Wiring your car for flat towing has never been easier. No more testing wires or splicing into your electrical system. No need to painstakingly position multiple diodes beneath your vehicle. No worries about voiding your warranty. With this custom-fit towed vehicle wiring kit from Hopkins, all you have to do is plug the harness into your vehicle's existing wiring, which is located behind your car's tail light assemblies. No cutting, tapping, or splicing is required.
After plugging in the wiring harness, use the included bracket to mount the 4-way flat connector at the front of your towed car. An extension loop (sold separately) is required to connect your towed car to your RV.
Because your vehicle has a combined lighting system - wherein the brake signals and the turn signals are carried on a single wire - a brake light relay (RM-88400 - sold separately) may be required if you use a supplemental braking system with your towing setup. A supplemental braking system depresses the brake pedal in your towed car every time you apply the brakes in your RV. So, if your towed car's brake lights illuminate when the brake pedal is pressed and the engine is off - as is the case when towing - then you need to install a relay to ensure that the lights on your towed car always act in accordance with the signals sent by your RV via the wiring harness. Without a relay, the brake signal from your towed car will override the turn signal sent by your RV when you slow down to make turns, creating a potential hazard.

Simple installation and excellent quality product! I installed this harness on my 2018 Jeep Wrangler. After one year it is still performing flawlessly. Don’t do like I did on my first tow vehicle and pay someone hundreds to thousands of dollars to do something so easy. Thank you etrailer and Hopkins for easy to follow instructions and videos!

I am a first time RV owner and was looking for a way to flat tow my Jeep Wrangler. etrailer made it so easy for me to understand what I should be doing and the best and safest way to accomplish it. But that was not all. I was having issues trying to find shipping options as I had a time crunch. I phoned them, customer service was awesome. They helped me place the order and get it to my home within my time requirements. I honestly recommend them and can only wish that other companies could treat customers the way they do here. Awesome! The videos on the product pages are the best!
2013 Jeep Wrangler. Perfect fit. Wires are long enough. No surprises. Recommend a can of foam to seal back light wells.
Michael - 03/31/2022installs in less than an hour perfect for no having a plug on the exterior full time. Mounted the plug bracket under the hood and bought 2 36" extensions and use this to feed my lights from the tow vehicle trailer light plug.
Installation was dirt simple. I wish I’d found this kit 4 years ago when we started flat towing the jeep. Beats the hell out of magnetic tow lights.
Made it easy to wire my 2015 JK for towing. Installation instructions were simple and straightforward.
This was very easy to install on my Wrangler Unlimited and ties in very well with the existing lights. I do recommend purchasing the RoadMaster Relay kit.

Michael N - 12/16/2021This harness works great for flat towing a Jeep Wrangler. The installation was straight forward and easy. It's nice to not have to run magnetic lights from the rear of the Wrangler to the tow vehicle anymore. Now, I just plug in to the adapter on the front aftermarket bumper.

Setting up our 2017 Jeep Wrangler Sport to flat tow behind our motorhome. found your website and employees very helpful and knowledgeable. Received Hopkins wiring kit (#hm56200) and brake light relay kit (#rm88400). I will be ordering base plate, tow bar and supplemental brake system plus the etrailer trailer hitch and wiring for the Jeep from etrailer. Your website was very easy to navigate and the video tutorials most helpful for installing the products you offer. Nothing on other websites can compare to the service you offer. I will be looking forward to ordering and installing the other parts I need to complete my flat tow project from etrailer.
john l - 02/24/2021The kit was a breeze to install and everything fit just like it stated on the instructions. It's as easy as just plug in and go with my 2017 Jeep Wrangler JKU behind my RV. I would highly recommend this product to anyone especially any Jeep owner. etrailer really did their homework on engineering this product for my type of vehicle which made the installation so simple.
Great product easy install. I found out on passenger side it was easier to drill with hole saw to pass wire trough cover .then made gromit out of rubber chiar/table cap .Sliced up side and noched for wires snapped right in. Product works great I would recommend .
Arrived on time and as advertised. Needed some tech help on the wiring and received that as well.
Several miles towing and zero issues!
Also enjoyed the easy installation.

I have a 2017 Jeep Wrangler and needed a way to use the Jeep Tail/Stop/Signal lights. The etrailer staff was very helpful in helping me purchase the correct system.
I had a local RV shop install it. No muss, no fuss.
Works every time I hitch the Jeep up to my 1991 Hawkins Diesel Pusher Motorhome.
I also use the RM-521448-5 Base Plate, RM-676 Nighthawk Tow Bar and the SM99243 SMI Air Force One Brake system for Air Brakes. 5 Stars!
