    • Provides 4-way flat plug at front of towed car to connect to motor home
  • Plugs in quickly and easily - no cutting or splicing of wires
    • Connection points are located behind your vehicle's tail lights
  • Prevents electrical feedback to safeguard towed car's electrical system
    • Weatherproof box keeps built-in diodes protected
  • Won't interfere with electrical system when towed car is not hooked up to RV
  • Custom designed for your vehicle
  • Includes wiring harness, mounting bracket, and installation hardware
    • Extension loop for connecting towed car to RV is sold separately
    • Brake light relay (RM-88400 - sold separately) may be required if used with supplemental braking system
  • 90-Day warranty

Wiring Your Towed Car with Hopkins

Wiring your car for flat towing has never been easier. No more testing wires or splicing into your electrical system. No need to painstakingly position multiple diodes beneath your vehicle. No worries about voiding your warranty. With this custom-fit towed vehicle wiring kit from Hopkins, all you have to do is plug the harness into your vehicle's existing wiring, which is located behind your car's tail light assemblies. No cutting, tapping, or splicing is required.

After plugging in the wiring harness, use the included bracket to mount the 4-way flat connector at the front of your towed car. An extension loop (sold separately) is required to connect your towed car to your RV.

Do You Need a Brake Light Relay?

Because your vehicle has a combined lighting system - wherein the brake signals and the turn signals are carried on a single wire - a brake light relay (RM-88400 - sold separately) may be required if you use a supplemental braking system with your towing setup. A supplemental braking system depresses the brake pedal in your towed car every time you apply the brakes in your RV. So, if your towed car's brake lights illuminate when the brake pedal is pressed and the engine is off - as is the case when towing - then you need to install a relay to ensure that the lights on your towed car always act in accordance with the signals sent by your RV via the wiring harness. Without a relay, the brake signal from your towed car will override the turn signal sent by your RV when you slow down to make turns, creating a potential hazard.

Instructions were wrong. Wires were too long no tape in box. And I now other than that it’s fine. have to buy an adapter cord to plug it in.

by:

Easy plug and play. I cut the 4pin connector off and wired a 6 pin socket with battery caharge line to be compatible with my tow vehicle and other TOADS

2004 Jeep Wrangler

This was a breeze to install!! About 30 min and I had working lights on my Jeep and was ready to hook it up behind my motorhome. Price was great too. Stopped at my local RV dealer and he said he could get me a wiring kit for $250! Saw this one online for $50 bucks and took a chance. Sure glad I did! Disconnect a couple of plugs, plug in new harness, route the wires to the front and BOOM! Ready for the trip! Thanks guys!

Quality product, purchased a year ago. Installed in my Jeep in roughly 30 min give or take. The directions were easy to read and understand. I highly recommended this product to anyone wanting to wire in taillight for flat tow. You can’t beat the price for a good quality kit like this, a year later and still works flawlessly. This is a true plug and play product. Why pay a shop top $$$ when you can install a hopkins kit in an afternoon. Good job hopkins

by:

2001 Jeep Wrangler

This wiring harness was exactly what I was looking for so that I could tow my jeep behind my RV. No cutting, just plug and play (er I mean tow). There was plenty of extra wiring at the front end so that I could route through the engine bay and mount under the front bumper so it was out of site but easily accessible. Worked perfectly!

by:

Excellent product with outstanding price. Easily installed. I highly recommend this wiring harness . It has been installed and has worked well for over one year.

2003 Jeep Wrangler

From an installation perspective it is plug-and-play and is relatively easy to install. However, the first one I received was defective. There was a problem with the diode pack. The defect caused both lights in the towed vehicle to flash when applying the right signal in the towing vehicle. Kudos to the folks at eTrailer for sending another quickly. I tested the replacement and all functions worked with only one seemingly minor observation, with running lights on either side signal causes a slight dimming pulsation in the other, not-blinking tail light. It shouldn’t be enough to confuse other drivers of your intention. Having to install the harness twice was a huge pain.
My 2003 wrangler brake light function is active with ignition off. This means that the brake lights overrode signals. I with the product info alerted me to this problem. I now need to disable the brake lights in my Jeep when in tow mode. This is probably a common issue. I ordered a relay but have not installed it yet. Having to reinstall the harness again I feel rushed so the relay will have to wait and in the mean time I will pull the fuse when towing.
