Weatherproof wiring and steel mounting table.My problem was that the controller went out on my Kwikee step on my 05 National Dolphin motor home. That controller is no longer manufactured so etrailer/kwikee wanted to sell me a whole new step mechanism. I could not get anybody at etrailer or kwikee (now Lippert) to tell me how the new controller was different from the old. It seemed like they knew more than they would tell me. Finally another motorhome owner on IRV2 sent me some kwikee literature that told me the exact differences. The use of the manual switch (to hold the step out or have it retract) using the new controller worked in reverse of the way it was used on the old controller. Also the drive wires to the step motor had been reversed. So after many fruitless phone calls to etrailer and kwikee (with this minor literature) I reversed the drive wires to the step motor, learned to use the manual switch in the opposite way, and everything worked. Although I cut and re-soldered the motor wires, I later found a place that sold a connector that did the wire reverse (local store). I also discovered it was possible to just take the wires out of the plastic connector to the motor and reverse them. I would have thought that etrailer would have known that it was so simple to use the new controller on the old step mechanism. Oh, also the new controller didn't fit where the old controller did, but there is lots of room under the step so I mounted it in a new place. Saved myself several hundred dollars.
The Kwikee step replacement Kit for 25 Series IMGL/9510, Control - LC379804 fit my 2012 Winnebago Vista 35F step perfectly. I extended the stairs and then It was easy and quick to install, just remove the connecting rod and four bolts. I had now need for the control electronics, but buying this combination saved me about $180 over the cost of buying just the main plate with motor and mounting parts!
My order arrived really fast - 3 days after placing the order. The parts fit perfectly. All I had to do was remove the old unit, disconnect the wires. and reverse the procedure to install the new one. Took me 30 minutes.
My old unit had striped the gears. The new step mechanism included the controller, hardware and instructions . After doing the installation I did some test runs with the steps. That's where I think I figured out why the old one failed. I think the old controller wasn't turning off the power quick enough when the steps got to the end of their run; this caused too much stress on the gears.
The best part of my order was etrailer.com had a great price.

This replacement motor assembly was easy to order, shipped quickly and arrived on time. I was told by our local RV dealer that I would not be able to find parts for the 25 Series stairs but thankfully they were wrong. I will definitely recommend my friends to check out etrailer.com to find parts for their RV’s.
Timothy - 07/19/2021Kit arrived on the promised date in perfect shape. Installed it the next day. In place of the control unit from the kit, I used control unit 363982 which is a higher current limit unit. The step retracts and extends perfectly and is very quiet. Just like new. I also lubed all the moving joints with Kwik-Lube and used di-electric grease in the electrical connections. I could not be happier with these products.

Dennis R - 08/21/2020I was very happy that this upgrade kit was available. My step is too new to need the upgrade as it was built in 2006 but the large gear had bad teeth on it and replacement part is not available.
I used this kit for the gear and it worked perfect!
Now I have an extra controller.
Contrary to the manufacturers description, there is no door switch in the kit. The short wires in the kit go to the motor.
Dan V - 05/12/2020Web site was easy to navigate and order. The part came as promised. I installed it with out and issues. The problem was ware on the gear on the motor and the teeth of the matching wheel.
Is it possible to bye a gear that goes on the motor? It would be good to carry it when the steps stop working next time.

This item arrived on time and installed quick and easy. I't too bad that you can't order just the parts you need (gears in my case) it could have been a lot cheaper. I did have some issues with my payment, their system would not let me complete my transaction using a Canadian credit card (Canadian billing address) and shipping it to Hemet California (US shipping address) I had to us a PayPal account to complete the order.

My original 25 Series step, approximately 3 years old, started making a loud noise and was not retracting or extending all the way without help. My order arrived today and i installed the new Kwikee 25 Series step and control unit. It was simple to follow the provided instructions and now works as good as new.
