The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The housing and lens are sonically sealed together to create a single unit, which means that water will not get into the light and damage the diodes or circuit board.
A P2-rated light produces a 45-degree angle of light to either side of its centerline for a total of 90 degrees of coverage. This beam pattern can be seen straight on, but it cannot be seen clearly from the side. So this type of light can be used as either a side marker light or a clearance light, but it cannot function as both. If you need both functions, then you must install 2 separate lights on your trailer - one as a front or rear clearance light and one as a side marker light.

Driving home in the dark last night with three lamps in bad order was not fun.

I bought these lights as a replacement on my boat trailer and they have worked well. I have had no issues with water inleakage during the loading and unloading of my boat. They were also very easy to install.
I had a difficult time finding these Trailer marker lights. E-Trailer had them in stock and delivered them quickly. I'm very happy, the match is perfect and i highly recommend E-Trailer for your parts needs.
These lights were a logical, direct replacement for the original incandescent marker lights on my boat trailer. Since the boat is used almost exclusively in saltwater, the sealed light housings were a must. Only time will tell how long they last. I replaced the original incandescent tail light assemblies (they didn't last even one year) on this boat trailer with Optronics LED units about 8 years ago and they have performed well. That good experience with the Optronics brand led me to this purchase.
All items are as they are advertised. Arrived within the timeframe stated. They have stuff others do not carry. etrailer is good to deal with, and they make things good which fall through the cracks, as things sometimes do. Wrong part or whatever.
Easy Install, would like to see stainless fasteners… Backing plate/ bezel is SS. Bought amber as well as red lenses.

I want to thank you for all your help with my trailer you were more helpful than you realize. So this is my trailer for a 22' Flats Cat shallow draft Catamaran. I totally dismantled my trailer and buffed by hand with a wire buffer and sand blasted in some spots and applied multiple coats of some very expensive galvanize paint (Z.R.C.). I installed all new C. E. Smith Carpet (about 80'), seven new LED waterproof lights, new springs, new equalizers, new tongue jack, new wench, new safety chain, new chain brackets, all new SS hardware and a 35' long wiring harness.
I was able to send only one review with a picture of the safety chain and brackets. I'm having a little trouble with the rest..oh some of these items were bought locally or from your competitors, until I found ETRAILER. Your prices were cheaper for the exact same things. Your helpful how to videos were helpful. And Rose, your personal helpful knowledge made my buying experience very pleasant, I actually enjoyed talking to you! I bought these light for a pull behind motorcycle trailer build I was doing and I am pleased to say they have been great! They have been on the trailer for about a year now and I have travelled with the trailer for about 3500 miles now towing it behind my motorcycle. No problems or issues. They draw very little power which is great for a motorcycle charging system.
Very bright, very easy install; only reason for 4 stars is bc I just installed them and can't speak for their longevity; I drilled a small hole in my trailer next to the main mounting hole to poke the wire through, so as not to see the wire; looked very nice.

Horacecarter - 02/16/2020Very easy to install and look great on trailer. Low profile and small but very bright LED's. They really look much better than the old bulb type I had on there before. I have not "dunked" them in the salt water yet but hopefully they will hold up.
Mark B - 08/26/2014Lights were easy to install on rear steel plate of trailer. 3 holes drilled per light (2 for mounting, 1 for wire access). Lights are bright and very visible in daylight conditions. Lights are protected by design of rear steel plates. Very satisfied.
Product arrived well packaged and on time. Used them to light up my running boards on a Ram 3500 (went a little retro) Ran these to my 4 pin trailer Harness and they work great. Love the look. Have already recommended to someone else that liked mine. Would order again.
Great product and last a long time. I installed them on my watercraft trailer in 2012. One red just went out due to my negligence, if not for that, it would still be working. I highly recommend Optronis products.

Outstanding product. Used these to go "retro" and put on my Ram running Boards. Easy install. Just made some holes in pinch weld - ran to 4 pin trailer connection and BAM - all good. Lights delivered quickly and in great shape. Recommend this product.
