Steel Lug Nut Inserts
This aluminum wheel comes with steel inserts in the lug nut wells. The inserts are pressed into the aluminum, and they help prevent the holes from wearing down over time. This ensures that the wheel stays secured to your trailer hub and that you won't have to constantly retorque the lug nuts.
Westlake Radials
This radial ply tire from Westlake is constructed with double steel belts and double polyester cords for increased durability. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation.
The standard tread on this tire has solid, continuous ribs, and there are very few sipes (or thin grooves) cut into the rubber. This tire is designed for use on trailers, so it doesn't require the level of traction that would be needed on a vehicle that is braking or steering.
Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires
Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.
- If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
- If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
- If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
- If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

My RV didn't come with a spare tire. etrailer was the only place where I could get a matching tire with a rim already installed at a reasonable price and without ridiculous shipping charges (shipping was free). I ordered the wheel & tire combination for our Coachman travel trailer that needed to be replaced after a blow out damaged the original wheel. The dealer told us it would be 4-8 weeks before we could get one from them. I checked the etrailer.com & found the set for a lesser price. Once I ordered, it was out of stock. These wheels are very nice. They really changed the image of my trailer. good quality stuff too. It's a 12' single axle flatbed trailer, nothing fancy, but it looks really good with these wheels, and tire combo. I use it to tow ATVs, dirt bikes, and SXS for off-road recreational activities and haven't had any issues towing my trailer around with these wheels and tires in really tough terrain, as well as long-distance drives and looking good doing it (Barstow, Ridgecrest, Glamis, etc... from Riverside CA. county hundreds of miles, wheels and tires still going strong (knock on wood)). I highly recommend these.

When I got the tire and rim I was in Pennsylvania. By the time I got home and found out that the rim was a 6 bolt and not a 5 bolt, the return time frame expired. I called e trailer
without any luck at just trading for the right size rim.
Now I’m stuck with wrong rim and tire.
I must confess, that I ordered the wrong rim size. (My bad!) I was just hoping that etrailer would be a little more forgiving on return policy.

The tires and wheels came quickly and in good shape. No issues with anything and they look great on my trailer. The reason I gave only 4 stars is because I took them down to my tire man and had him balance them. I always balance my trailer tires because it helps keep the bouncing down when the trailer is empty. The one wheel took 2.5 ounces of weight and the other 3. If tires would have been under 2 ounces I would have given the tires/wheels a 5 star rating. The tires and wheels really made the old trailer look good.

When the tire is mounted to the wheel, the high (heavy) spot on the wheel is matched to the low (light) spot on the tire, which leaves the wheel and tire somewhat balanced.
