7-Way Molded Trailer Wire Connector, 4' Long - H20043

Average Customer Rating:  4.8 out of 5 stars   (223 Customer Reviews)

Check the function of your wires on Trailer and Truck! Product is perfectly fine. It's wired for RV Traditional. My Truck is RV Traditional. My Trailer is SAE Standard. Took me a minute to figure it out. My advice... hook this up to your truck and with a meter and test light confirm the function of each wire. Do the same with your trailer. If you don't understand that... hire someone that does. awesome as always.

I fabricated a receiver hitch motorcycle rack, I used trailer wiring and led lights, so I have lights on the rack. Just plug it in to the truck trailer plug. Good quality and instructions with etrailer supply's.Thanks

The color coating does not match the pin it should be on. I had to go to a automotive technician to get it wired correctly. Very disappointed.

We apologize for any confusion. Hopkins is well known for having a different color code than most wiring for trailers, since there isnt really a standard for color coding. We do have the chart that shows what colors are supposed to be what on the product page under the specs.

The quality of this trailer plug connector should make it last forever! The seal at the end will withstand the constant bending and twisting that this daily-use utility trailer will put to it. The blade style RV plug end will fit any factory equipped pickup receptacle so I can use multiple tow vehicles.

Easy to maneuver and understandable website. Good ordering instructions. Good order fulfillment. Timely shipment. Accurate and safe packaging. Good follow up.

Best harness I’ve owned

Great products & great service!

Outstanding customer service.. parts delivered promptly and better quality than expected.. I have recommended your company to anyone working on a trailer, and look forward to my next project..

Right now 3 stars. Received the connector 12 Oct 2021. The cord on the trailer had the same connector on it which worked if you manipulated the pins to make connection (reason for replacing). The wiring colors on trailer, old connector snd new connector are the same, so adding new connector wasn’t a problem. When I plugged into the vehicle and tried the lights, nothing worked properly. The only time any lights came on was when right turn or hazard switches were activated and ALL the lights on trailer came on flashing. Tried the connection on 2 vehicles with same result. Called etrailer and they are sending another connector. Will give update then.

Used this on my snowmobile trailer. The cable outer jacket is to rigid (Not flexible). Gets worse in colder temps. Don't recommend it for cold use. Picture is in garage at 53F. Cable is so stiff it won't fall on the floor.

you sent me a 2ft wire conector i order a 4ft i now have to ship back

Went from a 5 blade flat plug on boat trailer with tandem surge brakes to a solid 7 way molded connector. etrailer wiring diagrams were very helpful especially since boat trailer wiring did not match up to 7 way plug wiring. Double check with a tester to be sure your connecting correct wires.

My horse trailer OEM unit was brittle and stiff, after just a few years. This new wire harness from etrailer fixed the problem and was easy to install. It is even a little longer then the OEM, so there is more more room for turning sharp corners.

Still works great. Great connection with the tow vehicle, and still very pliable wires!

Excellent Product from a great Company

Arrived on time and worked as promised. What more can you ask?

Seems to be good quality. Time will tel l.

Outstanding part

Exactly what I was looking for, fast shipping, best price…etrailer has never failed me!

Great, other than wire colors had to ch ange.

Bought a 20 year old horse trailer and needed to rewire it. The original pigtail had a 6 terminal plug, my new pick-up had a flat four and a 7 pin. When I bought it the guy gave me a 6 to 7 pin adapter but it didn't allow electric brakes. They are required in my state for a trailer over 1500 lbs. Think trailer with two horses. So I bought this pigtail. It is top quality and has large gauge wiring. I also needed break-away switch so I needed a battery. This pig-tail has #10 wires for both 30 amps (+12V) and Chassis ground. This really puts a charge in the trailer battery. (would do the same for an RV) Then #14 wire for the brake signal. This plugs right into the seven pin plug on my pickup with the tow package. Highly recommend.

Works like a connector should. Was happy that the color coding on the cable was the same as the camper

I purchased the 4' molded 7-way molded wire and plug, and the wiring junction box. I was very happy with all the products. My mistake was not crawling under my trailer and studying the frame layout proir to ordering. Once I was ready to rewire my trailer, I dicovered that my origional plan wouldn't work so the molded plug was too short.
E-trailer was very prompt, and everything was exactly as dicribed.

The wiring harness is fine. I use it everyday and it's made of durable material.

All good

All i can say is all great as always, Thanks

Exactly what I need to replace my current trailer connector. The best part about this item is that the plug is molded on.

  • Solution for Towing a Coleman Camper with a 6-Way Square Connector with a Tow Vehicle with 7-Way
The connector you have on your trailer will need to be replaced as there isn't an adapter available for your setup. You will want to cut the 6-way round off of your trailer and replace it with a # H20043 by wiring it by function. You would want to apply 12 volts to each of the circuits on your trailer with a jumper wire and a car battery so that you can determine their function and then wire it to the # H20043 by function. I attached a chart that shows the colors of the wires and where...

I recommend wiring your trailer by function and not color. If there is a circuit you don't need for any reason it doesn't have to be connected.

I've linked a help article that will give you the common color coding but on your trailer I wouldn't go by it. Even if they are correct you just never know so I suggest testing it. To test it cut off the 5-way connector that's on there and connect each wire to a 12-volt power source and see what functions. Then use a 7-way connector like the Hopkins # H20043 and connect the function to the correct leads. Even the Hopkins does not use the traditional color coding. Instead it uses the...

You could still wire in the part # H20043 though. I attached a chart that details how this harness would typically get wired to a trailer. You can still send me a picture though and I will take a look at it.
