Ellen: Hey, everybody. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and we're going to be taking a quick look at the pacer brake logic module. Now, this allows you to add in a third or center brake light on your trailer or your vehicle. So if you want to put this on an RV or really anything else, and you're adding in that third brake light, this allows you to do that. Basically what it does is it allows you to tap into your wiring from the factory or from maybe a four-pole wiring harness, and it'll filter out the turn signals so that you're not getting a flash on that center brake. You're only going to get the brake signal, so it only comes on when you hit the brakes, rather than coming on if the turn signals are activated. So it just is pretty simple to wire up.
You might want to watch out for putting too much power through this. Some customers have said that if you put through more than 1.5 amps, it won't work, so just keep that in mind. Will work out pretty well for most LED lights, though, since they have a pretty low power draw. There's just three wires to worry about. The green wire is what's going to actually go to your center brake light, and then you'd want to, of course, ground that brake light out. The other two wires, one is going to go to your right turn signal.
The other is going to go to your left turn signal. It doesn't really matter which wire you use. They're just there to get the signal and then filter it out so that brake signal can work. This little guy is just that kind of the brains of the operation, so you want to make sure that maybe you zip tie this off to some existing wiring or just kind of zip tie it off to something so that it's not bouncing around all over the place, but it should be pretty straightforward as far as that goes. This can be used on any kind of domestic vehicle that uses a single filament bulb. You just really want to use this any time you're using a single light as that third brake light.
So maybe again, you're adding in a LED strip to your truck or another vehicle, and adding in that third brake light function, this allow you to use that and not have it flash. As far as the size, give you some quick measurements here. We'll get about nine and a half inches of wire to work with, call it about nine of really usable length there. And the little module itself, it's just about an inch or 7/8 of an inch long and about 5/8 or maybe 3/4 of an inch in diameter. So pretty small, pretty easy to set up just about anywhere you want to.Now, if you need some butt connectors to go with this, you can find a lot of options here at etrailer.com. I would probably suggest using the pink ones.
Those will be for your smaller gauge wire, which this looks like it's about 18 gauge, so that will probably do you. If you're connecting it to anything that's a little bigger, you probably want to go with the blue, which is for 16 to 14 gauge wire, but you can find all of those here at etrailer.com to go with this install.I hope this has been helpful in deciding if this is going to be the right part for you. We do have a lot of other lighting accessories and wiring here at etrailer.com for all kinds of stuff, so check it out. Thanks for watching.

This light module filters out unwanted turn signal input from tail lights to ensure your 3rd brake light activates only when brakes are applied. Required when using a single light as a third brake light.Logic module wired as directed allowed 3rd brake light to work perfectly on camper shell. I plug a 4 way trailer connector into the already installed 4 way plug on my Ford truck, run the wires up my truck body and the wires end in another trailer ‘female’ plug. A second ‘male’ plug is wired to the camper shell and includes the logic module so when my camper shell is mounted on my truck it’s a quick 4 way plug in to be legal with a working 3rd brake light.
The cost of this was just the logic module - cheap - the cost to go to installer and have this set up done professionally over $100 - thanks etrailer
Quick and simple installation - works like a charm. I used it to add a third brake light behind the spare tire of my classic Bronco. Some folks said it may not work with LED brake lights, but that's what I have on my Bronco and it worked just fine.
Wired up easy and now my campertop 3rd brake light works perfect.
Did not work on 2019 2500 Sierra Denali. Using on an ARE camper shell. Left side works but 3rd brake light flashes with right turn signal. I tied it into trailer 7 way plug for sources.
I'm a retired truck driver. I get a little fanatical about lights. I wanted a third brake light for my trailer. This piece makes it possible. Works out great.
If you own a 2020 or newer RAM this us not needed. Brake wire is in harness in front of bumper. White wire with purple stripe for topper brake light.
Didn’t work for me, third brake light on truck topper blinks with turn signals. Can’t recommend this one.
I was skeptical of this module before purchasing because I didn't know about it. Have used other brands to perform these 3rd brake wiring functions previously. Soldered it between 4-pin connector and rear tail/brake light. Simple install and works great.
I was a little skeptical being as far down the system as this part was going to be installed that it would work correctly that there would be a flicker of turn signal in the brake light and there is not! It works perfectly and there's a tremendous timesaver for me. etrailer.com sets The standard in customer service. I bought a $15 part the total order was $20 and they babysat it all the way to my door and checked in frequently to make sure that I was happy. I bought a pair of fenders from them in the past and they treated me the same way this company is how business should be done.
The third brakelight module was easy to install, and works great, to isolate the high brake light on our Leer camper shell. The third light comes on with the service brake lights and 4-way flashers, but is properly isolated from the turn signals. It is a win-win.
Junk! Wasted a lot of time and wire terminals hooking this up exactly as directed to find out it doesn't work. Will wait and see if etrailer.com makes this right. Do not recommend.
Bought for a camper shell on 2001 F150. Powering through 4-wire trailer plug. works but uses small gauge wire.
Installed this module to make a third, high mounted stop light work on my trailer. Easy installation and good instructions.
This works on a 2013 Chevy 1500 Silvera do.
Worked like charm for a 3rd brake light on my pop up truck camper
easy install
Installed this inline with my third brake light on a camper shell. Product worked just as described. The test will come this winter after driving on salted roads
Works good. Has questionable reviews on a different online site but I think it’s just people who wired it incorrectly. Requires the input of both tail lights for the logic circuit to work. you need to have dual filament bulbs for tail lights, and then have a led third tail light as well. So if you don’t want to find or don’t have a constant break light wire handy easy way to tap into the factory tail lights.
This is a trailer-side connector and pigtail; will use it with truck's factory trailer connector socket to power truck camper's license plate light, and also an aftermarket third eye stoplight (in conjuction with a logic module). Good quality, perfect fit.
PRODUCT DIDN'T WORK. I AM A PROFESSIONAL INSTALLER. PRODUCT DIDN'T WORK AT ALL. INSTEAD OF GOING THROUGH THE HEADACHE OF TRYING TO RETURN I ORDERED A TEKONSHA 2 TO 3 TAIL LIGHT CONVERTER AND USED THAT INSTEAD. THREW THIS ONE IN THE GARBAGE. MORE MONEY BUT BETTER QUALITY.
Product ordered was lost in the mail. Customer service was excellent and I received a full refund. The part then arrived the following day, almost 2 weeks after ordering. They have not indicated I would be re-invoiced, and although not a real expensive part, the fact they followed up on this matter was just great customer service. Will do business with them again. Highly recommended!
The 3rd Brake Light Logic Module was just installed, and works as described. One word of caution is that if you exceed the output, ( I found it to be about 1.7 amps) the 3rd light will not work. I installed a relay, triggered by the module , that switches higher amps to the 3rd light and it works perfectly.
if you change your trailer lighting over to LED and have a third (center) brakelight,
you need this module to make the lights work correctly.
there would be a similar one factory installed, but it works only with the older incandescent type bulbs.
the LED lights draw much less power and the older module is confused
so if both blinker flash together along with the center brake light, get this modul.
it will fix that problem
The module worked as advertised. Simple quick and rewarding.
Worked as it should. Delivery right on time
Simple, easy to install, did what it was supposed to.
