Specs:
The Roadmaster anti-sway bar does for side-to-side movement what a good pair of shocks does for up-and-down motion. You will notice a marked improvement in your vehicle's stability as the bar works to balance weight transfer and reduce body roll. The anti-sway bar acts as a link between your vehicle's frame and its rear axle, using the axle as a brace to more effectively balance the shifting weight of your vehicle as you maneuver it. Lubricated bushings allow just enough pivot and rotation to compensate for the pressure placed on one side of your vehicle when it goes into sudden maneuvers, hits crosswinds or encounters shifting weights.
Superior Construction
The Roadmaster anti-sway bar is made of 4140 chromoly, a chromium and molybdenum steel alloy. This type of steel is considerably harder and stronger than the standard 1020 steel that is typically used in anti-sway applications. In addition, the larger diameter of the bar increases its torsional roll stiffness. The result is a bar that is not only stronger than the competition, but also nearly 30 percent better at resisting sway. The polyurethane bushings and grommets used at the attachment points are durable yet flexible, ensuring that the system is neither so rigid nor so malleable that it becomes ineffective.

Hey there, heavy haulers. Today, we're going to take a look at the Roadmaster Rear Anti-sway Bar for Trucks. You can use our fit guide to find the right sway bar for your truck. This is what our sway bar looks like when it's installed. You can tell that it's significantly larger than our factory sway bar. This is what our old sway bar used to look like right here.
There's just really no comparison on how much thicker and stronger this sway bar is. This one here, I can't bend whatsoever. This guy, it was providing some support and I know I'm pushing it together, which really isn't how sway bars work. They work in a twisting motion, but this one is significantly smaller and is going to provide not nearly as much anti-sway as our stronger, larger bar here. The main purpose of upgrading to a larger sway bar like this is to help minimize sway. As you're going down the road and you make turns or evasive maneuvers, the body wants to roll.
As that rolls, it kind of throws you around in the cabin and makes it more difficult to maintain control of the vehicle. Also, when it sways, it shifts weight in a direction which could cause the vehicle to start to pull or slide in that direction. By minimizing the sway, it just helps stabilize the vehicle and provide you with more control and stability. Having a larger bar here is going to do just that for you. Also in this kit, you're going to receive new bushings, shackles, and hardware. So if you've got an old sway bar that's just got worn out bushings and you're looking to just repair it and you're wanting to upgrade it to have less sway, to be able to haul heavier items without feeling it throwing your truck around when you're going around those turns, this kit comes with all those components too.Let's go ahead and get a baseline measurement and we're going to hit the test course with our factory sway bar on there.
First, we're going to be in the bump section, which is going to simulate a pothole. The rear end does make quite a bit of noise and it doesn't feel that tight. There's a lot of back and forth rocking going on. Lastly, we're going to be going into our slalom section and this is going to simulate an evasive maneuver. On our slalom course, you can really feel how loose the truck is as we weave back and forth.
It's honestly a little scary to drive this, performing these big evasive maneuvers, so I can only imagine what it would be like if our truck bed was fully loaded. Now that we've got the new sway bar installed, I'm going to go ahead and take it out on the test course and we're going to see how it compared with our factory results. First, we're going to be in the bump section, and as we go over these bumps, we can definitely tell there is less rocking back and forth. It does seem to stiffen the vehicle up a little bit, so if you're concerned about having a smoother ride, this isn't really going to make it smoother, but this is really designed for those guys hauling heavy equipment so it's going to be more beneficial for them. Next we're going to be heading into our slalom section, and this is going to simulate an evasive maneuver. During this section, this is where I expect to see the biggest improvements as our sway bar is considerably larger than our old ones. So when we head up here, we're going to go ahead and start ripping her back and forth. Oh yeah, it definitely . wow, it really grips pretty good. It's actually pretty fun to drive. Considerable improvements over your factory components. In the end, upgrading your truck's rear anti-sway bar lets you execute turns and quick maneuvers with confidence, while reducing driver fatigue and minimizing the effort required to keep your vehicle in line due to crosswinds, passing motorists, and large shifting cargo. The 4140 chromiley 00:03:32 steel is going to be considerably harder and stronger than your factory installed sway bar. If you're concerned about up and down motion or your vehicle sagging down in the back, I suggest upgraded jounce bumpers or a set of airbags. That completes our look at the Roadmaster Rear Anti-sway Bar for Trucks.

--Etralier & Roadmaster Anti-Sway-Bar Review--
I do not do product reviews--but am doing so here simply to express the AWESOME Customer Service, Articles, & Products at etrailer.com!
I have an old 1988 7.3 IDI (N/A Diesel) E350 transporter van (extended length with hightop) that I have spent a decade working on and just opted for front and rear Roadmaster anti-sway-bars.
I am so grateful I ordered them from etrailer! etrailer made the purchase process INCREDIBLE & the anti-sway-bars installed easily in an evening.
CUSTOMER SERVICE:
Via a private browser I inadvertently placed my order & received an error.
Hitting the "Live Chat" & within moments August from etrailer.com had answered saying my order was not in the system & it was safe to redo the order (which I did in a regular browser).
Just hours after placing the order (7 PM Pacific Time) I realized there was a third Roadmaster option (1 5/8" thick rear anti-sway-bar) I did not notice (see below for details of Roadmaster fit for the 1975-1991 Ford van, as I have worked out).
I again hit "Live Chat", at 7 PM!, & Matthew from etrailer within moments talked with a tech and confirmed I had (thankfully) ordered the correct part.
The next morning I awoke to an email from George at etrailer.com saying my order had been shipped and would arrive on Tuesday (~5 days across the U.S.).
The tracking link showed a map tracking the order as well who processed the order at etrailer.com (George), who gathered the order at etrailer.com (Cody), and who packaged (shipped) the order at etrailer.com (Michael)--with pics of the person.
The order arrived well packaged--from the factory I think--with only 2 cosmetic punctures (see pics if concerned--but for heavy (~36 lbs each) & awkward items across the U.S.--no complaints here).
Upon arrival, I received (what I assume is automated--but still) an email from Carol to follow up on the order.
Incredible!

Since then I have scanned some of etrailer.com's articles & they seem honest & insight-fully written (like the article discussing the cost/benefit, return on investment, of solar power*).
PRODUCTS:
There are also rather specialty products on etrailer I have wondered about but for lack of time have never researched (nor stumbled upon elsewhere). For example Kat's Heater Ether Start Fluid Injection System.**
Plus, from what I have gathered, they have product experts on-hand, with their names & pictures.

ROADMASTER ANTI-SWAY-BAR FIT
(for the 1975 - 1991 Ford Econoline van):
For fit, what I've worked out using the Roadmaster Fitmaster website*** is there are 5 variants for the 1975-1991 REAR anti-sway-bar & one item for the front (but do double check me!):
Part #1139-108 with a 1 3/8" anti-sway-bar: not for diesel
Part #1139-117 with a 1 1/2" anti-sway-bar: recommended for diesel E350 (what I contacted customer support over)
Part #1139-119 / RM83ZR with a 1 5/8" anti-sway-bar
Part #1139-108 with 1 3/8" anti-sway-bar: FOR auto-chain vehicles.
Part #1139-198 with a 1 1/2" anti-sway-bar: FOR auto-chain vehicle.
Part #1139-100 is 1 3/8" & is the only anti-sway-bar for the FRONT (I understand).
Unfortunately I have yet to test drive as I must tie several things down first & wanted to get this review out ASAP. But all reviews I have read say these anti-sway-bars are night and day difference.
SUMMARY:
In sum, there in no other company in the U.S, I have ordered from in over a decade that has done such a STELLAR job as etrader.com.
(And fixing/modernizing a 30 year old diesel van has required me ordering MASSIVE parts).
If etrailer is not one of the best companies in America, I do not know who is.
Order from etrailer with complete confidence.
THANK YOU so much etrailer!
Keep up the INCOMPREHENSIBLE job!
May you all be blessed,

Review from a similar Sway Bar with Bushing Kit in Anti-Sway Bars
The Roadmaster Anti-Sway Bar is of excellent quality. All of the parts are heavy duty and fit exactly the way they should. I have a 2003 Fleetwood on a Workhorse W22 chassis and considering the age all of the factory bolts and nuts came off without any issues. Installation was easy following the printed instructions and the online video. I really recommend this product.

Very nice High Quality Anti-Sway Bar!
I picked up the end links and fabricated the frame mounts for the end links.
Turned out great and made a very significant improvement in the ride and stability.

Very straightforward installation and all the parts were of high quality. This is a substantial, solid sway bar. My RV feels a lot more solid on the road in curves etc. Very satisfied with the product.
Review from a similar Sway Bar with Bushing Kit in Anti-Sway Bars
I purchased the rear anti sway bar and end link kit because my 2017 Ford F350 single SRW did not come with a rear sway bar from the factory. The sway bar came with instructions and fits the truck well. The end link kit did not come with instructions, so I had to find an existing hole in each side of the frame to mount them to. Although there is a larger hole in the frame above the hole that I was mounting the end links through, there is not enough room to put a wrench on the nut inside the frame. So I welded the nut to a 1"x2"x3/16" steel plate. Then I was able to slip the nut/plate assembly into the frame and tighten the bolt. Additionally, there are no bolt torque specs, so I torqued the 1/2" bolts to 80 ft-lbs, and the 3/8" bolts to 60 ft-lbs. I have to hope that is sufficient. Of course, I shouldn't have to hope. That information should be included in instructions, and the nut/steel plate assemblies (or some other option) should be included in the end link kit. Although the finished product appears to be good quality, I gave it 3 stars due to the incomplete end link kit.

I installed the front and rear Anti-sway bars with the steering shock.
I am 100% satisfied with the outcome and handling of my RV while driving down the road.
I would highly recommend the installation of these items on any RV

The sway bar assemble was very easy to assemble. The directions were clear and all the parts were included. I would rate this as a critically needed addition if you plan to carry a camper in the bed of your pickup.

OH My! If you are thinking about getting one for your P32 wide body. Please don’t hesitate. It REALLY Works. Take the white knuckle effect out of driving. EASY installation! Easy Ordering from etrailer. Roger helped me get through the buying process and shipped to my house in 2 days! Thank You!!

Was an fairly easy install with two people , has held up well so far . Helped stop sway with my top heavy truck camper load. At the time it was the only sway bar that fit the ram 3500 with 6.4 gas hemi due to exhaust system interference with other brands .

We can’t wait to get front & rear sway bars installed on our Class A Motorhome!

I have not been able to get it installed, it is too difficult for my me to do in drive way, the front was easier. I have however installed the front anti sway bar and Roadmaster stabilizer. very happy with handling improvement

I recently purchased a 2011 Itasca Cambria 28 with only 10,500 miles. Our first trip made it clear that I needed to stiffen the chassis. Unfortunately Roadmaster Anti-sway bars are backordered, and though you should put those on first, I just installed the Steering Dampener. Easy installation though you need to be careful about seating the bushings. The videos are much better than the printed instructions. Already see a big difference in how much tighter the steering is. Can't wait for the bars to arrive. Disappointed to have to wait 4 weeks.

I added the Roadmaster Auxiliary Anti-Sway Bar to my 2022 Isata 3, built on the 2021 MB Sprinter chassis. Before it was added, there was significant sway on uneven roads, and major rolling in and out of driveways. My wife complained constantly about the sway, which is apparently much more prominent in the passenger seat. I am very pleased with the improvement in the ride and my wife says the passenger experience is significantly improved.
I was amazed that etrailer.com shipped my order within an hour of placing it and it arrived within 2 days! I took the (very heavy) box to a local hitch shop that is an authorized Roadmaster dealer. Even though they had never installed one before, they completed the job in the amount of time that etrailer.com estimated.
I just completed an 800 mile trip and I am very pleased with this addition to my RV!

Relatively easy installation on my 2004 Ram 3500. It would have been easier if I had removed the spare tire. I only noted a few minor issues. The instructions say to mount the U brackets to the rear two holes in the shock mounts. However, on this truck the shocks mount one in front and one in rear. Therefore, the passenger side mounts in the rear two holes, but the driver side mounts in the front two holes. Otherwise all went well.

Last year I installed the Sumo Springs (lighter load rated) front and rear and rear Koni FSD dampeners which helped noticeably on my 2017 Winnebago View 24J by stabilizing the ride.
I finally installed the Roadmaster rear anti sway bar RM 1209-120 immediately after receiving today. Absolutely worth the low cost for the major improvement in ride comfort and stability. These are direct bolt on replacements for the OEM Mercedes part and utilize the stock mounting bracket hardware.
For a total of less than $xxx I have completely transformed the ride of my Class C motorhome.

This is one of the best upgrades I have made to my 2016 F350 dually. The vehicle handles noticeable better while towing as well as without a load. I bought this stabilizer to help with body roll when cornering while towing my 19,000 lb 5th wheel. But I was surprised how well handling improved with an empty truck while driving down winding country roads. My truck now corners better than my wife’s Ford Escape (not exaggerating this). I state this a year after making this upgrade. If and when I buy a new truck, this will be one of the first upgrades I will make.

Review from a similar Sway Bar with Bushing Kit in Anti-Sway Bars
The sway bar is high quality compared to the oem bar. I have a 2020 MBZ 2500 Sprinter 144. Basically, the roadmaster is three time the factory bar in terms of weight. And it shows. I took it on a ride down some winding roads and sharp turns and the back end feels much stiffer which equals control. I travel alot on Socal freeways to get to my destinations and it was very unnerving when driving next or passing freight trucks. I also pass through valleys and the winds can really making driving a bit uneasy. So, I anticipate this mod will add to my comfort level as well as my passengers. Time will tell. Now for some thing negative, well not quite but still some information buyers will need to know about installation. My van came with endlinks that were not compatible with the roadmaster. I knew this and order a set of end links for a 2019 model. Be aware that you will need new end links if you want to fit this bar to your 2020 model. At least that was the case for me. See pics. Overall, I'm satisfied and the cost is definitely worth the peace of mind.

The Roadmaster was easy to put on and works good, At this time I have a large Truck Camper (Lance 1172) on my GMC 3500HD DRW CC right now, but in spring I will be towing our a 43ft Voltage Toy Hauler.
Review from a similar Sway Bar with Bushing Kit in Anti-Sway Bars
Significant difference when making turns and going around curves. These twin I beam suspension have a tendency to follow uneven road surfaces, this pretty much eliminated a lot of that. Installed it myself with the Roadmaster end links and the only complaint I have is I had to enlarge bolt hole for the end link bolt, other than that, well satisfied. I also installed the rear sway bar at same time, highly recommend replacing the front and rear sway bars together.

I purchased this part because of the rocking on my 2011 Tiifen 34TGA built on the Ford F53 frame. After searching I found this on etrailer and I have to say the video and customer support from etrailer is outstanding. The part came quickly. The install is straight forward as the video shows but be prepared for some hard work. Getting the bolts off the frame after years on the road requires a lot of muscle, my 12 gal compressor and Harbor Freight air wrench was not upto the task. You will need a torque wrench that goes upto the 300 ft/lbs required for the plate install. We had to use our legs to get to 300.
After installing I took a long test drive and the difference in handling is amazing. Much less rocking and more stable. I would recommend this anti-sway bar to anyone with this Ford frame.
