Worked out pretty good. Had a hard time figuring out just how to attach it. I ended up just zip tieing it. It was a life saver that I could pull the rear plug apart. Made it possible to slide part of the harness thought a tight hole.

Got this to replace the poorly constructed plug that came with the 7pin wiring kit. That plug broke at the spring hinge the second time I used it.
Surprised that Hopkins didn’t include “Butt Connectors” though. Seems a little nickel dimeish.
Had a good experience with Paul who refunded their price for the defective Kit plug as well as refunding the price difference for the wiring kit which had gone from $110 to $48. Overpriced to begin with but convenient.
Paul did real good dealing with a pissed off Old Guy

Plug continues to perform satisfactorily. Happy with Etrailer service.

This was exactly what I needed to convert the factory 4 pin to a combination 4 pin and 7 blade connector. It's been working great with both my trailers.

Really easy to install. Plugs right in to the flat four wiring. I found a decent spot to mount the bracket and finished the installation. 5 minutes max. At this time I didn’t have to wire up a brake controller. That’s going to be a project for a different time. I would definitely recommend this product.

Easy to install and adds 7 pin connecti on.

I just got it a few days ago and it is not installed. But, it came with mounting hardware and bracket, so that is nice. The wire harness also plugs into the main body which is also a nice feature. I also like that it has a secondary 4 pole socket directly below the 7 pole in case you are pulling a utility trailer without brakes. Build quality seems good. It is all plastic, but doesn't seem flimsy at all. I would recommend this product.

Note that a 7 pole has extra circuits for:
1. charging rv or trailer brake battery
2. rv or trailer brakes
3. backup lights (center pole and purple wire)

This receptacle was easy to install and has worked great. No problems at all.

This plug is really made well and works with ease.

This made fast work for pulling my camp er.

This product was installed on my Lexus RX350. I had the dealer perform the installation.

The Service department appreciated the direct connectivity to the existing trailer wire. We added a connection to a 12 volt source.

It was placed directly on the lower part of the bumper. Looks Great and works correctly.

I had to do a little figuring of where I wanted to put it and how to install it on the car, but ultimately it is working fine. The bracket is a little flimsy but if you push it forward with your other hand when putting in the connector it works fine.

The connector is made of high grade material and was engineered very nicely. This was an easy installation as well. The connector was found to be a reliable device and made us feel safe while pulling our equipment.

This, and everything else I ordered from etrailer came without a hitch. They also provided great customer service, answering my question about another product in a timely and complete way.

Perfect fit with factory wiring harness connector.

Everything I have ordered from etrailer has been quality products. I especially like the installation videos which are a great help. It's great they give you frequent updates by e-mail about the status of your order and shipping has been really fast.

Perfect attachment method

Easy to install, this kit was a breeze. I do wish that the install instructions were more informative but that's no biggie if you know your way around a vehicle.

Perfect for connecting the tail lights from my RV to my car on the car dolly.

Great product for hooking up my camper and or trailer with no problems to my 2007 jeep liberty. Recommend this product for people who want do the same.

Better product than expected. Just what the Trailer Doctor Ordered. Thanks.

Great product and great price

Steve D.

I originally felt that this adapter was overpriced but after realizing how simple this made the install it was money well spent

Sent in a timely manner and product is perfect.

Working great

Product arrived in a timely fashion with no surprises! Seems like a quality product but unhappy that I can't buy an American made product even at a
Premium price! Only time will tell how durable the product will be

Produce is good. I have to redo my connection to match plug.

The set up was easy and it works well no issues

  • Parts Needed to Add Brake Controller to 2015 Infiniti QX70
It sounds like you're pretty well set up! I'd recommend the Curt Echo wireless brake controller, part # C51180. The Echo communicates wirelessly with your smart phone, allowing you to control and monitor the performance of your trailer brakes from the vehicle cab whiteout needing extensive wiring and drilling any holes in your dashboard. All you'll need to do is install the # HM11140805 and plug the # HM47180 into it. Ground the white tire to the vehicle. The red wire would be extended...

It sounds like you are needing the Upgraded Circuit Protected Tail Light Converter # 119178KIT for your motorhome. This will allow you to connect to the separate turn signal and brake lights on your motorhome and will combine the turn signal/brake lights for the trailer. This terminates into a 4-way flat connector. The Tekonsha ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness w/ 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector and Installation Kit # 119250KIT is my recommendation for your 2006 Mercedes R-Series. This will give you a working 4-way flat. To get a 7-way connector, you would then just need to add the Hopkins Endurance Multi-Tow 4-Way Flat to 7-Way RV Trailer Adapter w/ 4-Way Vehicle End Plug # HM47180 and make sure the white wire with terminal is grounded to bare metal so your lights can work properly. To wrap up your installation I actually recommend picking up the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56431 and then removing the 7-Way plug and replacing it with the Hopkins 4-Way/7-Way since they both have the US CAR connector at the back. • Is Hopkins or Pollak Better for Trailer Connectors?
Personally, I'm a much bigger fan of Pollak than I am of Hopkins. In my experience, I've had fewer issues with 7-way plug fitting loosely with Pollak brand 7-ways and Pollak is generally the "go-to" brand for most OEM truck setups.  The snag is there isn't a 4-way and 7-way Pollak branded trailer connector currently, but I have some good news. The Hopkins 7 and 4-Pole Trailer Connector, # HM40975, is actually made by Pollak, but sold by Hopkins. This is the same plug I have on my Silverado...

You will want to tape up the extra wires or cut them off if you have no intention of ever using them. This is the simplest and least expensive way to do what you are wanting.

  • Can a Curt Echo Be Powered Off The Trailer Battery On a Travel Trailer?
The problem with running a power wire from your travel trailer battery is there is nothing maintaining the power supply to your trailer battery and when it dies or the power begins to drop your braking can stop working.
