stage regulator with a vent for the moisture to seep out, and make note of where the vent is horizontally or vertically placed. And follow all local codes and regulations. I'm not a LP gas professional...these are just my opinions.

Comments
Gary,Thank you for your review. You are correct. When installing a 2 stage regulator such as part #CAM59005 you want to make sure it is mounted with vent hole face down. This will allow water to drain from the regulator. Regulators are sealed for moisture protection.

  • Will Camco Propane Low Pressure Regulator and Hose CAM57703 Work with a Refrigerator
I did some checking and the Camco Low-Pressure LP Gas Regulator w/ 6' Long Hose Item # CAM57703 is rated for a maximum of 75,000 BTUs per hour and an 11 inch water column. Check to see what the refrigerator requires to determine if this rating is compatible. Regulators are rated using BTUs and water column information. The hose has a psi rating but the pressure would never get anywhere near what the hose is rated for which is 350 PSIG (the G means the pressure is relative to the atmospheric...

Yes, if the propane tank and its regulator are rated for low-pressure operations (many gas appliances are) then it will work with the Camco propane heater # CAM57331. If you have a propane tank but no low pressure regulator you could use regulator # CAM57703.

  • What is Needed to Use the Camco Olympian Wave 6 Catalytic Safety Heater
The Camco Olympian Wave 6 Catalytic Safety Heater # CAM57341 requires low pressure LP which is designated as 11" w.c. (water column). What you will need to use is the Camco Low-Pressure LP Gas Regulator # CAM57703, which will connect from the fitting on the heater directly to a propane tank with a Type 1 male connector. It can't be double regulated so it will need to go directly to the tank.

  • Can You Use An Adjustable Regulator with a Low Pressure Propane Heater?
You cannot use an adjustable regulator with the Camco Olympian Wave 3 # CAM57331 since this heater operates on a low pressure gas system and running high pressure gas through it would cause it to function improperly and potentially create a dangerous situation. Instead, you would want to use a hose and regulator like the # CAM57703 which has a 6ft long hose on a low pressure regulator to connect from your gas source. It should be noted that the Olympian Wave 3 has an adjustable heat output,...

  • Does Camco Wave 6 RV Heater Require Regulated Propane
The Camco Olympian Wave 6 Catalytic Safety Heater for Mid-Sized RVs # CAM57341 is not designed to run off of unregulated propane. It needs LP gas which is regulated to 11 inches of water column. So you would need a regulator like the part # CAM57703 that you also referenced.

  • Will Camco Low-Pressure Regulator Fit a 1999 Jayco Eagle Pop-Up
The Camco Low-Pressure LP regulator # CAM57703 is specifically designed to work with Olympian gas heaters. These heaters do have a typical fitting on them based on what I could find so you potentially could use it on your 1999 Jayco Eagle. If your propane fire pit/table top heater already has a regulator you won't want to have a second regulator on the line. The easiest would be to use a hose like the # CAM57629 or # CAM57703 that come with regulators on them and attaching them to a propane bottle.
