Heavy duty, easy to use, unconditionally recommend it. Looks like it will outlast me!

Works as well today after a year as it did out of the box.

Failed 200 miles into first trip, started melting.

You mentioned that it started melting and I wanted to ask you a few follow questions. Do you have still have the harness? Would you be able to send a picture? Would you also be able to send a picture of the back of your motorhome.

Good service...friendly & helpful staff...fair prices.....

Apparently the trailer coiled wire adapters for marine use have a 3 year life span. It is good to know that even with the covid bologna I did receive my coil just before memorial day weekend

Outstanding service with numerous updates on status. Excellent company, superior customer service.

Great item, I first had the four pin model which is also great. Had to get 5 pin model for boat trailer that has surge brakes.

This item is extremely well constructed you will not have any issues with it. It is nice that it lights up at night to let you know that is connected correctly.
Downriverbob - 04/26/2014

Just replaced one that survived 13 years, love the lights at night.

Works great. I already had an adapter that did the same thing but needed a bit more cord. Lights up like advertised, super heavy duty. I haven’t used it much but it looks like it will hold up for a long time. Nice to have 5 pins vs most that are 4.

On time, repeat customer... Products exactly what I wanted. Thanks for delivering what you promised.

super heavy duty this is my second one, the first lasted 9 years on my boat trailer and other flat trailers the ground on the 4 prong end broke so I ordered another.

With lighted connectors you know you have electricity to the trailer.

Solved our problem

Received the new connector and appears to be HD and good quality. This connector should last ... The coiled conductors should eliminate the excess wire from dragging on the roadway.

I use this for my boat trailer and it is nice to know everything is working properly.

Product is exactly what I needed, thanks. Quality connections, and the added illumination when connected and working is an added benefit for peace of mind.

A quality product and delivered fast. I would recommend etrailer for all your needs.

Great product, great pricing and fast d elivery.

I like the red indicator that there is a connection after plugging it into the receptacle.

Product came in fast and looks good. Haven't used it yet.

Seems to be a nice quality connector...hope it works well for a few years.

This adapter is a higher quality unit than I anticipated, it works as stated, and was delivered promptly. I would purchase this again.

Exactly what I needed, makes it much easier to see that the connection is working. Very fast shipping too!!

Outstanding product would recommend highly.

Works great, heavy duty. Fits nicely into sockets. Perfect length.

Works great

  • Coiled Length of the Hopkins Heavy-Duty Trailer Coiled Wire # HM47025
I went and pulled a Hopkins Heavy-Duty Trailer Coiled Wire # HM47025 from our warehouse to measure it and found that in its natural coiled state it measures 13-1/2 inches long. If you take the ends and point them away from each other but without stretching the coils it measures 19 inches long.

  • What Is The Difference Between These Flex-Coiled Wire Adapters by Hopkins - # HM47025 And # HM47075
These Hopkins wire adapters, Item # HM47025 and Item # HM47075, have similar functions. Both are heavy-duty, coiled cable with weatherproof jacketing. Both have easy-grip connectors and light up when connected. Both are 3 foot when stretched. Both adapt a 7-Way connector to work with a 4-Way or 5-Way flat connector on a trailer. One difference is that the The Hopkins Endurance Adapter, Item # HM47075, has a 3-year limited warranty. I have attached videos for you to check out.

  • Wiring Adapter to Convert Vehicle 7-Way to 5-Pole Flat Connector for Boat Trailer
Usually a factory tow package on the Suburban has a 7-way type trailer socket, like # HM40975. There are 6-pole wiring products out there but these have a very different appearance. If you refer to the linked article on wiring you'll be able to see each type and confirm which you have. Often the center contact on a 7-way, which carries a reverse light signal, is not counted as it has a different appearance than the other contacts in the socket. If you do indeed have a 7-way with a reverse...

  • Connecting a Boat Trailer with a 5-Way and EOH Brakes to 2015 Ram 3500 with 7-Way Trailer Connector
Tthe Hopkins connector, part # HM47025, will connect your 2015 Ram 3500's 7-way to your boat trailer's 5-way but it won't power the EOH brakes. Your truck's brake output pin is the in 5 O'clock position which is standard and the center pin is the reverse light circuit. The Hopkins connector uses that reverse light circuit for the 5th pin that's normally on a boat trailer for its electric reverse lockout. Instead I'd cut the trailer's 5-way off and replace it with a 7-way. Part # e99011...

  • Not All Boat Trailer Lights Light Up Using a 7-Way to 5-Way Adapter On a 2013 GMC Sierra
Since your truck is new, it is not likely that there is a problem with its wiring. So the adapter you already have could be faulty or there is a ground issue on the trailer. The functions of a 5-Way are as follows: The covered pin is ground. Next to it is the running light pin, followed by the left turn/brake light pin, then the right turn/brake light pin. And at the very end there is the pin for the electric reverse lockout solenoid on your surge coupler. Make sure that your 5-Way on...

  • Availability of 8 Foot Flat Towing Umbilical with 7-Way on One End and 4-Pole Flat on the Other
There's not an available 7-way to 4-pole flat umbilical like what you're looking for, but I do have some easy solutions for you. The Hopkins Nite-Glow 7-way to 5-way flat coiled adapter, part # HM47025 will work with either a 4-pole or a 5-pole trailer connector. It would plug right into the connector at the front of the towed vehicle provided by the Hopkins Towed Vehicle Wiring Harness you referenced, part # HM56302. If the unused socket bothered you, you could cover it with a small piece...

  • Can Hopkins Heavy-Duty Trailer Coiled Wire Adapter 7-Way to 5-Way be Used for Flat Towing
The Hopkins Heavy-Duty Trailer Coiled Wire Adapter 7-Way to 5-Way Flat with Nite-Glow # HM47025 that you referenced is designed to carry the brake, turns, tail, reverse and ground functions, and is typically used for towing a trailer as opposed to a flat towing setup. I like to recommend the Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 for flat towing vehicles because it is reliable and allows you to install everything you need for flat towing. It sounds like you're trying to use a trailer brake...

  • Is 14 ga. Wire Sufficient for Wiring up a Brake Controller
I would strongly recommend you use a 10 gauge wire in place of the 14 gauge wire as 14 gauge wire is only good for 15 amps which will not be enough for your 2 axle trailer with 4 brake assemblies. For 10 gauge wire you could use our part # 10-1-1. I attached an FAQ article on wiring up a brake controller from scratch for you to check out also.

  • How Many Trailer Brakes Should be Used with a 20 Amp Circuit Breaker or 30 Amp Circuit Breaker
The recommendation for 2 to 4 brakes is a 20 amp circuit breaker, # PK54520, and for 6 to 8 brakes a 30 amp circuit breaker, # 38630, just as you have stated. Usually, you would go with the smallest sized circuit breaker for the system being used. This is so if there is a problem, it can be caught right away. If you plan on towing trailers with 2 to 4 brakes and trailers with 6 to 8 brakes, it would be best to go with the 30 amp circuit breaker as the 20 amp circuit breaker would not...

  • Is Hopkins Coiled Adapter 7-Way To 5-Way And 4-Way Flat, # HM47025, Available In 5 Foot Length
The Hopkins Heavy-Duty Trailer Coiled Wire Adapter 7-Way to 5-Way and 4-Way Flat, # HM47025, is only available in a 3 feet length. I have the RoadMaster 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Kit, # RM-146-7, that is 8 feet long, but you would need to remove the 6-pole plug and attach the Draw-Tite 5-Flat Vehicle End Harness, # 20016, to give you a 5-Flat vehicle end or the Tow Ready 4-Flat Vehicle End Harness, # 18002, to give you a 4-Flat vehicle end. The wires on the 5 pole flat are as follows: White/ground Brown/taillights Yellow/left...

  • Recommendations For 7-Way to 5-Way Trailer Wire Adapters
You can install a 7-way trailer plug on the trailer and only wire the 5 circuits you need based on our FAQ page on wiring, which I have provided a link to. If you go this route, you will need to trace each circuit on the trailer to determine its function and then wire it to the plug accordingly. I have provided a graphic showing the function of each individual circuit on the 7-way trailer plug. You also might need a new adapter to connect your 7-way plug on your vehicle to the 5-way plug...

  • Installing Battery Charge Line for Flat Towed Vehicle with 4-Way Connector
I do have a solution for you, however you won't be able to run a charge line from the 5th pin on the Hopkins Heavy-Duty Trailer Coiled Wire Adapter # HM47025 that you referenced. The 5-Way on this adapter will plug in just fine to the 4-Way on your toad but the open 5th pin carries the reverse light function and not the 12V power circuit from the 7-Way on your RV. In order to add a charge line to your setup the best solution will be to use the Roadmaster 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Kit...
