Video Transcript for Review of Maxxair RV Vent and Fan Parts - Replacement Lift Motor - MA10-20270

Ellen: Hey, everybody. I'm Ellen here and we're going to be taking a quick look at the replacement lift motor for your MaxxFan Plus roof vent. So if something's happened with that roof vent, it's gotten damaged, or it's just not working anymore, but you don't want to replace the whole thing. Everything else is working just fine. This is a way to keep that fan working for many more years without having to take out that whole unit and replace it with a completely new fan unit system. So let's take a closer look and make sure it's the right fit.

Just has this little plug that goes into the connection to the rest of the fan. And we'll have our two arms to connect into those mechanisms to lift and lower that vent lid. Works with several different models of fans. The list of those is on our product page here at so you can check with that to make sure that yours is a match for it. And this will be for obviously the electric fans, not the manual. It does not come with any mounting hardware so you will need to reuse the mounting hardware from the original to get this in place.

But that's really about all there is to it for our look at the replacement lift motor for your MaxxFan Plus roof vent. Hope this video's been helpful in deciding if this is the right part for you. We do have a lot of other replacement parts available here at and we also do have new fan units as well. So if you need to go down that road, we got you covered. Thanks for watching..

Works great and a perfect replacement

Fit was perfect. Easy repair. Much better option than replacing the whole vent assembly.

Quick easy ordering and install

Worked as advertised

Lasted less than 2 months and this motor seized up.

The product worked as expected and much better than the one it replaced.

A direct replacement. Works well and I had no problems installing it.

Part was true to description
earlier than expected.

I thought the part was no longer available, but they had it in stock, shipped promptly, and it works great.

Easy order, fast delivery and took 15 minutes to install.
Thanks so much and we'll be back for future needs.

Perfect fit.

Kimberly and the price match team did a great job!

Thank you

I replaced the lift motor to no avail! I guess there something else wrong! The lid still won’t open could you tell me what I need to replace now?

Thank you for your review. I recommend to change the operator mechanism. That is the most common component to fail and will not allow the lid to lift. The part MA10-20281K-1AF operator mechanism fits models 4500K - 4900K, 4700N, and 4900N.

I purchased a motor and gear assembly for my MaxxAir kitchen fan. With your on-site exploded view I was able to order the exact parts I needed. Delivery was timely and the installation went in without any issues. You have earned my future business. Well done.

This vent lid drive motors don't seem to hold up well. This is my second replacement in 3.5 years. Granted it does get used a lot in the master bath in our Momentum 397TH since we are full timing it these days. This time I used my go to RV parts vender etrailer. Though I'm sure this unit will fail again (I bought 2 this time) etrailer always comes through in a easy and timely manner again and again.

Easy to replace, this motor was a great buy compared to replacing the entire fan system.

I have ordered a few things from etrailer and have been pleased with them. Website is easy to use. And they have a ton of parts for your trailers. Thanks

The motor was an expect replacement and fixed my problem. The customer service reps at etrailer are a pleasure to work with because they know their stuff. I recommend this business.

etrailer promptly corrected my error on the delivery address. Parts arrived in record time! Parts were an exact fit.

I received the parts two day ups. Lift motor and mother board were as I ordered. Easy to install, about 15 minutes for both. All work great. The prices are reasonable and a lot cheaper including 2 day shipping cost, than the local parts house.

Your products and service are always above par and prices are great. The only draw back is that you use USPS for your deliveries. Which in our area are terrible.

Great service, shipped quick. Updates of shipping progress is nice to know when it is promised to arrive.

Simple and easy repair. Direct replacement for our fan.

Just an average transaction. Shipping took 10 days. Motor made in China.

  • How to Get to Replacement Lift Motor on MaxxFan RV Vent
While I don't have direct instructions about replacing the Lift Motor # MA10-20270, I can tell you how to gain access to the lift motor. You want to start by removing the screen on your MaxxFan. This is done by rotating the 4 locking tabs 180 degrees (red arrows). Once the screen is out of the way there will be 4 screws that you see. Remove them as well as the screw from the manual lift knob (green arrow). After you do this the bottom panel of your vent will move freely down and you have...

  • Replacing Fan Motor on Trailer Vent with MA10-20270
I checked with the manufacturer and the tiny screw you're seeing is a set screw. You will use an Allen wrench/key to remove this. I'm attaching a picture with a set of installation instructions for you to refer to when you're replacing the MaxxFan Lift Motor # MA10-20270 . We don't have the new/updated instructions available, but where it refers to a nut holding the blades on to the motor shaft, this is now a set screw like you're seeing. All of the other steps will remain the same.

  • Troubleshooting A Maxxair Fan 3540K Automatic That Won't Stop After Closing Lid
I spoke with the manufacturer and based on your issue the gears are most likely stripped out and can't sense that its reached the end so you'll need the Replacement Lift Motor for Maxx Fan Plus Roof Vent # MA10-20270. • Solution for MaxxFan Roof Lid that Stopped Opening with Switch
Sounds like the lift motor needs to be replaced as it's no longer able to raise the vent lid. For that you'd want the part # MA10-20270. Since you are able to lift the lid manually it wouldn't be the operator. If this were the problem it would either make noise like you mentioned or wouldn't allow you to manually lift it.

In order to test the motor on a MaxxAir MaxxFan similar to the Mini Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan - Manual Lift - 4 Speed - White # MA00-04301M you'll need to supply power directly to the motor itself; if the motor works when it receives power directly from the battery then the issue would be your touch pad or control board. • Troubleshooting the Vent Lid and Parts Needed For the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan
