Fifth-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter
This unique coupler lets you tow your fifth-wheel trailer with your gooseneck hitch. It is air ride equipped to ensure that less stress is put on your trailer's frame than is typical with traditional king pin adapters. Simply replace your trailer's existing pin box with the Goose Box and you'll be ready to go.
Eliminate Chucking and Jarring
The Goose Box is designed to absorb road shock for a smooth, stable ride. The internal air bag can be adjusted to give you just the right amount of support, so you will lose the bounce but avoid the stiff, rigid ride that occurs when towing with an overinflated air bag. Also included in the Goose Box are dual shock absorbers, which ensure that compression of the air bag occurs in a controlled fashion. This extends the life of the air bag.

This trailer coupler adapter has a built-in air bag that provides cushion and absorbs road shock. The Reese Goose box is a great addition to our fifth wheel. It torsion flexibility and its air bag give great control over the ride. We replaced the standard Lippert fifth wheel hitch with this and the ride difference over the rigid Lippert hitch is amazing. It was easy to install and is very easy to connect and disconnect to the tow vehicle. We're very glad we made this decision and recommend it strongly.
Will never go back to a traditional fifth wheel hitch! The RV rides considerably smoother, especially over those bridge expansion joints. Also love not having a huge hitch in the back of the truck. 100% recommend!
Not real hard to install, uninstalling the old one was harded. Install took 1 hour. I have a flatbed truck, hooked it into the ball backed under the trailer, raised the back of the Reese up into position with a jack, in to the bolts, given to spec's, take for a test run....
Good product terrible shipping
Looks great haven't put it on yet but I think it will good
Great Product. Fit to finish is 100%. Easy to adjust and operate.

Overall a great upgrade, but not perfect. Happy to have gone this way from the previous 5th wheel hitch setup. Pros: * Having nothing in the bed of the truck, except when towing. * There is more room for a larger bed chest without the 5th wheel hitch (replaced a B&W Companion slider). * Air bag system seems less jarring on the frame of the 5th wheel than the B& W Companion / Lippert Rotaflex. * Seems to have reduced further what little "chucking" there was with the Companion/Rota-Flex setup. Cons: * Lining up to hitch is a PITA. Reese should really rethink this. * Towing is not as confidence inspiring. The trailer feels like it wallows in rough undulating turns in comparison to the 5th wheel connection. * Sits much lower than the 5th wheel pin box, so at level RV sites the bottom of the hitch is lower than the truck bed. That affects the length of RV site needed as the truck can't back under the trailer to park. * The pinbox structure requires more room in the bed, limiting what can be placed on the sides & rear of the bed. To help with hitching, I'm going to make a magnetic "sighting" system that can be seen through the rear window. something that can be tossed in the bed chest when not in use. Currently I'm using the bed camera (in the CHMSL) along with a camera that I set on the wheel well, and that is marginal at best. It still takes multiple attempts because of the limited tolerance. Once the bed chest is installed the camera will be pretty ineffective.

IF you have a gooseneck ball and a fifth wheel RV, then this is the perfect match for your rig! The Reese Goosebox changes everything! Easier hook up and unhooking. Smooth ride and easy installation. etrailer has plenty of videos for review and installation, plus you can call them and ask about it if you have any questions. I have had it for a year now and just installed it on its second camper and I would have it any other way! It is exactly what you need!

This thing is great! Install was a breeze took about 2 hours to install taking my time and torque. All I did was sat the pin box up on cardboard and wooden blocks, then slid the pin box under the king pin when it was close enough. A buddy and I installed it. Towing is very smooth and nice and easy. No bucking. Everything is great with this gooseneck pin box. I'm extremely happy and I'm even at the camp site right now reviewing this! Thanks etrailer.

This Goosebox is heavy but I was able to get it installed by myself with help from my wife while tightening the bolt. When UPS freight delivered this, the driver was kind enough to load it directly into my truck so I did not have to lift it up. Using my truck I was able to back it into position where it went in effortlessly. I first took the zirk fitting out so I did not break it. The Goosebox was shored up using 2X4 pieces and then strapped in place, so it was in position while backing it up to the fifth wheel. This is a well made and stout pinbox replacement. The one issue I do have is that the air inflation gauge is very hard to see. Basically it is a black bar inside a black hole. The next time I am hooked up, I intend to put some white or other bright colored paint on the bar for easier viewing. No more lifting the heavy hitch to of the bed to use the truck. As always etrailer is hard to beat, fast shipping, expert advice, great prices.

My camper is 4 yrs old. I was using a gooseneck offset adapter to hitch fifth wheel to truck B&W gooseneck hitch. I upgraded to the Reese 16k Goosebox with a recommendation from a friend. I am absolutely impressed by how this hitch tows. No more chucking, the airbag and shocks add a much needed level of comfort. My camper is a Starcrart AR-One Maxx 26BHS. I’m towing with a 2005 Ram 3500 4x4 CCSB. I am using the B&W offset hitch ball to create more space between the truck cab and camper bulkhead. Highly recommend this hitch to anyone looking to tow their 5’er with a gooseneck ball hitch.

When I attempted to install this the width was 1/2" smaller than the trailer original. It took me about 15 calls to etrailer, the distributor and back and forth. Finally the distributor gave me the name if the manufacturer. When the women from the manufacturer helping me said, "Let me look at he specs". I knew I had the right person. It was at the limit as far as installing on my trailer. Now that it's installed I love it.

After dealing with the awkward 5th wheel hitch and pin box for many years on several RV's, I decided to try the Goose Box. Absolutely the very best mod I've done on my 2019 Alpine 5th wheel.

I have completed the installation of the Reese Gooseneck pin Box 20K on my 2019 Columbus 1492 366RL. The installation went well for 2 people. The installation was done as suggested in the instructions, one step below the original fifth wheel hitch. That actually proved to be too high for my 2019 GMC DenaliHD 4x4 DRW so I moved the hitch to the same position as the original equipment and the height works much better. I was able to unbolt and reset the position of the hitch by myself using the truck bed as a "work bench" and raising and lowering the RV to align the holes. Haven't towed it yet but will soon and provide more info. As you can tell by the photos, the safety chain installation was very easy.

Ordered this to replace OEM king pin on my 2019 Solitude 375RES. Due to it being delivered via freight it took a little longer than expected, had to make an appointment to have it delivered, not to big of a deal. The cardboard this comes in is very hefty, as it should be for the weight of the item. As stated by other, there was not any instructions included, easy to find online though. I am not the mechanical type but a little handy with basic tools and it took me about 2.5 hours, this includes taking the old pin box off. Watched a few videos on how people used wood blocks and used the tailgate of the truck to install. I was worried about braking the zerk fitting off so I attached the couple to my goose ball. I than used blocks of wood to shore it up and used the truck and the fifth wheel to line it up. Hooking up is easy. On my test drive I can tell this will handle better, did not have as much chucking as with the fifth wheel hitch. Looking forward to our next camping trip to give it a true test.

The fifth wheel hitch is very well built. Easy to use and hook up. All those the trailer will buck when driving on ruff roads. It may be that I don’t have the right air pressure in the hitch. What’s your thoughts.

Only made one trip so far but could definitely tell a better ride from my B&w companion and a lot easier to have a clean bed. It is harder and slower than the B&w fifth wheel to hook up to and unload but worth it

I had changed from a 2500 to a 3500 DRW that happened to include the GM puck system. I was left with a choice: do I spend hundreds on a puck adapter system to allow my old industry standard rail fifth wheel hitch to work with my new truck? Or do I sell it for as much as I can, and change over to something like the Goosebox? In the end, I was able to sell my old fifth wheel hitch and purchase this Goosebox, and the difference cost about as much as the adapter would have cost. Furthermore, the bed of my truck is now eternally empty and usable without needing to climb in and disassemble a heavy hitch, and I even lost a bit of weight in the bed. Yes, the Goosebox is heavy, but it is certainly not heavIER than a normal pinbox plus the weight of my old hitch. If my guess is right, I probably lost 50-100 lbs. To add to that, once the bag is inflated, the ride is so smooth. It's easily one of the best upgrades I did to my truck and trailer setup. Yes, hooking up is SLIGHTLY more complex than a traditional fifth wheel, but the time difference is minutes at most. Less, once you get used to it, or you have a good spotter to help. I kept the old pin box around, because I will want to keep this setup if I ever change trailers!

Installed on a 18,000 gvwr fifth wheel for use with a 2019 f350 drw. Install straightforward, I did need to shift vertically. I was able to borrow a friends gooseball which helped me pick out the best gooseball in terms of height (I ended up w the desired 7” clearance and the front of my fifth wheel about 1” high). Love the open truck bed and I’ve gotten used to centering the ball (at first I used some white electrical tape on the hitch to help me visually, but now I mostly rely on centering my dually with the fifth wheel sides. Nothing light weight about this unit! I picked up a mini grease gun that I use regularly. I adjust the air pressure to about 40psi, no issues with leaking when we are on the move. Very smooth ride.

Four stars due to airbag and terrible location of grease zerk. We've towed nearly 10,000 miles in a year and I would never want to use a Fifth Wheel hitch. We love how we can put our gooseball under the back seat of the truck when we aren't towing. We love the cushioning provided by the suspension and the airbag, but not being able to set the air pressure until after hitching is far from ideal. The grease zerk is in a terrible location that makes it more or less inaccessible once hitched. We've taken to simply putting grease on the gooseball before hitching. It's a good hitch and I'd probably buy it again, though I'd strongly consider the Gen-Y option as it lacks an airbag.

Ive had this on my 40' toy hauler for one year and it has been the best modification I have made to the camper so far. The airbag system works as it should and I like the adjustability with varying pin weights that occur in toy haulers depending on what you carry in the garage. I use my truck for work so not having to deal with the fifth wheel was worth it alone. Besides it also rides better than a standard rigid fifth wheel. The only downside is goosenecks are more difficult to hookup than a fifth wheel but this can be overcome with practice. [Online video] channel has some good info on the 2nd gen goosebox so worth a look if you are thinking of buying one it.
