I like the pin being surrounded by the jaws instead of just a bar across the back of the pin. The 16K seems to hold the pin tighter and helping to reduce chucking while towing. I had a slider due to when I bought this last 5th wheel, it was kind of forced onto me saying they couldn't let me leave without a slider with a short bed truck. But after I got home, I ordered a Reece Sidewinder, of which I had one on our first 5th wheel back in 2007. This is my third sidewinder and wouldn't pull without one. The Reece 16K hooks up good and towing without the worry of turning to sharp when getting fuel are days gone by, thanks to these 2 combined together. The first Reece 16k I received had something just not right and I was having a heck of a time trying to hitch up. Sent Nicole here at eTrailer a picture of the jaws a little misaligned. Nicole got back with me quickly and we had a short conversation, and just a few days later I received a replacement head. That's service!!

Product is good quality as it appeared --5th wheel itself was not delivered with rest of kit--arrived three days later. Installation easy. Installation kit fits perfect-easy installation. Only variable was I had pre-existing air springs , so I had to mark and drill the frame brackets and install the air springs on the outside of the brackets--no big deal--worked out fine

Nice hitch, relatively easy to assemble & install, took about 1 1/2 hours. Will be trying it out this weekend.

- RP30047
by:

The hitch was installed on Valley Rails which was previously installed on my 2004 Silverado 3500. The hitch fit on the rails and during the first pull performed outstanding. I pull a 41ft 5th wheel and I am impressed with the double jaw lock.

- RP30047

Hitch arrived well packaged. Easy assembly and it fit right in to my existing rails for the Lil Rocker hitch I was replacing. I haven't towed with it yet but look forward to the security of the jaw clamp over the slide bar.

No issues with the hitch after many trips with it.

I spent a whole day installing the Reese 16k hitch and custom quick mounting rails in a 2020 F150. Video was great and I advise you to watch it a couple of times before installing. Paper instructions not so good. If you have a 36 gallon fuel tank, I recommend you to do this install on a lift. I do not recommend you to install on your garage floor especially if you are 67 years old, still sore from laying on my back. You must remove spare tire and heat shield. I installed with tires on and very tight working around large fuel tank area. Going on a test drive to see if everything holds together.

The service is superior. I ordered on line on Saturday and it shipped the same day. It arrived the following Thursday. Came in two boxes and took us about a hour to install (the rails were previously installed with the old hitch). Price was very competitive. This is my 3rd purchase from etrailer and won't be my last.

This hitch along with the Reese Revolution king pin works flawlessly on our 2019 Sierra with a short bed. People can not believe we pull a 5er and have no cab contact without using a sliding hitch! Robert is the one that turned us on to this arrangement.

Delivery was fast and packaged well. This is my first 5th wheel hitch and has worked great for me pulling a shorter camper with a long bed 3/4 ton truck. Nice height adjustability to match the truck with the trailer. Good solid feel while pulling.

Looks like this is going to be a perfect fit for what I need to pull my 2011 Rockwood Signature Ultra Lite 8265WS, 5th wheel trailer with the Revolution pin box. Just had it installed & after many years of driving truck with a 5th wheel, I can tell this is a good sturdy 5th wheel & looks good too.

Great fifth wheel hitch for the money. Gives a much smoother ride than my previous Reese than only rotated front to back. The customer service from etrailer was second ton none. I will definitely purchase from these folks again.

The hitch has worked great so far . The only problem Ive had so far is the release arm sticking in the release position when trying to get it to go back in to close the jaws after pulling out from under my fifth wheel. I have had to nearly force it back in to get it to close.

Product arrived as scheduled, boxes were in great shape considering the contents. Installation was straight forward. Around 4 hours to complete due to difficulties of the Toyota chassis. All said and done. I am very pleased with the product and Etrailer. Will order from them again without hesitation. Look forward to towing soon..

Great hitch. Used it to pull a super lite fifth wheel fro Cody, WY to Casper, Wy then from Casper to Odessa, TX. Never had an issue one. It held on to the RV with no problems and is a breeze to connect and disconnect.

After getting the rear rail installed, I used the hitch to set the front rail. I worked perfectly. I can remove the hitch without any binding. This was a problem with my old hitch on my old truck that was installed by the service department where I bought my original 5th wheel trailer. This is basically the same hitch as I had before on my old truck and I had no problems with it after towing approximately 37,000 miles over 15 years so I expect that this hitch will give me the same service.

Good product for the price, a little noisier than my previous hitch, but that could be because my old 5th wheel was much lighter. Installation seemed easier according to the instructions, however I got the job done.

When I ordered my part (2) packages I just happened to get a very customer focused and knowledgeable person to assist me. Her name is Jaime B. I have ordered from e-trailer in the past ,however I was pleasantly surprised with my service . She actually under promised and over delivered. I like it like that.

- RP30047
by:

Overall good experience, except the shipping. Not etrailer's fault, UPS separated the packages and the second one to arrive looked like it was drop kicked. The ramp on the plate was bent, and the black coating is cracked but I guess it will still be serviceable. Fit right in place of my prior hitch and I look forward to trying it out soon. Went from a slide bar to the dual jaw hoping to be rid of the chucking during stop and start up.

Comments
Hitch worked as advertised and no more chucking during stop and start, smooth sailing with the new hitch!

The hitch has worked as expected. I would expect nothing but from Reese. During our last trip the hitch started to creek so I removed the top and applied a little grease. This unit is working in conjunction with a Revolution king pin box on our 5th wheel. We are very pleased with this unit for our application. Etrailer has been our go to place for many trailering items. I would recommend them overall for customer and product performance

Comments
Wow, thanks for the product follow up. We have used the Reese hitch a lot this past year traveling out west into South Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado etc. Hitch has worked perfectly. For a while I did take advantage of the RVs revolution hitch but found that it was to stressful on the hitch and more difficult to connect to the hitch so I have gone back to a standard 5th wheel configuration. etrailer is my go to supplier for RV stuff unless I have an emergency and need to act on a failure immediately.Anyway thanks for the follow up. Everything is working well here. Just trying to keep warm

  • Fifth Wheel Hitch For A 2015 Ford F-150 With A 55 Bed
For the 2015 Ford F-150 with the 5.5 bed it is not recommended to use a slider because of the bed length. The rails are installed over the axle because of the vertical load from a fifth wheel or goose neck trailer. Because the truck has a 5.5 bed it requires a Sidewinder to give you the clearance needed when making turns. Setting the hitch height is determined when setting up the hitch. Typically when we install them we set them at the middle height and that is usually enough. If you set...
