eZ-Latch Coupler

This coupler features a simple-to-use latching mechanism known as the eZ-Latch. With this mechanism, hooking up is as easy as dropping the coupler over your trailer hitch ball. The latch does not need to be tugged or manually activated to allow the ball into the coupler socket, nor does it have to be secured in place. Just make sure that the coupler is properly lined up with the ball when you lower it, and the rest is automatic. Disengaging the coupler is just as effortless. Simply lift up the contoured handle and the coupler socket will automatically release its grip on the ball.

It has been a perfect upgrade and replacement for my 27ft enclosed snowmobile trailer! The EZ-latch function is a great feature! Highly recommend this hitch!

Purchased to replace the “surge setup” on my 24 ft boat trailer= replace the neck, go with electric brakes....much better setup, and NO u will not have issues (being electric) when backing into the water. Much cheaper than fixing the worn out surge brake system. Great product / A+ customer service / much cheaper than any competitors price!

Great option when ditching a surge brake model for electric over hydraulic. Wish it had a metal latch, but maybe it will last forever. Lost a star for that.

This replacement fit right on and bolted in place within 5 minutes. Probably would have been faster had I used power tools. I like the new ball latch much better. I have provided 2 photos for your viewing pleasure. First one without the product on and the second with the replacement attached and the old one setting on top. I want to say that George J provided excellent communications from the moment my order was processed all the way to delivery. etrailer by far has the best price & service. I would do business with them again in a heartbeat!!

Great company to deal with l won’t buy my parts anywhere else

It hasn’t arrived yet

Good product. Easy 10 minute installation. Fast shipping and awesome communication.

The Bomb perfect fit.
Very easy to install
only 45 min total including the removal of the old welded on coupler

Love this Coupler very easy to use!!!!

Had to replace the existing 1 7/8” coupler with a new one and decided to go to a 2” ball to make the changing of trailers This fit perfect

Arrived in timely fashion , worked out great

I've been very happy with dealing with etrailer both in ordering and quickness of receiving my order. I have not installed this product as yet but have fitted and all looks good and I'm hoping it works as designed. This type of hitch will take away some pain and strain by not having to manually lock onto ball.

Folks if you've never had the ease of this hitch you are missing it. It's by far the easiest hitch I've EVER used. Back up n line up under it, then simply let trailer down on the ball. The black latch raises up then back down and it's latched, put safety pin in and done. Best of all the way it's made, it's nearly impossible to come off by accident. Great service too.

Best Coupler I have ever owned

We were needing to upgrade our hitch for a towable piece of equipment in our rental fleet and this Demco with the EZ Latch was the perfect choice.

Hard product to find locally! It was super easy to find on etrailer, was shipped quickly and arrived within days. I am very satisfied with my experience with

Don't understand why this order was shipped out USPS. Took two extra days to get here when UPS would've been 1 day. Also assumed that the couple was zinc but is painted.

  • Coupler Recommendation for 3 inch Channel With Easy to Use Latch System
For easy operation I really like the Demco Couplers part # DM15000-52 that have the eZ latch system. It'll work for a very long time and won't get difficult to operate. This is confirmed to fit 3 inch frame channel and on 2 inch hitch balls as well.

  • 2" Trailer Coupler Alternative for 4" Trailer Tongue Channel
The largest channel size we have fits a 3" wide channel so you'll have to do some modifications to get it to fit. Alternatively, we also have the Buyers Products Coupler w/ 3-Position Adjustable Channel # 3370091543 which is a weld-on application that you can potentially use if your trailer tongue design allows. For this type of installation it's best to consult a professional welder or trailer shop who has done this type of work before.

The Demco Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler - eZ-Latch - Silver - 2" Ball - Bolt On - 10,000 lbs # DM15000-52 is a bolt on coupler for a pole tongue trailer. It is compatible with 3 inch channel width and has bolt holes in the spacing I've attached in the photo. • Length added to Trailer Tongue When Demco # DM15000-52 or DM12563 Coupler is Installed
The two couplers you referenced are identical size-wise. The # DM15000-52 is a bolt-on application with the EZ latch system and a silver finish. The DM12563 uses a standard latch, is a weld-on application and has a red finish. For the # DM15000-52, the easiest way to locate how far forward the coupler would extend would be to measure forward from the front most mounting hole 7.09 inches. The distance forward from the point where the coupler narrows will depend on how far from tolerance...

  • Replacmenet for Shelby 5107 Trailer Coupler
So what you're looking for is a straight tongue coupler for a 2" ball with a 3" channel that can handle at least 7,500 lbs. For a replacement that fits these requirements we have a few options from Demco. If you want a zinc finish with a 200-Hour salt spray rating we have the # 12564. If you would rather have a silver powder coat finish with a 500 hour rating we have the # DM15000-52. Both have a 10,000 lb weight capacity and a bolt-on installation. Both of these also have an eZ-Latch...

Best option we have is the part # e98887 for a pin lock for the Demco coupler part # DM15000-52. This has a pin diameter of 1/4 inch and a length of 2-1/2 inches so it will fit tight to your coupler and fit well still.

  • Recommended 2" Bolt on Coupler for a Folding Tongue Trailer
The Titan Zinc-Plated Coupler item # T4845000 will work with a fold away tongue so long as it has a 3" channel. There isn't a way to increase the length. This coupler has a 500 lbs capacity and fits a 2" ball. These couplers are quite a bit smaller but all close to the same size. For a larger coupler you will have to go up in capacity. The Shelby coupler you have now is a standard trigger-latch style of coupler that fits a 3 inch frame channel which we have great replacements for. This also fits a 2 inch hitch ball. Check out the review video I attached for more info on this coupler as well.

  • Does Surge Brake Actuator Need To Be Replaced Or Locked Out When Electric Brakes Are Installed?
Since your 26' Eagle Boat Trailer with Tandem Axles has electric brakes now, you do not want to have a functioning surge brake actuator and it will need to be locked out or replaced with a standard coupler. Now drilling a hole and using a wood screw like the previous owner is not a recommended method to lockout the coupler, and it would be better to have a welder weld the inner and outer sleeves to keep it from engaging the master cylinder. If you would rather get rid of it all together...
