  • Standard - Double Jaw
  • Double Pivot
  • 10 Inch Fore/Aft Travel
  • 4000 lbs Vertical Load

Fifth-wheel trailer hitch provides excellent jaw-to-king-pin contact with a 2-jaw latching system. Square-tube slider helps to eliminate clearance concerns during slow-speed turns. Rails and installation kit sold separately.

Features:

  • 2-Jaw locking system provides more jaw-to-king-pin contact than slide-bar models
    • Less rattle
    • Greater security
  • Square-tube slider provides clearance required for your short-bed pickup to turn safely at slow speeds
    • Prevents trailer from hitting the cab of your pickup during sharp, slow-speed turns
  • 4-Way pivoting head eases hookup on unlevel ground
  • 3" Height adjustment
  • Wide stance offers excellent stability
  • Black powder coat finish resists corrosion
  • Locking handle has cushioned grip
  • Above-bed rails and mounting kit sold separately
    • Fits Curt, Valley, Draw-Tite, Hidden-Hitch and Reese base rails
    • Cut installation time in half by using a vehicle-specific bracket kit instead of the universal kit

Specs:

  • Gross towing weight: 16,000 lbs
  • Vertical load limit: 4,000 lbs
  • Installed hitch height (including rails): 15" - 18"
  • Travel: 10" front to back
  • Limited lifetime warranty

Note: If using a slider, hitch will not adjust to lowest height setting.

Note: This fifth-wheel trailer hitch will not fit pickups with beds shorter than 6'. It also will not fit trucks with flareside/stepside bed. A minimum 13" extended trailer pin box is recommended.

Reese Double Jaw

Secure, 2-Piece Jaw

Unlike the more economical slide-bar models, the rounded, 2-piece jaw on this fifth-wheel trailer hitch inhibits rattle and movement by securely wrapping around your trailer's king pin, resulting in easier hookup and a safer, quieter ride.

Kwik-Slide Square-Tube Slider

Most often used on trucks with 6' beds, this roller helps to eliminate clearance problems during slow-speed turns. When you are towing a fifth-wheel trailer, your hitch must be situated on the cab side of your truck's rear axle. However, at slow speeds you can use a roller to slide the fifth-wheel hitch (and the trailer) toward your truck's tailgate and past the rear axle, creating enough space between the cab of your truck and the trailer to permit less-restricted turning.

Love the hitch. Hooks up easily and solid. Gives plenty of clearance. Only downside is it’s very noisy and you really feel the trailer. But for the price and weight it’s still 5 stars. Going to go up to a highway payload truck and will be getting the B&W companion for that. Not a reflection of the performance of this hitch though

Nice ride with this hitch . I was kind of on the fence about the pivoting but I’m good with .

Fabulous! I love the way it handles. Glad I bought it .

Ordered this hitch for my 2014 Chevy,it came in two boxes and was put together on the work bench in no time at all. and I also ordered the custom rail kit RP50064-58. Just in time for summer camping.

By the way I didnt have to cut my heat shield or remove my exhaust pipe when installing the custom rail kit.

Great,Just put the hitch in again last weekend ready for the bush and mosquitoes.

by:

I've used this hitch in an 08 f250 and a 15 ram 2500. All I had to do was purchase a set of frame brackets. The fact this hitch can be easily moved among tricks is great. Easy hitching and unhitching. Easy to use. Easily adjust heights. And the slide option being available is great.

by:

I purchased the Reese dual jaw slider and install bracket kit. Everything arrived in three days in perfect condition. After watching the install video and reviewing the enclosed instructions I installed the assembly myself. It took approximately 4 hours . As you can see I also did additional steps, cutting the rubber bed mat to fit around the rails. Also undercoating the brackets to blend in the wheel wells. Etrailer is definitely the place to go for all your RV needs.

by:

Instructions are very good, all parts came with the hitch and were well protected.
This is the first time I've ever put one of these hitches together so I read the instruction thorough.
There was some lubrication that was required.
It took me 1 1/2 hours.
The only thing I can add is when installing the upper handle for the release pin, it had burrs on the inside of the handle and made it difficult to slide onto the tube.
Make sure you check for burrs and deburr before installing. I would still give them 5 stars.

by:

I received the Reese 5th wheel 16,000 lb slider hitch from etrailer in June 2019; installed it in July 2019. Took around five hours to install the base rail kit and Reese hitch start to finish. So far so good, this heavy duty slider hitch works flawlessly with my F250/fifth wheel combo. It arrived in multiple boxes, had excellent instructions and an operating manual. For myself and other do-it-yourselfers, etrailer provides excellent support and installation videos to help with the install.

by:

I bought it used it twice got rid of the 5th wheel. Never again would I own a 5th wheel biggest mistake I ever made
And it's for sale so if you know someone who would want it let me know

Being a first time 5th wheel owner and After researching for the right 5th wheel hitch for my 2011 ext cab chevy Z71 4wd. and the best prices i went with the reese 16 K slider hitch. A must for a 6 1/2 ft bed.
And etrailer had the best price and were very helpful answering all my questions
The hitch arrived in 3 days,
One of the 2 boxes was a little torn up but nothing was damaged,
The instructions were great, and it had more than enough hardware needed for different apps.
I had 2. choices for the mounting brackets,I went with the custom fit not the universal the custom brackets are strong and fit perfect.
I watched a couple install videos online, there were not many on my truck people said you have to cut out your exhaust and your heat shield and drop the gas tank.I did not have to drop my gas tank i just slightly bent down the heat shield to reach above it then pushed it back up.
I used the Allen button head bolt for the left front and had my wife spin the bolt with a long extension and ratchet while I held the nut and washers with a magnet and my finger tips,it was kind of a (pima) and took a little time but way better than dropping my tank.
I did call Reese with a couple questions and suggested to use stronger shipping boxes.
The only thing I had to adjust was the support for the parking brake cable.
I did the hole job on the ground in my yard
This also was a good time I replaced my rear brakes, checked my spare tire psi,and llubed my cable for the spare lift.
Every one was verry nice and helpful from etrailer and Reese.
I wish I was better with computers and could of made a video

Still working great.I have room my hitch out a couple times not the railes and it was simple.I am berry satisfied with the hitch and mounting plates i went with.I highly recommend this product.

by:

This hitch has a feature or two we didn't even expect. It was an easy install and is performing great. Plenty of maneuverability and rock stable. etrailer's service was incredible and stayed on top of the delivery until we got it. We thought they went the second mile to make sure we got our hitch.

by:

Ordered the Reese 16K square tube slider on Wednesday and received it on Friday even using the free shipping. That is a remarkable delivery on any product especially a very heavy 5th wheel hitch. Assembly requires only a few basic tools. Took my time and within a couple of hours had it installed and ready to use. Bed rails were already installed.

Have towed my 36 Cedar Creek 5th wheel about 600 miles with the hitch. No problems. Does what it is designed to do. You can spend more if you wish but this is a good solid hitch. Also would recommend etrailer.com to anyone as the place to buy. Keep up your great service.

by:

Item was great, however twice now the packages have come severely damaged and once items were missing. I think you need to consider better packing on heavy items. because of this I could not give 5 stars.Thank you though for shipping out the missing items quickly without hassle.

by:

I give etrailer 1 star I would like to give them no stars (less than poor) for this transaction. I received this hitch Thursday 2/10/2022 the box was in a very tattered condition. I opened the box on the next day Friday 2/11/2022 it appeared that the box did not contain all of the pieces for the hitch, looking at the box it showed that there should have been 2 boxes, I received box 1 of 2. I called and spoke with someone at etrailer they informed me that UPS had damaged the second box in shipping, and that they had returned box 2 of 2 to etrailer. I was never informed by UPS or etrailer of what had taken place. I never received any notification that the first box had been delivered. The only correspondence that I have received was an email from Carol C informing me that she was notified that my order had been delivered, she also sent me this link for me to write a review. I have been told by the person that I had spoken to that my missing parts to my hitch would be shipped. It is now 2/14 I still have not received any notification of my parts being shipped, or when I will receive them.

by:

Overall the product seems to be good quality. The instructions could be a lot more clear. After calling Reese, even the guy on the phone agreed that the spacers provided should be shown as going in above or below the bed. Unfortunately with the size of the U spacers provided, there would be no way to get the nut on the length of bolt sent. Also there were lock washers in the package which the CS rep didn't know what they were for either. Finally, the cotter pins provided are weak, 2 broke already and the handle to adjust the slider didn't have holes drilled for the cotter pin to keep it in place so i just drilled it myself. As a side note, the way the pins lock it in to make it removable, it has quite a bit of play which you can then hear when backing up or starting off.. Using on a Ford F250 2015 6-3/4 bed, pulling a FR 33BHOK (about 11k loaded).

by:

Quick delivery hitch required minor assembly it was open box but looked like new. Works great very pleased with purchase.

After a year of use this hitch is still like new. I am still very happy with this purchase

by:

This is a great hitch. I've been using it for a year now and have had no problems with it.

by:

The service was good. They shipped it out right away and went only half of my package showed up. I called them in a real person in the US, answered the phone and took care of the issue. I received both packages in my order and I’m very happy. Thank you.

by:

I'm very happy with the product, service and price. I originally had a used non sliding Reece fifth wheel hitch installed in my 6 1/2 ft. Tundra Bed. It didn't have enough clearance for backing into some spots and my new truck cab got dented ($1,700 repair bill). This sliding fifth wheel is the answer, very easy to install on same bed rails.

BTW etrailer doesn't recommend a non sliding fifth wheel for my truck. Smart.

by:

The box arrived with an email from your company stating that the carrier UPS had put in a claim for damages. The shipping box was torn open on each end, I did not even try to open the cardboard box for fear I would not be able to send it back. The shipment is sitting on my front porch exactly where UPS left it.

Great! wish I had bought sooner. Much easier to hook and unhook. Allows easier access to front 5th wheel compartment.

Everything came when expected. Easy to assemble with very detailed instructions. I was missing 1 part but a call and an emailed picture was quickly handled and resolved. I have not been disappointed with etrailer.

  • Does it Matter Which Side Slider Handle is On for Reese Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch
There is no particular reason that you can't have the sliding handle inserted through the passenger side of your Reese Sliding 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # RP30051. The reason that most sliding hitches you see have the handle coming out from the driver's side is simply for convenience. Since you will be coming out of the driver's side door when needing to operate the slider, this just allows for quicker access instead of having to walk all the way around to the other side of the truck. • Is It Safe To Have A Gap In The Jaws Of My Reese 16K Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch?
I know it seems odd that the jaws on your Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Square Tube Slider # RP30051 do not close around your kingpin completely but just as Reese had told you, it is completely normal. The reason there is a gap is because the diameter inside the jaws while coupled is less than 2" which is the diameter of the kingpin, therefore a gap must be present. This gap can be anywhere from 1/4" to 5/16", and will not present any issues while towing your 12K trailer.

  • Can a 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Hang from the Trailer Kingpin when Its too Heavy to Move Alone
You do not want to do this. It can damage the hitch but more importantly if it were to fall it could badly injure someone. If you try to lift the whole hitch and base out together it is going to be difficult. All you have to do is unbolt or unpin (depending on the hitch model) the head from the base. Remove the head, then remove the base. This is the safest way to remove the hitch when you are alone.

Reese part # 30051 is a 16,000 pound capacity slider hitch. The slider unit allows 10 inches travel to allow more turn clearance. Fifth wheel hitches are not particularly difficult to install for someone with average mechanical tools and ability. • Should Fifth Wheel Rails Be Masked Off When Installing a Spray-In Bedliner
At the very least you would want to mask off where the hitch attaches to the rails, but if it where me I would just mask the rails completely. That way if you ever decided you wanted to remove the rails from your truck you would not have bedliner over the installation hardware.

On the forward rail measuring to the center point between the 2 rails is approximately 11 inches (measuring from the center of the forward rail to the center of the hitch jaws). • Does the Pin Weight of a Trailer Need to be Subtracted from Payload Capacity on a 2017 F-350
According to the owner's manual for your 2017 Ford F-350, "Payload is the combined weight of cargo and passengers that your vehicle is carrying. When towing, trailer tongue weight or king pin weight is also part of payload." Therefore, if the payload capacity of your F-350 is 3,150 lbs (see label on driver door jamb) and your trailer has a loaded pin weight of 2,800 lbs then that means you only have 350 lbs left for passengers and cargo. If you check out the installation video I attached for the Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Square Tube Slider # RP30051 that you referenced you'll be able to see how the slider mechanism activates. • Can I Tow a Trailer with the Slider Hitch Close to Tailgate With Cargo in Bed of Truck
A slider hitch like the Reese # RP30051 will move the hitch and king pin 10 inches closer to the tailgate to increase your turning clearance. Unfortunately, you cannot tow with your slider hitch slid back because it's for tight maneuvers only. The hitch is positioned so that the pin weight of your trailer is directly above or slightly forward of the rear axle. Behind that point, the capacity of the truck is lower and it can also unweight the front of your truck which will cause braking...

  • Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for 2018 Ford F-350 with Factory Rail Kit
Since your 2018 Ford F-350 is a long bed you do not need a slider hitch. Slider hitches are for giving extra turning clearance for short bed trucks. So a fixed hitch like the B and W Companion part # BWRVK3300 would be an excellent option confirmed as a fit. This will fit your factory rail kit directly and will give you the best hitch around. • My 5th Wheel Hitch Has Small Gap on Jaws When Connected to King Pin
The jaws on 5th wheel hitches like your Reese # RP30051 aren't going to be perfectly circular and actually have a slight elliptical shape to them. Due to this elliptical shape the jaws will not completely close around the pin when hooked up to the trailer and a small gap is common. A gap of approximately 1/8 of an inch is well within in tolerance limits. If you have this small gap, and the handle is properly secured as you have mentioned then you should be good to go. • What is Difference Between Pin Weight and Payload Capacity for 2007 Chevy Silverado
So payload capacity is different from the pin weight capacity of a fifth wheel trailer since payload is basically the weight capacity of the truck bed and the pin weight capacity is the capacity of the frame since the hitch doesn't use the bed as support and attached directly to the truck frame. So you are totally fine to tow your 7,500 lb trailer with your 2007 Chevy Silverado 1500.
