Roadmaster Tow Bar Braking Systems - RM-751439

  • Stop Light Switch
  • Roadmaster

Avoid damage to your vehicle by ensuring that your supplemental braking system is properly positioned and working effectively. Kit activates your RV monitoring system to alert you when the brakes of your towed car are being applied.

  • Activates motorhome brake-monitoring system whenever brake pedal in towed car is applied
    • Ensures that the supplemental braking system is functioning properly
  • Works great for any application that does not have a tow position in the ignition
  • Wires directly into towed car's fuse box for constant current
  • Made in the USA

  • 12 Volts
  • Application: custom fit for your vehicle

This kit allows your RV's monitoring system to alert you whenever the brake pedal of your towed car is being applied. Other systems operate according to whether the air cylinder is extended and provide no indication of what is happening with the pedal itself. If your supplemental braking system is improperly installed, it may be continuously pressing on the pedal, impeding it from fully retracting and possibly causing damage to your vehicle's tires and braking system. With Roadmaster's Stop Light Switch Kit, you will always know when the brake is being depressed, and you will avoid costly damage.

Good instructions and easy to instal tnx to Lori AB for putting my order together

Your customer service leaves nothing lacking, and this follow-up from you is so out of character for the many web sites I have purchased from over the years. I am impressed by you and your company.

I bought the tow bar and the brake system for my Equinox, and installed them my self (I am 70 years old) - and with your provided instructions and video, I had no problems (even though I was surprised by the number of parts and detail that went into the assemblies).

Both systems have worked very well, with no problems. I am completely satisfied with them, and have told my friends and traveling acquaintances about your company.

Thanks for your follow-up!

The stop light switch kit is performing as expected. The installation is a little more difficult than what is shown. I ended up installing the switch to the bracket and then installing the bracket to the car. I have not replaced the cover-up panel under the dash installed in the car at the factory as it was damaged when removing it.

I'am in the process of setting up my 2017 Equinox to tow behind our motorhome. I've placed 4-orders with etrailer. So far I've installed the base plate, the wiring from the rear tail lights to the front end.I also received my Tow bar and the quick release parts. my next project is to install the invisi brake system. I want to send Kudos to Cathy T for her help and her great customer service. I'am also thanking James A for his quick response to a question about the wiring harness. I'am extremely happy with the quality of everything I ordered at etrailer. Thanks

Very easy installation with directions provided. On the Chevrolet Equinox this Stop Light Switch eliminates the need to install a relay. It will operate the brake lights in my Even Brake 9400 supplementary braking system. I recommend this Kit to make your supplementary braking system work.

This switch was a perfect fit for my 2017 Equinox. I followed the instructions on the etrailer video and it worked just perfect. It is much better than trying to find the brake switch wire in the vehicle wire bundle like I did for my previous vehicle. Kudos on the great videos available to help with installation.

Works perfectly. A little hard to instal,l because of location under the dash ( lying on your back upside down) but you only have to do it once.

Install it correctly, and it has worked flawlessly for the last year and 6000 miles.

The equipment ordered was received as ordered and had preformed well. Etrailer personnel was very helpful during the informational and ordering processes.

Excellent well engineered product. Requires basic electrical knowledge and skills to install and adjust.
Worked perfectly the first time.

No problems,works great.
Larry M - 08/11/2019

Product arrived as described and when scheduled. Installed via instructions provided. Although instructions could have been clearer from manufacturer, installation only took a few hours. When all said and done Even Brake system now functional in GMC Terrain.

Very good service. William B was very helpful in getting me what I needed to hook up my GMC Terrain to my motorhome. Now, I have to install it all. Hopefully the installation instructions that William sent are as good as the rest of my ecperience with etrailer.

Works great! Installed it on my 2014 Chevrolet Equinox. It fit in just like the instructions said It would. No extra fabrication needed.

I have ordered several different items from etrailer and have very satisfied with ease of
Ordering, price, and services

Item is great! Installation was a breeze with the included install instructions.

Great service from etrailer. quick delivery and good price...what more could you ask for?

  • Is Brake Light Switch Necessary When Wiring 2011 Buick Enclave for Flat Towing
You are correct about the purpose of the brake light switch. Its purpose is to provide verification that the brakes on your dinghy are being applied (as well as released) when needed. If the supplementary braking system you are using is not retracting properly, the tires and brakes on the dinghy could become prematurely worn or damaged.

  • Installing Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751439 on 2010 Chevy Equinox
The Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751439 can fit both the Chevrolet Equinox and the GMC Terrain. It is possible that the photo illustrations in the instructions may show interior detail of more than one vehicle. My contact at Roadmaster confirmed this is often the case. The photos shown are general representative examples rather than exact literal illustrations of your particular year/make/model vehicle. Also, auto makers may sometimes make minor revisions to vehicles, such as...

  • Even Brake Supplemental Braking System Not Functioning on a 2012 Chevy Equinox
First, if you are not using the stop light switch kit # RM-751439 it is required for proper functioning of the Even Brake, # RM-9400, on the 2012 Equinox. It sounds as if the switch, if it is being used, is either not hooked up properly or the wiring between it and the monitor in the motor home is not connected. When it does its test and presses the brake pedal, it is not sensing the brake switch kit. The fuse issue is a common complaint but there is a solution. Just install a fuse bypass,...
