Video Transcript for Review of MORryde Handrail For First Generation 3 Steps - MR93RR

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com, and today, we're gonna take a look at this handrail for the first generation 3-step MORryde steps. This handrail is going to install on your first generation 3-step MORryde RV steps, giving you extra stability, so you can safely climb in and out of your travel trailer or fifth wheel. Now, this only works with the first generation MORryde StepAbove and StepAbove with strut-assist, and Quick Connect quad step models. Now, if you are not sure if you have the first or second generation, an easy way to tell is that the first generation steps uses a removable pin to adjust and lock the legs in place, and the second generation steps have a button that releases the legs for the adjustment. So if you have the removable pin, this handrail is going to work for your steps. Now, this is going to easily install on the left hand side of the steps to the step's existing rib nuts with the included hardware that I have right here.

And the good news is there is no drilling required to install these steps. Now, the handle will fold into your doorway along with your steps when you're ready to roll, and you do need 33 inches of clearance inside of your camper for when you fold your steps along with the handrail inside of your camper. This is made in the USA of durable steel with a really nice and I think durable black powder coat finish that's going to resist corrosion and withstand the elements really well, I believe. And let me lay this up here or lean this up against my wall here real quick, we're gonna pull out my tape measure, and give you just some overall dimensions. So the overall height at the tallest point here, we are sitting right at about 38 5/16 inches tall, and then at the widest point, we're sitting pretty close to, close to 13 inches it looks like, and then this has a diameter of an inch.

So again, this is for the first generation, and we talked briefly about how you can determine if you have the first or the second generation steps. If you are looking for the handrail for the second generation 3-step MORryde steps and you've determined that's what you have, on your screen, I am including our item number to the handrail for the second generation 3-step steps. So you can just take that item number that you see on your screen, put it in the search field of our website here at etrailer.com, and it will take you to that handrail. Well, that's gonna conclude our brief look today, I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me..

I have 2000 Chinook RV with a mostly decorative acrylic handle on the back. I was going to be traveling for 10 days with my mom--who is in her late 60s with two replaced knees and a previously broken hip--and knew that handle was not going to cut it for her to actually use getting up the steps. I tried hiring a local welder to fabricate a custom hand rail for me, but they all blew me off. I do not have a MORyde step system but thought the design of this could work with what I do have. And it did! The plan was to use it for the trip with my mom then remove it. We didn't get to take the long trip for other mechanical reasons, but I love the hand rail so much I left it on and it's still there 11 months later. I use it every single time I go up or down the steps. I use it to pull myself up off the ground when working on a project below the rear of the RV. It is wonderful! My mom and dad have both now taken shorter trips with me, and they also love it and relied on it for safely climbing into/out of the RV. Some other members of our Chinook Club saw it at a rally or the online group and have added it to their to-do list. Some have already bought and installed it too. While I can't comment on how it works with the correct steps, it works wonderfully the way I needed it to. We added one extra bolt hole and upgraded to slightly longer stainless steel bolts. It's sturdy, feels secure and has weathered well. It still looks new! The price was a fraction of what a welder would have charged to build a custom rail, and now I'm the proud owner of heavy duty drill bits and skill drilling through a steel plate to install it.

Great addition to our back steps of our RV. Quick shipping, fair price. Thanks!

We changed out the rail on our new camper and added this one to the main entrance. We took the old one and put it on the bedroom (less used) entrance. The rail is sturdy, easy to install and a quality product which helps us in getting in and out of our camper safely. Highly recommend.

I'm only giving a 3 star because customer service was GREAT! The box I received was beat up and was evident that it had been sent back as a return. The hand rail was manufactured incorrectly, not etrailers fault, but I am sure it was a return for the same reason and was sent out again as a new unit.

Problem with holes not lining up. Had to drill new hole . Not worth the money.

This hand rail works with 1st generation MORryde StepAbove, StepAbove with strut-assist, and Quick Connect quad step models. Do you have one of those steps listed?

Hi ,thank you for response. Yes I purchased morryde steps from etrailer. Item number MR48RR.

I have gotten confirmation that your steps part # MR93RR is a Second-Generation Step, and will not fit with the Handrail for the First-Generation part # MR48RR. The first- and second-generation steps are built slightly different so they would not be able to fit each other. You would need the Handrail for the Second-Generation Steps part # MR83AR in order for them to line up properly.
