Hello everybody, this is Jeff with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the Deka yellow butt connectors for 12-10 gauge size wire. This is for a quantity of five connectors. Now, these yellow butt connectors will join two lengths of 12-gauge or 10-gauge size wire. It will insulate the connection with the heat shrinkable nylon for adjustability and durability and the yellow color of this connector indicates the size wire the connector will fit which is 12 to 10 gauge size, and also if you don't remember the color, what size it fits, it is stamped on the connector, 12-10 AWG, which it's telling you. But basically when you install this, what you'll do is get your two wires and enough you'll strip about a quarter of an inch of insulation off the end of each wire that you're wanting to connect, and then what you'll do is insert the end of the one wire all the way in into the metal casing until it stops right in the very center, they do have a stopper, so you push the wire in there, once it stops you make sure it's in the metal casing there and then what you'll do is take your crimper and you'll just crimp down on that metal casing until it holds the wire in place, and then you'll take your second wire and do the same on the other side, slide it all the way in, the part that you've stripped off, slide that all the way in 'til it stops, make sure it's in the metal casing, take your crimper, crimp it all the way down.
Once your two wires are in there, what you might wanna do is pull on both wires just to make sure you do have a good connection, that they've been crimped correctly. If that's all fine, then what you'll do is you'll take a heat source like a heat gun and then just apply heat over the whole insulation and what'll happen is it'll cause this nylon insulation to heat to shrink and it'll completely seal around your connection and prevent the elements from causing any problem with your connection. Now this part is for a quantity of five connectors. We do also sell this in a single pack which is part #DW05745-1, and also as a ten-pack, part #DW05745-10. This yellow butt connector joins two lengths of 12-10 gauge wire. Insulated with heat-shrinkable nylon for adjustability and durability.The products were ordered on Sunday night late, delivered by Wednesday. Converting drum surge brakes to disc, electric over hydraulic on a boat trailer for 26ft Sea Ray boat. I had everything including Titan brake actuator, 4 kodiac rotor and caliper conversion kits with bearings, and new lines installed by Thursday evening. Installation was straight forward, everything fit perfectly. One of the calipers was malfunctioning (not releasing). I called customer service and I had a new one within two days, it's now installed and working great!! Great product! Awesome service!!

Great quality connectors, and heat shrink insulators worked great.
My parts arrived on time. The shipping was very prompt.
The parts ordered were all there and looked good. Haven't installed the brakes yet, as I have to weld on flanges first. Also I have to replace the SS sleeves that the seals runs on with a slightly larger one, as the new seals are larger.
I may send you a picture with the new flanges and SS sleeves in place, when I'm done.

had no problems all the parts are working fine
Use these for a weathertite connection. These are well worth the money to prevent electrical problems from corroded connectors.

I have never regretted using the weather proof electrical connection, because the heat shrink tubing ensures a tight, dry seal. Absolutely no problems electrically.
Made a firm connection and shrunk down to seal up the wire nicely. While these connectors are a little on the pricy side, I think they are well worth it for any wire connections that will be exposed to the elements.

It’s been a year and the connections are still working without fail.
I used these on one of my trailers the day I got them. They worked great!
The right tool for the job. I used the heat shrink butt connectors to install a DYI trailer hitch wiring harness for my '15 Chevy Colorado. They worked great and are keeping my wires dust, dirt, and most importantly - water - free. Thanks etrailer!

Works great, no problems
I found a how-to video from etrailer online. Without the video, I would have had to pay someone to install (more for the wiring). Went directly to etrailer to buy the hitch for my Jeep. Very satisfied and very grateful for the service-
I basically ordered enough parts to replace the eitire magnetic brake / hub assembly on two (2) 3500# Dexter Axles after I replaced the bent axles that were underneath my 2011 Surveyor SP280 Travel Trailer. It turned out to be a better deal to replace the assemblies rather than rebuild / resurface what I had.
The parts that I ordered arrived quickly but were a little scuffed up due to the packaging materials used but in general the parts were not severely damaged.
The fit of the parts has been very good and to this point I am satisfied with the purchase. I suppose "the rest of the story" will be told when we go camping for the first time and see how the parts perform when "the rubber hits the highway".
Just received my order of new backing plate assemblies and some misc small parts. Ordered on line late Sunday night, confirmed I had ordered the right parts Monday morning before shipment went out. Customer service by phone was superb and the gal I talked with was perfect. Shipment was on my porch Friday afternoon. I did open box and inspect shipment that arrived completely intact/good shape and all looked good at this point. Not sure when will get to the brakes on the trailer but will post again when the job is done. So far nothing but good to say about Etrailer.com. Regards, John.
Excellent products, shipped as promised and arrived on time. I have installed all the products. Although it took me longer then a professional installer, I had little to no issues. The online installation videos for all the parts (which were attached to the online order status sheet) made it extremely easy to install. The videos were of a professional actually installing the equipment step by step. etrailer.com has a customer for life.
This 7pin RV side fit my 2018 View perfectly. Factory plug had the ground wire not connected. This product allowed me to butt splice the ground wire to the new wiring and complete a trip. Thanks to Bryon for helping verify fitment and fast service. All is working right now.
This is a standard Heat Shrink Connector. The clamp type connectors would be a better choice for connecting brake wiring.

These brakes were installed on a boat trailer, which is not used very often. The brakes are working fine.
