Almost Great. Was amazed I could find a replacement part for my 15 year old bike rack which had gone out of business. But etrailer had it. I would give them 5 stars for having the correct item number, having it in stock and for their quick shipping. But unfortunately for me, my bike rack was so old that the company had modified the part. The new has an inside hole opening of 1 inch; my old had an opening of 1-1/8 inch and initially the part would not work. I eventually was able to enlarge the hole and was able to use the parts and bring my great, but old bike rack back to life. See photos of original vs new.
I do not blame etrailer for this as changes had been made and was very happy they at least had a part I could use.

Adding this simple (and inexpensive) change to my Rhode Gear bike carrier was a great way to continue using it without buying an entirely new one. Over the years the foam protectors on the extension bars wore off and I was using pool noodles to protect the bikes. In just a matter of minutes I had the new cradles on and have used them numerous times already. Works good and is a simpler, quicker way to attach the bikes.

The original cradles on my Hollywood rack were rather loose. Their redesign fixed that. Just be prepared to

I bought my Rhode Gear Super Shuttle bike trunk rack in 1996 and a retaining tab on one of the control blocks finally broke off. This let my bike "sail" in the air and fly all around. This replacement cradle gave my rack some new life, and works better and easier than the original. I've attached some pictures of the old and new.

Your replacement cradle worked out very well. I found that reading the reviews was very helpful when ordering. Please take time to measure. This is vital as several sizes with the same appearance are available.

Took longer to remove the old Rhode Gear cradles than to replace with these. Perfect fit on a 26 year old bike rack.

These cradles completely re-vamped my old Rhodes Gear shuttle rack, and were a great upgrade to the original straps. The cradles were easy to install, and provide a solid, snug fit around the frame. With two bikes, there was no lateral rocking on the rack. Also, the service from George at etrailer was great, with really fast shipping! I would definitely recommend this product and eTrailer to others.

Have an old Rhode Gear hitch-mounted bike carrier with worn out bike cradles. The rubber was just too old and brittle. I thought I would have to buy a new rack but other than the cradles, its fine. Too many things in landfills anyhow-not to mention saving some serious change. Loved the website-very informative, easy to navigate. The parts arrived quickly, and were very reasonably priced. Will definitely return in future.

Tricky to get on my old beat up bike rack with 1inch diameter bars, but with a little elbow grease and windex for lubricant it went on and works great. Holds the bike stable and is much easier to use than bungy straps for sure.

I have an older Rhode Gear hitch mount bike rack that used a rigid plastic retaining system, these were worn out with the retaining tab gone.
I found these replacement retainers that are a far better design and replaced my original retainers with no issues.
Great product, rack is now usable again.

These fixtures are awesome. They replace some worn out plastic straps that had split apart. These new ones are very adaptable to whatever type or size of bike that I am carrying. The Velcro straps hold the bike frame in a secure position. Worth every dollar paid. Highly recommend.

Works as it should. My little Rhode Gear bike rack is an economical alternative to a big, expensive rack, and it has been worthy of owning. These rubber parts hold the bike on the rack. They were lost during a move, so I ordered one set (of two) although two sets will fit on the rack. If only one bike is loaded, it tends to turn diagonally to the back of the car, but no harm is done.
