Hey everybody, Clayton here at etrailer.com . Here in etrailer, we install, test, and review a lot of different products to help you as a customer, make a more educated decision before your purchase. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at, and I'll be showing you how to install the replacement swivel collar for our Falcon all-terrain, our Falcon 2, and our BlackHawk 2 all-terrain tow bars. There is no need to replace your entire tow bar if your swivel collars do get messed up. It's a very easy component to replace, and much less expensive than replacing the entire tow bar. Now, these aren't gonna be damaged very commonly but these do happen to drag the ground or they're just rusty and you wanna replace them.
Or maybe this bolt broke, or you just chewed up the threads, something like that. This is definitely something that you're gonna be able to replace at home. Our new swivel is gonna come with all the according hardware, being our bolt, our two nylon washers, and our nylon lock nut. You're only gonna need two tools to replace this. So that's nice.
And that's probably gonna be something that you already have. You just need a quarter inch allen key, and a 9/16th inch socket. Just gonna put these on here like so, and then loosen that up. We can then thread off our nut. And if you still have the nylon washers, I always like to keep a couple of extra those lying around.
So just pull that bolt out carefully, and catch those washers as they come out. Now when you look at the end of your arm, you're gonna see a channel right here. You just wanna make sure that that channel is lined up with the holes in the end of your arm. We're not ready to install our new collar. We wanna grab one of those washers, just kind of hold it there on the inside.
We can use that bolt to kind of support that washer while we're installing it. And we just wanna line that up with the hole in the end of our arm. Slide that bolt through, we can grab our other washer, drop that down and just slide that bolt through. Now we wanna grab that nylon lock nut, and start threading that back on. We can grab those same tools and tighten it down. We just wanna snug it down. We don't wanna over-tighten it 'cause we do have a torque spec. We can now come back and torque it down to the amount specified in our instructions. And if your collar is messed up on the other side, you'll repeat that same process. Now that we have our swivel collars installed, we're ready to hook up to our vehicle and hit the road. That's gonna do it for our look at and our installation of the replacement swivel collars for our Falcon all-terrain, our Falcon 2, and our Black Hawk 2 all-terrain tow bars..

A little different than the OEM in configuration but thry fit and replaced the collars I found down dragging them on the pavement for miles. They came earlier than anticipated and in new condition
I needed to replace one of the ends because the latch that holds the tow-bar up when it is not being used failed. As a result, I dragged the tow-bar, grinding on the road surface many miles before a passing motorist notified me of the problem. By that time a considerable amount of the metal on one end had been ground off. I replaced both ends and the functionality and safety were resorted.
I am very happy with my Falcon 2 tow-bar. We tow a 4000 pound Jeep Grand Cherokee and it has safely held that 4000 vehicle through every panic stop when some idiot has pulled out in front of me.
Worked great
They are welded nicely and painted well. The hardware is included, which was important as these collars replaced the Demco adapters that were on the used Falcon 2 tow bar that my father-in-law purchased (the tow bar will be attached to a new EZ5 base plate).
Ordering was simple. Delivery was quick. Installation was simple. Everything was as expected.
This product is not configured exactly like the one it replaces (original bolt shaft was set on an angle from the connector collar), however, it is the one designated for replacement on my particular tow bar and it will function the same. Having said that, the service was great and the part arrived quickly. My only complaint is that the cost for shipping is excessive. Over $16.00 for standard 5-7 day delivery. Guess it was the weight...
Very nice quality and replaced one missing one from a used tow bar I bought. Since they are sold in pairs I replaced both the old one along with the missing one.
Could not be happier with the product and, especially, the Customer Service. The Tech Service actually listened to my problem and took the time to research a solution. I am very happy with etrailer.
It was a wonderful experience dealing with etrailer. A very nice and patient lady helped me place the order and explained all about the delivery. Two days later I had my items. Thank you so much.
etrailer has the best customer service I have ever dealt with. They not only know what they are doing. But are so easy to work with and get exactly what you need and fast. Pleasure doing business with them.
