Fits perfect! New Toad, New baseplate, new factory plug-in lighting electrical harness but it came with a four pin plug incompatible with old jumper coil harness. Easy installation. I added 2 large washers under sheet metal screws used by BlueOx to attach and reinforce the mounting holes as some reviews had cracking around baseplate holes. Same type used on Prior Toad never had any issues but why not spread the load with larger washers.

by:

It appears to be a very durable unit. My previous plastic unit broke.

There could be better pictorial installation details that correlate with the written instructions.

by:

Replaced original cracked plastic plug (4 years old) that came with blue ox tow system. Love the strudy metal. Unfortunately, the diameter of the oepning for the plug is just a bit too large. Plug fully seats so that tab on underside of spring-loaded lid engages, but the weight of the coil cord back to motorhome tilts the plug down a few degrees (due to too-large opening). This position disengages the retaining tab on the outlet's lid, and vibrations can easily pop the plug out. I'm currently running with 3 zipties to hold the plug in firmly while I figure out a replacement. Not going to keep cutting zipties off at every stop. I'm surprised that no one else seems to have run into this problem.

by:

I gave the poor rating for the same reason that I had to buy this socket to replace our original one. The pin that holds the lid and spring slides out and you lose the lid. The replacement when received already had the pin slid out past one side. This time I slid it back and put a dab of jb weld on each side to keep it in place.

Excellent metal connector used to replace a plastic connector that failed. Very heavy duty construction on this metal connector that should last forever. The brass split male connectors are also very well made heavy duty construction.

by:

Exactly what I needed! Easy install works beautifully! Thanks

by:

I purchased this part to replace an similar one from Roadmaster which has a plastic housing. The Roadmaster front car plug was part of a wiring kit. All wire connectors rusted heavily in less than a year making the plug unsafe to use aND can no longer be serviced. I live in North Florida, maybe the Roadmaster products should only be used in Arizona.
This new part will most likely rust similarly, so I will apply a heavy coating of liquid electrical tape. And hope for the best.

by:

Good quality trailer plug. I used this for the lighting connection on the tailgate of a stacker trailer (race car trailer) and it saw a lot of use over the past year. None of the pins have broken or bent, no connection issues at all. Very satisfied.

by:

Yes ma'am, every thing is good. I just told a friend of mine about y'all, he has a few trailers to repair. He'll probably be ordering from you soon. Thanks for checking on me :-)

Comments
Yes both products still perfectly. It has been a pleasure doing business with you.

This product works perfect for our vehicles we pull our small trailer with. It allows us to also use it on our motorcycles and maintain a clean look instead of having a wire and plug hanging down. etrailer is punctual and efficient with customer care, answers to questions and delivery. Keep up the good work ET

by:

Quality build, easy to wire up, still in great shape a year later. Do recommend.

by:

order was received relatively quick worked fine

by:

I needed a conector that would be built to hold up to weekly use and this item did not disappoint. I installed it on my farm tractor and my fuel transfer tank to make refueling my tractor quick and easy. Found this to be a quality built connector at a good price and supper fast shipping.

by:

Excellent product. Well made and easy to install.

by:

This worked just fine . Couple of weeks ago took trailer from central Ohio. To Pigeon Forge . Tn . Every thing worked fine . I put this on to go out west . I pulled my camper out to Washington state , Down to Disneyland , back route 66 .

by:

I got everything I needed to wire my Ford Ranger to be able to pull it behind my RV. The instructions were simple so I had no problem installing. It's saved me a great deal of money by being able to do it myself.

by:

eTrailer is the greatest! Great selection, best prices, fabulous communication from order to delivery AND fast trackable shipping.
All the reasons I keep buying from them.
Oh yea, the plug is just what I wanted

by:

Used this as a replacement and it worked very well. The wiring has been improved for ease of use. I would recommend this adapter

by:

Perfect replacement for existing connector. Easy to install, and solid when mounted.

You will need to remove this screw completely and pull/twist the collar to remove it for access to the pins for attaching your wiring. • Is There a Reverse Wire on 6-Way Connector
As you can see by the accompanying diagram I added, a 6-way such as the Pollak # PK11609 does not have a function for reverse lights; that function is on a 7-way so you would not connect the wire you referenced to your trailer connector. A 6-way has the following functions: 1) Tail/Running Lights 2) Left Turn/Stop 3) Right Turn/Stop 4) Brake Controller Output 5) 12V Power 6) Ground. I have also added a link to a help article on wiring I highly recommend checking out.

  • Solution for Gooseneck Trailer Brakes that Lock Up When Connected to Tow Vehicle
If your trailer has a 6-way connector like a lot of gooseneck trailers do the issue is that the 12 volt power and brake output circuits are sometimes swapped since some people wire them both ways. The solution is to swap the two circuits if you find yourself in a situation where the brakes lock when a trailer is connected. On a 6-way the circuits are the pins in the center and 10:00 facing opening of socket on tow vehicle.

  • Troubleshooting 6-Way Trailer Wiring That Displays Constant Power on Trailer Brake Circuit
A 6-way trailer connector can be wired in one of two ways. One way is to have the center pin wired to carry the +12V trailer power feed. The other is to have the center pin carry the trailer brake circuit. It sounds like you may have a vehicle and trailer that do not share the same wiring configuration. If this is the case you can install a vehicle side socket like # PK11609 and wire it to match the pin assignments on the trailer. An article on trailer wiring is linked for reference. Another...

I recommend going down to the area near where your base plates are mounted as there will likely be part of the frame you can use to screw the bracket into; you could also attach the bracket to the fascia and it would also be secure.
