Beefy. I have no doubts of the capacity of either side of this hitch adapter, there's plenty of weld to hold it all together. Very few options will provide minimal drop (for an off-road trailer) and minimal rise on the other side for an additional bike rack or cargo carrier. Jeeps are tough since you need to be able to open the gate. This one clears no problem. My spare is up on a slant back carrier, but I think the stock spare should clear as well. Get you a "Trimax THC200 Universal Anti-Rattle Clamp Fits 2" Hitch" and this thing is solid as stone.

by:

The hitch has held up over Alaskan roads towing a jeep, but it does not sit level in the receiver so the tiny little bit that it sags is exaggerated when the tow bar is connected. Paint starting to peel with wear after a year.

by:

The hitch adapter is well built and has worked flawlessly. I actually use it with my Honda Pioneer 1000-5 during duck season and it allows me to use my folding cargo carrier on top and keep a ball receiver on the bottom for pulling trailers.

by:

What’s Rocky the product work exactly how I was hoping it would. It held up by and gave me the drop by needed to tow my vehicle behind my RV so I’ve been very happy with it.

by:

I received the hitch quickly and it was exactly as show and described on the website.

by:

Looks to be very strong and well built exept that the holes on the middle tube, which slide into your receiver, are not perfectly lined up. I had to wallow one side out a smidge to get the keeper through.Other than that, no problems.

by:

High quality piece. Welding very good. Quick shipping. I won't worry about equipment failure flat towing our F150 Ford pickup.

by:

E-Trailer always delivers.

by:

This adapter does the job it is supposed to but,,,,,when using this on the motorhome, it would be better if it was a couple inches longer to get the attachment a little farther from the coach. Perhaps offering it in various lengths might be an idea. The fit is also a little bit sloppy and as a result the rack that goes into it bounces a bit and we therefore tie the bikes to the coach to stop the bounce

by:

Always great.

by:

As always, I can count on etrailer's exceptional customer service and fast delivery.

by:

Gives enough clearance for attaching the bike rack and working with the Blue Ox. Perfect solution for using more than one receiver at a time.

by:

Very fast shipping and great product

by:

Adam was the person that helped with our orders. Definitely top notch service, order arrived as expected, and I will be working with e-trailer again. Good person to deal with.

by:

Perfect for my needs. I use the top hitch for a bike rack and the bottom for pulling my toad. I did need to get longer cables for my particular tow bar. You may not need to with yours. For now, I leave the receiver on the RV with the bike rack attached so I am ready to go should I need to pull my toad. I have so far driven over 3000 miles with out a problem.

by:

Needed this to carry our bikes and tow our car on the back of our motor home.

by:

The product was well built, the receiver end was solid so the Anti-Rattle lock would not have worked as it requires hollow receiver. This is a 10,000 pound rated product. I intended to use to add my existing bike rack and Tow bar together, but the bike rack prevented the Tow bar from being added and so I had to send it back and get a different bike rack that fit on my Tow bar. I did keep one of the locks and added to my Alpha Tow bar for Anti-Rattle and Locking.

by:

Perfect for adding bike rack on top of Nighthawk tow hitch

by:

The hitch adapter is well constructed... and we're testing it out this weekend. I may want to change to an adapter with a 4" drop... The 2" drop lets the bicycle carrier interfere with the Blue Ox tow bar... I'm thinking that using the 4" drop, and turning it upside down so that the bike carrier rides higher would give more space for the Blue Ox tow bar... Not your fault, will I be able to exchange the 2" drop adapter for a 4" drop adapter?

by:

Fast delivery and excellent customer service making sure I ordered exactly what I needed!

by:

Good product…will allow me to carry both bike and toad behind RV

by:

Doesnt fit correctly with my trailer even though the rep said it would. dont bother trying the return it though, 100% satisfaction guarantee if bull. if you try mounting to your rig, it is no longer new. eTrailer sucks.

by:

WOW, need I say more! I ordered this on a Thursday with no expectation as to when it would get there, thinking sometime the following week. I didn't even bother to see when it would get there yet and to my surprise there it was on Saturday. The icing on the cake, I didn't pay anything for delivery. Thank you etrailer!

by:

My hitch extension bent and I was in desperate need for a replacement. etrailer and Adam made the process a breeze. We found the correct part, it was shipped out that day and arrived right on schedule. The customer Service and follow up have been outstanding!

  • Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter For Flat Towing That Offers 10" Of Rise/Drop
I went ahead and took a look, and it appears the closest I was able to find is the: -Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter, 2" or 10" Drop/Rise # RM-077-10. This dual hitch receiver adapter can give either 2"-10" of rise or drop depending on the application, has a gross towing weight capacity of 10,000-lbs, and has a maximum tongue weight capacity of 400-lbs. Unfortunately, there is not a dual hitch adapter that has both a 6" rise/drop and a 10" rise/drop. I have also attached a diagram...

  • Can Dual Hitch Extension be Used to Carry Bikes Behind RV While Flat Towing a 2005 Dodge Dakota
The 2 dual hitch adapters that you want to look into are the Roadmaster options because they were designed for the exact reason for what you are wanting to do. Part # RM-077-4 has a 4" Rise/Drop while part # RM-077-2 has a 2-1/4" Rise/Drop. You will want to be sure that you choose the one that allows you to flat tow your 2005 Dodge Dakota level (see attached article). Both adapters have the same Tongue Weight (TW) capacity of 400 lbs and Gross Towing Weight (GTW) capacity of 10,000 lbs....

  • Availability of Dual Hitch Adapter With No Drop
Having your towbar within 3 inches high or low of level is perfectly acceptable, according to Blue Ox and Roadmaster. If the # RM-077-4 would allow the towbar to be within that amount plus or minus of level, the dual hitch adapter would work just fine. We don't have any dual hitch adapters that have a receiver that would be inline with that of the coach.

  • Dual Hitch Adapter with 4 inches of Drop
Sounds like you have a high low adapter currently that has 4 inches so for a similar dual hitch adapter you'd want the part # RM-077-4 which has the same 4 inch drop and a hitch opening above it for your bike rack.

  • Towing a 2008 Ford Explorer and Carrying a Bike Rack at the Same Time
Roadmaster dual receiver, # RM-077-2, with its 2 inch drop and rise is going to be the best option. A dual receiver that exits straight out of the hitch and has a high enough capacity for the 5,000 pound 2008 Ford Explorer is not available. Most tow bars have a slight range that they will work within (normally 3 inches up or down from level). Consult the manual for your tow bar to determine its range.

  • What is Tongue Weight Capacity of Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-2
The 400 lb tongue weight capacity of the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-2 that you referenced is the overall tongue weight capacity of all accessories installed in either hitch opening. So 400 lbs is limit whether you use one or both hitch openings. I don't understand what you mean by you are not sure if you'd need two different hitches so you might email me back and clarify what you mean by that.

  • Does Roadmaster Dual Hitch Adapter RM-077-2 Have Ability to Carry E-Bike Rack
The Roadmaster dual hitch adapter part # RM-077-2 that you referenced was designed for your current situation. It allows you to carry a bike rack in the upper hitch opening and tow a vehicle with the lower hitch opening. This has the weight capacity for your rack and bikes too as it has a 400 lb tongue weight capacity.

  • Is Tongue Weight Capacity for Individual Receivers on Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter for Tow
The tongue weight rating for the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter for Tow Bars # RM-077-2 is for both receivers. If you were to only use one then you can load it up to 400 lbs but if you are using both then it's a combination. The weight rating has more to do with the shank than the actual receivers so the shank itself can only handle 400 lbs. Attached is a review video for you to check out.

  • Can Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter, Part # RM-077-2, be Used with a Towing Dolly
The Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter, Part # RM-077-2, has a rated tongue weight capacity of 400 pounds. Its intended purpose is to allow use of an accessory such as a bike carrier or cargo carrier at the same time that a tow bar is being used, however, it can be used while towing a dolly as well. Just not a trailer. Please keep in mind that any type of hitch extender or hitch adapter will reduce the tongue weight capacity of the hitch on which it is installed by 50%.

  • Does Using Roadmaster Dual Receiver Reduce Trailer Hitch Tongue Weight Capacity when Flat Towing
In a flat towing situation the use of an adapter like # RM-077-2 does NOT reduce the tongue weight capacity of the trailer hitch because there is very little tongue weight on it when flat towing a vehicle. So you can use this adapter to flat tow your Jeep and to carry a bike rack. In a regular towing situation like towing a trailer and not a vehicle, the use of an adapter or extender reduces the tongue weight capacity of the hitch by 50 percent. This is because the additional length of...

The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back side of the receiver openings is 6-3/4 inches. From hitch pin hole to hitch pin hole on receiver openings is 10-1/4 inches. If you are simply looking for an extension and not necessarily two receiver openings, we have several extensions available in various sizes. I have included a link to all of our 2 inch extension parts. Please note that using one of these extenders will reduce hitch capacity by 50 percent.
