This coupler features a simple-to-use latching mechanism known as the eZ-Latch. With this mechanism, hooking up is as easy as dropping the coupler over your trailer hitch ball. The latch does not need to be tugged or manually activated to allow the ball into the coupler socket, nor does it have to be secured in place. Just make sure that the coupler is properly lined up with the ball when you lower it, and the rest is automatic. Disengaging the coupler is just as effortless. Simply lift up the handle and the coupler socket will automatically release its grip on the ball.
The contoured, low-profile design of the latch handle helps protect the coupler from damage by allowing any potential hazards - from debris on the road to your ball mount backing into the coupler - to simply slide over the top. This helps prevent anything from getting under the latch handle and releasing the ball, and it can also limit any damage to the coupler should an impact occur.
Unlike most couplers, which have a pin hole through the handle latch, the eZ-Latch coupler features a hole through the side of the coupler itself. Inserting a coupler lock through this hole will keep the latch from lifting, preventing disconnect and theft.
Sturdy, Corrosion-Resistant Construction
Made of sturdy steel, this straight-tongue coupler features a durable silver powder coat finish that is designed to limit rust and corrosion. This coat has a 500-hour salt spray rating, making the coupler perfect for marine use. The eZ-Latch's sleek, ergonomically designed handle is constructed of a durable composite material that's corrosion-proof, allowing it to withstand whatever the road and the elements dish out.

Today, we're going to take a look at the Demco EZ Latch channel tongue trailer coupler for a 2 5/16 diameter hitch ball, and it has a 21,000 pound weight capacity. Now, this straight tongue coupler it's made of sturdy steel construction. Has a nice silver powder coat finish on it to offer excellent corrosion resistance, and it does meet the 500 hour salt spray rating. So, it is great for marine applications. The channel tongue coupler lets you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle, and it provides the connection point right here for your 2 5/16 diameter hitch ball. What's nice on this coupler is it offers the EZ Latch coupler mechanism here.
That'll ensure a nice, fast, simple, secure hookup and disconnect. Lets you hook up when the latch is in the closed position like it is now, all you have to do is just drop the coupler over the hitch ball and the latch'll snap into place on the ball.Just to demonstrate that I happened to pull here's a 2 5/16 diameter ball. So, I'm gonna set that right there, and you can see that if you just drop the coupler on top of the ball, push down, and it'll automatically snap into place. You can see the latch has stayed close, and it locks it to the ball. You're all ready to go.
To release it from the coupler, you just lift up on this EZ Latch handle, and it removes right from the ball. Simple as that. Again, you put it in the close position, and it'll allow you to hook it up just like that. The EZ Latch itself is a corrosion-proof polymer, nylon resin composite latch handle. It's very durable and impact resistant, and if you want, you can lock this coupler to the ball. It has a hole right here, which is a 5/16 diameter.
So, you use a 5/16 diameter coupler pin lock that you'll slide through there. On the other side, you put your lock, and then it'll lock it to the ball so nobody can remove it. Now, when you do buy a lock for this, if you plan to locket, it does require a minimum span on the pin lock of 3". I'm going to go ahead and remove it from the ball, just like that. Now this is a bolt-on installation. You can see it's the 5-hole bolt on case.
You can see the five holes on the side here. Now, the installation to install this is not included. This part is made in the USA. A few specs on this, it's designed to mount onto a 3" wide straight channel tongue. So, you can see if I put the ruler measure the inside of that, it's 3". Again, it's designed to fit the hitch ball size of 2 5/16 diameter, and the weight capacity on this is 21,000 pounds. But that should do it for the review on the Demco EZ Latch channel tongue trailer coupler for the 2 5/16 diameter hitch ball.

Bolts onto your 3" wide trailer tongue. 5-Hole bolt-on case. Thanks again for all of the help. Here are some pics of the completed project. From new axels completely new brake system. A completer overhaul on the trailer! Thanks again for all of your help!!! Much appreciated!!!
Bolt holes line up with the surge coupler it replaced, but needed a lot of convincing with my 5 pound sledgehammer to get it to go over the 3" channel. Not sure if the channel was slightly oversized or the coupler slightly under, but I also am not going to pry it back off to check :)
I hope the coating between the coupler and the channel wasn't scraped off too much by the process, and it doesn't rust.
Bolted into original holes, no drilling needed, great fit
Quick and easy great prices.
