Perfect replacement anytime you pull the brake drums to repack the bearings, cheap insurance to insure no grease leaks into the brake assembly. Installed on dexter 3500# axle.

I ordered a specific grease seal. You all sent something totally wrong. Upon calling I was told I can return it but lm responsible for shipping. The cost given to me was 1/2 of the cost of the order. Adam asked for the part number I wanted and once again it switched to the part that would not work. One seal is about 2 inches in diameter the other close to 3. I learned a lesson today. BEWARE

Product is good but one was damaged by the heavy rotors shipped in the same box. We still used the seal after reshaping it.

No one in town had these and I had no good reference numbers off of the old seal - etrailer's customer service reps helped me match up a new seal based on my axle make and bearing size and these are a perfect fit.

Comments
Thanks for taking the time to follow up with me. Ive only put a few hundred miles of use on the trailer but everything is working great. Ive actually recommended etrailer to my father, a friend of mine and anyone at work who would listen made easier by the fact that I had everything I ordered shipped to my job instead of home. Barring an emergency situation that requires an immediate solution you have my business in the future.

They work! Not the most complicated item but the fact there are several sizes and I had to go off of a part number on my axle, it was great to see they were the same size. Ordering was simple and the seals arrived in no time.

- RG06-050
by:

Installation was easy. The etrailor videos are excellent and told me everything I needed to know to do this job correctly.

- RG06-050

Installed these seals less than a year ago. I just finished repacking the bearings again, and when I pulled the drum off I was very surprised at the dirt these seals let get into the inner bearings.

- RG06-050
by:

I purchased these as spares as I know I cannot take the existing seals off without damaging them. Identical to the seals in the bearing kit. These will work just fine.

- RG06-050

no matter the part for my travel trailer or utility trailer, etrailer always has what i need at the best price

- RG06-050

Like others say great seal, good selection, fast delivery. I was a bit surprised at the E-Trailer packaging. I ordered 12 seals for 3 different SIZE trailers and all 12 were in ONE BAG. So some seals are VERY CLOSE in size to each other, like 2.33 x1.50 vs a 1.68. Needless to say you have to be a McGiver to be doing your own seals anyway, but I had to "Mike" each one and look for numbers on each & seperate for boat or Dune Buggy Trailers. Thats another thing, Taiwan & China ? And the numbers on these new seals are different than the standard Dexter Transcom National or NOK. Good thing my old seals had those numbers, these dont. Keep good NOTES ! Good Luck next owner if I sell.

My previous ones were hard plastic with rubber seals. I was surprised to see these are made out of metal. I can't tell what type but I hope they don't corrode and become difficult if not impossible to remove next time.

- RG06-050
by:

Ordering was quick and easy, so was installation. Fit as advertised and was reasonably priced. Would order from etrailer.com again. Completely satisfied.

- RG06-050

The grease seals were just what I needed. Perfect fit

Great information on your website to help with determining the right part for your trailer. The parts shipped quickly and had them installed on my trailer in no time. The parts are an exact match for my 2017 Grand Design trailer. They work perfectly and I will be using etrailer when I need to replace or upgrade my brakes in the future.

I have had problems in the past ordering the correct grease seals for an older Spartan boat trailer. The technical staff answered my questions, added advice that was detailed enough to allow me to solve my issues with ordering the correct seal, and provided a direct link to the correct seal allowing me to effortlessly finish my order. Very easy, extremely helpful, and a great price. Etrailer is now my go to supplier. Thanks.

Arrived two days early. Now I have half the job done two days early. Yay etrailer and USPS. Oh and even paying shipping it was xx bucks cheaper than [farm store]

They're seals alright. I bought them to keep as spares with other spare wheel bearing parts. I can't attest to their durability, but they appear to be a well made part that would work just fine.

Still on my shelf as spares.

The bearing caps were high quality and the fit was perfect. So much better than trying to clean and/or repair the old ones. Great value for the price and piece of mind knowing you have one less thing to mess with.

Good to have in reserve with a seal puller, grease, etc. You can’t count on every parts place having your size.

  • Grease Seal for 1993 Wells Cargo With 3500 lb Axle and L68149 Inner Bearing
The # RG06-050 seal you referenced is compatible with the L68149 inner bearing, but you should confirm it to be sure. To be absolutely sure, you can get the number off of your existing seals, if they are not torn up. If you look at the photo I have edited for you, you can see where the reference number is located. You might need a magnifier to see the numbers. If the number is not readable, you can use an accurate measuring device like a digital caliper to measure the diameter of the spindle...

  • Will 10-19 Grease Seals Fit a 171255UC Seal on a 2012 Backtrack Boat Trailer
You will need to measure your existing seals to determine if # RG06-050. The measurements have to be as accurate as possible so you will need to use dial calipers to get the most accurate measurement. The inner diameter of seal RG06-050 is 1.719 inches and the outer diameter is 2.565 inches. From what I could find on seal 171255UC, it has the same measurements listed above.

  • How to Measure to Determine Correct Replacement Trailer Grease Seal
The bearing number 1980 doesn't cross reference with anything we have here, but I can still help you find the correct replacement seal. You will need to take an accurate measurement of the outside diameter of your existing seal, or the inside diameter of the mounting surface for the seal in the hub. You will also need an accurate measurement of the spindle at the seal surface. I have posted a photo to show the dimensions you will need to measure. A dial caliper will provide an accurate...

  • Should Trailer Hub Seals Leak After Filling them with Accu-Lube System
It sounds like you may be pumping too much grease into your hubs and that is causing the seal to fail and leak grease out of the hub. You may have blown the seal already, but if not I would recommend trying a smaller amount of grease in the hub and see if that stops the leak. For a new seal you would want the # RG06-050 that you referenced. We see this problem a lot with the Bearing Buddies. People end up putting too much grease in their hubs and it blows out the seal.

  • Are TruRyde Grease Seals # RG06-050 Wire Reinforced
The TruRyde # RG06-050 double lip grease seal is indeed wire spring reinforced, as you can see in the photo I've provided. The wire spring actually looks similar to a guitar string. Although double lip seals will work for any application, we recommend them for use with EZ lube spindles or with bearing protectors, as it's easy to overfill them. A double lip seal grips the spindle better, helping to keep the grease in the hub where it belongs.

If the number you found on the grease seal you pulled out of the hub was 473336 then that means the correct replacement seal is the part # RG06-050. This is commonly seen on the 3,500 lb axles but what also factors into this is that the 3,500 lb axle is one of the most popular axle capacities and 4,400 is not. Normally the next size up that you see from 3,500 is 5,200 which is why your hub components aren't listed in an easy of a way to find.

The difference between the single lip and double lip seals is that the double lip grease seal will have two rubber lips that are in contact with the spindle.
