Approved for use on cars, trucks, vans, SUVs, and motorhomes - not approved for fifth wheels or towable campers

The RockyMounts SplitRail LS platform-style bike rack lets you carry 4 bikes using your vehicle's 2" hitch. It is designed to carry bicycles of varying sizes and styles. The bike trays adjust to optimize bike spacing and reduce bike-to-bike contact. The ratcheting arms and wheel straps secure your bikes by the wheels so there's no frame contact. The front-mounted release lever allows the rack to easily tilt down with bikes loaded for easy access to your vehicle's rear cargo area and fold up when not in use. You can also easily remove the front positions on the rack to carry 2 or 3 bikes if the size of your riding group changes. Finally, the rack includes integrated cable locks to secure your bikes to the rack and a locking hitch pin for securing the rack to your vehicle.

Wheel-Mount Design for Easy Bike Loading

RockyMounts SplitRail LS Adjustable Wheel Arm

The Rack allows you to quickly and easily load and carry 4 bicycles on the back of your vehicle. The ratcheting arms securely hold your bikes by the front wheels so there's no frame contact. Simply push the button on the hook and slide it firmly into place over your front wheel.

Sliding Rear-Wheel Straps

RockyMounts SplitRail LS 2 Bike Rack Adjustable Rear Wheel Straps

The sliding rear-wheel straps allow the rack to accommodate bikes with wheelbases up to 48" long. The ratcheting, rubber straps hold your bikes' rear wheels securely in place on the tray and fit tires up to 3" wide.

Adjustable Bike Tray

RockyMounts SplitRail Rack Adjustable Bike Tray

The front and back trays adjust 4" side-to-side to ensure you have enough space when loading your bikes. Just remove the 4 bolts where the tray attaches to the top of the rack, slide the trays left or right to achieve the desired spacing, and then re-install the bolts. This will prevent your bikes' handlebars from becoming tangled, and it eliminates the fear of bike-to-bike contact during transportation.

Front-Mounted Release Lever for Easy Tilting

The front-mounted release lever allows one person to easily tilt the RockyMounts SplitRail. The rack tilts down with or without bikes loaded for convenient access to your vehicle's rear cargo area.

The lever also lets you fold the rack up for storage when you're not transporting a bike. This is great for parking in places where space is limited such as a parking garage

Easy Installation with Anti-Rattle Device

RockyMounts SplitRail LS Anti Wobble Hitch Lock Diagram

The RockyMounts SplitRail installs quickly and easily into your 2" hitch receiver. Insert the shank into your vehicle's hitch receiver, then install the hitch pin and tighten it down. As the pin tightens, it engages the 3-axis anti-wobble bolt inside the shank. This system will reduce noise and movement while the rack is installed.

Security Features

RockyMounts SplitRail LS 2 Bike Rack Built-in Cable Locks

The rack comes with integrated cable locks to secure your bikes against theft. The cables extended from the ends of the wheel hooks and wrap around your bikes' frames to lock them to the rack

RockyMounts SplitRail LS Hitch Lock and Hitch Pin

The hitch pin also comes with a hitch lock to help prevent the rack from being removed from your vehicle.

Convenient Wall Mount Storage Hook

RockyMounts SplitRail LS Bike Rack Wall Mount Storage Hook Supporting Rack

An included mounting hook bolts to a secure attachment point so you can hang the rack when not in use. Simply remove the rack from your vehicle, reinstall the hitch pin and then set the shank in the middle of the bracket, inserting the hitch pin into the bracket's cradles.

RockyMounts SplitRail LS Hanging Mount

When mounting the storage hook use a pair of 5/16" x 3" lag bolts (sold separately). Select a sturdy location, such as a wall stud, and make sure the location is at least 36" off the ground so the rack can hang unobstructed.

The rack is sturdy and works well, way better than my old hanging racks. It was the best for the $$ when I bought it in Nov 2019. Some negatives: Biggest detractor is that you have to unweight the rack while you are pulling the handle to get it to raise back up. Just annoying enough that I don't always raise my rack, and it got hit today, the base bent and it's out of stock. The screws loosen often and I have to retighten them. It's sometimes not easy to get all handlebars and saddles just right so all the bikes sit properly in their trays. I wish I would have spent the extra $$ and bought the OneUp. Sometimes it's hard to depress the locking button on the arm so you can push it down to secure the wheel. You can't go from four trays to three, just four to two. Another reason I should have purchased the OneUp. Clearance isn't the best, but that's surely vehicle dependent. I scraped the bottom once going over a dip in the road, despite driving an SUV (Highlander).

Can’t say enough about this awesome bike rack. Ours has been used regularly as a 4 bike rack and 2 bike rack for over a year now. We’ve traveled 100s of miles all over CO, UT, and WY with no issues. Rock solid and well built. No sign of product fatigue and no material failures of any kind. 100% satisfied!

Very sturdy. Supports the bikes well, love it.

Immediately after purchasing went on a 14 hour road trip with all four bikes - eight hours of which was through a driving rain and substantial winds - the bikes did not move once. Installation takes a bit of time and the instructions could be a little clearer but very impressed with the product (which came on time) so far.

  • RockyMounts SplitRail Compared to Kuat NV 2.0 4-Bike Racks
One of the biggest differences between the Kuat NV 2.0 4-Bike Platform Rack # NV22G-NA22G and the RockyMounts SplitRail part # RKY11404-4 is going to be the price. The SplitRail is less expensive. It weighs a few lbs less than the NV as well at 76 lbs compared to 86 lbs. So for those reasons I would probably go with the RockyMounts instead. Unless you really want the bike repair stand that's built into the Kuat. The other thing the Kuat wins is stability on the road. If you check out the...

I really like the RockyMounts Split Rail # RKY11404-4 because it allows you to go from a 2 bike to either a 3 bike or 4 bike rack depending on the need. The Kuat NV 2.0 # BA22B-BA02B is regarded by many as the nicest bike around but it's either 2 or 4. Split rail comes with a wall rack which is super convenient too. On the RockyMounts SplitRail bike rack # RKY11404-4 when folded up it measures 6-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the rack. If you measure the distance between the center of the hitch pin hole to the rear edge of the spare on your 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and find that it is less than 6-1/2 inches the rack will fit when folded up. If you have a longer measurement let me know and I can make other recommendations.

  • Will RockyMounts Split Rail Bike Rack Fit 2008 Honda Odyssey and Fold Up
