  • Works with 2-wire and 3-wire lighting systems
    • 2-Wire systems (aka combined) have the stop and turn signal sent along the same wire
    • 3-Wire systems (aka separated) have the stop and turn signals sent along different wires (typically indicated by amber turn signals)
  • Prevents electrical feedback and the damage it can cause to your vehicle's electrical components
  • Kit includes:
    • (4) Hy-Power diodes
    • Molded 4-wire electrical cords - 30' long
    • Power cord - 6' long

2001 Jeep Cherokee

This is the third time I have order base plates and electrical hook ups from etrailer and love this company. We have a 1979 MCI Bus conversion and it is difficult at time finding things for towing etc for it because of age. Not with etrailer, they have it all. We have towed a 96 S-19 chevy, a 98 Jeep was next and this year we got a 2001 Jeep Cherokee which we got the electrical kit for from etrailer.com and the base plates are still on the way. Everything fits nicely and if you are unsure of how it all goes together just watch their video''s on the etrailer website which are very informational.
Thank You etrailer.com for being there when we need you. See you all down the road....

Comments
Still working very well and didnt even have to pull the bumper off to install it. very strong units. the electrical hookups worked well also and easy to hookup as well. Lights all work well. The brake cable system I had on my previous Jeep I mover to the cherokee but was a real pain to find a good pass through because of all the mechanicals in the Jeep cherokee but good it through finally.

2019 Chevrolet Blazer

Product is very well built and is hidden within the bumper/grille. Installation wasn't too difficult, reinstallation of front bumper requires 2 people.
Pleased with end results.

by:

Installation instructions were great, no issues or questions. I ran the wire thru the frame, and used split wire loom and tape to protect wiring when outside the tube frame.

Very knowledgeable company excellent service thank you so much for me guiding me into the correct equipment to tow my Jeep Wrangler!

by:
Roadmaster

I have rigged several cars for towing, and Roadmaster has a good wide range of products that allow me to get exactly what I need. And they always work as you expect. I have always gotten them via etrailer because they stock them and make sure they work as specified.

2013 Mini Cooper

Perfect for for using our Mini as a road behind our RV. Price was excellent and you can’t beat etrailer for their great customer service and fast shipping. shipping.

by:

Good system, worked fine but you have to be ok at wiring and understand the process. I found another wiring kit (on Etrailer) that is all pre-wired with a wire harness with connectors. Plug and play. No cutting or wiring connectors. Overall this kit works well!

by:
2021 Ford Ranger

Very professionally expedited and the installation over the website are priceless. EVERYONE THERE continues to shine.

Comments
I made sure that the installation went as smoothly as possible based on my knowledge of electricity electronics. No thing has changed so far. Dependable based on conditions down here with the heat.

Items arrived right on schedule and in good order. I ordered three items in the last few weeks. Their CHAT agents were extremely helpful in answering all my questions about compatibility with my vehicle.

by:
2015 Jeep Wrangler

The order was exactly what I needed for my 2015 Jeep. It was easy to install and took may be a couple of hours from start to finish. The instructional video was spot on!
Again etrailer provided excellent service. A great company.

by:

The directions and the diodes make this work. The pieces could likely be purchased for a lower price somewhere else but having all together is very worth the kit price. Running the wires through the firewall and to the back of the vehicles is the biggest part of the work but I got it done. Love that feeling of accomplishment.

by:

Instructions and pictures are excellent. Easy to install and works as expected.

Comments
All good.

I used the waiting kit on a 2018 Chevy Silverado; my truck has two tail lights and therefore needed an extra set of diodes which were not included with the initial wiring kit. Therefore I has to order an extra diode in order for my turn and brake lights to work properly.

Comments
This kit will work if your vehicle has combined lights - which means the turn and tail lights use the same bulb - or on separate light systems - where the turn and tail lights use separate bulbs. If used on a separate light system and 4 diodes are used then the stop light will work as both the stope and turn signal. Adding two diodes part # RM-792
Roadmaster Hy-Power Diodes (Qty 2)
$27.51
will allow you to use the turn signals on separate light systems.

E Trailer did a great job installing the wiring kit. I can't see where they did anything inside the car and the lights work perfectly.

by:

Every easy installation I had it all done in about 30min.

by:

Worked well. ETrailer’s instructional videos were invaluable. Especially finding space behind the tail light assemblies for diodes!

Jeep Wrangler

I have purchased many items from etrailer and have never been disappointed, with the products being top shelf, delivered on time, and the customer service is top shelf as well. After I get it installed I will send some pictures, to show the quality of the Product . Blue OX backing plate for a Jeep Wrangler. Thanks etrailer for your fast service and free shipping!

by:

Would have given 5 stars, but this was the wrong diode kit for my 2022 King Ranch. The folks at etrailer provided the recommended parts list I needed, however because my truck has LED taillight. After contacting Roadmaster, they helped me determine that I needed a different kit (RO44FR).

by:

Well I was really happy that their sales technician Sherry S. Help package all the required other parts to complete the 4 x4 flat tow job.

by:

Sent this back. Splicing into factory wiring would have voided the warranty on a new vehicle.

by:
2014 Jeep Cherokee

I bought all of my products for flat towing my 2014 Jeep Cherokee for etrailer and I couldn’t be happier. The service was exceptional, the pricing was right, and when I did have a problem, they were right there to take care of it. When I need more goodies for the RV, I will be back!!!!

by:

It works great. I use my CRV to be my tow vehicle for my RV and use it to tow my kayak trailer. This kit made the wiring job easy for both and after 1 year it’s been perfect

Perfect, always works when I need it which is often

One phone call helped complete my whole job great customer service

by:

Only towed 2000 miles so far, then rear ended and pushed into front vehicle. Hope body shop left brackets in place!!!

Install was easy. thank you

by:

Worked great. Not hard to install. Wish the kit came with a fuse disconnect switch.

After a year I would purchase again. Works as stated, and have had no problems.

  • Wiring Guide for Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit # RM-154
Based on my research both your 2002 Bounder motorhome and your 2000 Dodge Durango have combined brake/turn lights. So in this case you will wire the Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit # RM-154 as shown in the linked wiring diagram.

  • How to Wire a 2015 Ford Edge SEL to be Dinghy Towed
Dinghy wiring the 2015 Ford Edge SEL model is quite a bit different than normal diode wiring because Ford combined the stop, turn and taillight signal on the same wire that goes to the rear facing LEDs in the taillight. To make the # RM-154 kit diodes work properly you will need 2 resistors rated for 50 ohms and 10 watts for LED tail lights or 2 rated for 5 ohms and 10 watts for incandescent tail lights, available from a local electronics supply store. You will also need to wire the diodes...

I have included a link to a video on the 4-diode kit # RM-154 being installed on a 2014 Honda CR-V that will help. All you will need is access to the wiring behind the tail lights of the vehicle as if you were going to change a bulb. Its actually probably easier on the CR-V than the Fit! Once you have access to the wiring behind the tail lights you will just test the wires to determine the functions and install the diodes and wiring accordingly.

Is this occurring when the vehicle's being flat towed, or when it's being driven, or both? If it's occurring only when the vehicle's being flat towed, it's possible that operating the towed vehicle's turn signals is too much for the electrical system of the RV.
