Today we're going to be taking a look at the Performance Tools 7-Piece Bearing Race and Seal Driver Kit. Part number is PTW83020. Now here you'll see what our kit's going to look like. We're going to have a nice handle here, aluminum so it's going to be lightweight, easy to handle with the grooves in there. It won't get too slick once our hands are full of grease. It gives us a nice area to drive that seal or that race down into place.
Also works good for bearings that already have the race on the outside. The way it's going to work is pretty simple. Just going to pick the size that matches. Now if we're driving in a race, we want our beveled portion to be down, so that fits into that race. Then we simply just take our bolt, thread that on the end to hold it in place. Now if, on the other hand, maybe we're doing a seal, or we're doing a contained bearing, we want to use this flat side.
It's going to give us a nice, even surface, it's going to protect our seal from any kind of damage or our bearing from any kind of damage, or our bearing from any kind of damage. Put that right on, and we can drive that in as well. Now we've got six very common sizes and each of our adapters here are going to be two piece. We've got the flat side, and we've also got the narrower side for our race. Now starting at the smallest, this is going to be a 1.565 inch diameter piece. We've got a 1.75 inch diameter, a 1.965 diameter, a 2.325 diameter, a 2.47 diameter and a 2.555 inch diameter, so this is going to cover most of our common sizes, and it's going to give us a great solution for getting rid of that old wooden block, or the things like that we use to use and mess up seals or races here and there.

It would be a 5 star rating if the packaging was usable to store the product. It has to be cut open to access the tools, and that means storage needs to be in some other container. Too bad.
This seal and race tool was excellent for bearing race and seal install. Etrailer is a excellent company. Will buy from them again. Highly recommended.
It’s a straightforward tool, but necessary for a trailer owner, if you like doing your own work. Way easier to use than a couple of big sockets or a punch!
Love this product!! I was packing my bearings for the first time and wanted to have the right tools. This tool was perfect for re-installing the grease seals. I installed 4 of them with this tool and each one was perfect. I think this tool will also work perfect when I change the races (however I did not do that at this time). You guys are great!!
I am so glad I purchased this installation tool. I don't change bearings often but I knew replacing the races would be challenging and this tool made it so easy. I highly recommend it. Works well for replacing the seal too.
Nice kit, not complete for my vehicle bearing needs. My 5th wheel uses a 3" bearing kit. On the inber bearing. This does not have a 3" race driver. Otherwise a great kit.
It would be nice if you provided all the sizes. I needed some of the bigger ones for the trailer bearing seal and bearing (8,000 pound axles). I had to buy the rest as individual ones on[line]. I called about more pieces but you said you did not have any

these will work very well on my dexter axle bearings and inner seals,exactly what size i needed to drive on races and seals for this make of axle THANKS.Also will work on other makes good number of adapters for install!
Brake drums were exactly what I ordered. etrailer was amazing, I ordered on a Sunday afternoon around 5:00 PM and within about 30 minutes I received a call form them with a couple of questions about my order and by around 8:00 PM I had received an email that my order was shipped. All my parts showed up by Wednesday in perfect condition. I installed them all on Friday afternoon, everything was a perfect fit. Now my 20 year old trailer is like new and ready for the trip Im about to take it on across country.
Fred G - 02/11/2019Seems to be good quality, but there was not an adapter big enough for the seal on the 7000 lb disc brake kit. I resorted to the old block of wood and hammer.
This was super, made very short of seating races without any risk or damage or crooked seating!! Highly recommend!!
Setting Races evenly back onto the hubs, goes quick without damaging, either the race or hub.

I don't know if the product is good or not. I purchased the product to facilitate installation of wheel bearings on an RV. The largest sized piece was way too small for what I needed, so I'm unable to use.
Mike L - 02/07/2019Exactly what I would expect from etrailer.com. Well-made, fairly priced, and works as advertised. I was initially put-off by the fact all the bearing drivers I could find were made of aluminum. Finally it occurred to me that this was to protect the hubs, races, etc. These are a big step up from banging on sockets with a hammer!
Made of aluminum. I had to machine one so it would fit the smaller race. I had to make a larger one from scratch for the larger race.

Mark - 11/24/2020excellent tool to have if you want to make the job of pressing in races and seals easy and complete. When the race seats on the shoulder the sound of this tool when it's hit with the hammer changes and that gives me confidence that I've done the job right. As cheap as it is I highly recommend this to anyone even if they do one installation. I did four and was very happy that I spent the money to get this tool
