Today we're going to take a quick look at the Kodiak 11" Rotor. This is going to attach to your idler hub and convert it from just an idler axle to a disc brake axle so you could actually have some brakes on your trailer. This is just going to be a single rotor. So it's either going to be a replacement for a rotor that's already damaged, or rusted out. Or, you can get several of these to replace a whole system. There no need to replace your whole hub and rotor assembly if only your hub, or rotor, becomes damaged. So if you have just one portion that you need to replace you can just switch out the rotor.
So it makes it a little simpler, little bit less expensive when it comes to maintenance and longevity of your system. Now, the distance from the hub face to hub face will increase by approximately 1/2". You can see on the side there'll be these vents here. That helps to dissipate heat, keep our disc brakes from burning up faster and help to prevent any of that heat related damage. It's made of a cast iron construction. So it's going to give us good friction to stop our trailer.
It does have just a standard automotive raw finish. Now this is going to work for axles with a capacity of 9,000-10,000 pounds, and the axle type AL-KO Rockwell. It works for wheel sizes 15" and larger. The outer diameter of the rotor is a little over 11", it's 11.35. Or a little over 11-1/4" wide. The bold hole diameters, you can see at the back we'll have our bolt holes all around.
We'll have eight total. The diameter on each of those is 1/2". And this inner hole diameter, switch my ruler back here, is about 5-1/4".It does come with a three year warranty from Kodiak. That's going to do it for our look at the Kodiak 11" Rotor.
