Video Transcript for Rhino Rack Roof Rack Review - 2020 Toyota RAV4

Hey, everybody, welcome to I'm Bobby, and today we're taking a look at the Rhino-Rack's Vortex Aero Crossbars the SX Series Legs, here are on our 2020 Toyota RAV4. Now it's gonna be an excellent way of giving yourself a roof rack system. Rhino-Rack, in my opinion, I really, really liked them. They just seem to do a very good job and all of their products seem to be high quality, and they actually last quite a long time. So you know they're going to be working well for ourselves.

As you guys can see, we just have our aero bars on here today. Gonna be great little addition if we want to get a bike rack up on here, cargo basket, anything that we might want to throw up on there, with 165 pounds weight capacity, we're going to have no trouble at all getting most of everything we want up on there. Now one little caveat with that, let's make sure we are checking our vehicle's owner manual guide. Make sure we're not exceeding that roof limit, however, I think we are going to be well within our range of parameter, so we should be doing okay for most of everything we need up on here. It is going to be made of aluminum with that powder coat finish for ourselves, so it is gonna be holding up quite well on top of our car.

Now the installation almost takes no time at all. Let's go ahead, start breaking it down. So guys for installation gonna be pretty straight forward, we just have our bar here and our towers. You can see, we already have the one side installed and we already have one of our other bars up on the car to actually get our towers in place, though we're going to take our SX Series here and we're just going to simply take this little guy. we're gonna insert it right here.

So what we're gonna have to do, take that end cap off of course, it might not already be installed for us, so make sure we have our key to do so, and we're just simply going to slot this right in, get that in position, start sliding this all the way through. So as you guys see we can go ahead and expose that. Now here's where things are going to be a little different at home for ourselves of course. Now you can go ahead and kind of pre-measure on your roof and try to get a good basis of where you want this. I always find the best way is just to simply take these foot pads out and start getting it on your car.

What's great about raised rail systems, we aren't gonna be fixed exactly where we have to be, we can put this exactly where we want, so let's go ahead, grab this and get it on top of our car. All right, guys, we're just going to go ahead and start setting this across our car here. So our RAV, we just simply want to slot it on over there, make sure can have this guy open here and get it in position. Now we do want to go ahead and start measuring a couple little dimensions here. So big things, we're going to try to match our overhang, and an easy way to do that is just to walk to the front of the vehicle and try to match it up with either side, and then we're actually going to go ahead and start tighten this down. So let me go ahead and grab a tape measure and get our right distance from our rear crossbar. I'm gonna go ahead and from our center of our other crossbar to our center of our front, it's going to be about 25 inches. Now this can be kind of dependent on where you guys want it. Of course you can see, we have a little bit of track left here, going left and right or forwards and back on our vehicle. Now that can be to spin it on also what kind of accessories you guys want to put on here. Now this is going to be a pretty good spread, about 24 to 29 inches is usually gonna be a pretty good distance for most of our crossbar accessories that are gonna need that right spread. So now that we are at 25 inches, we can go ahead and start tightening down our crossbar to our raised rails here. To do so we just have a little insert right there, we're going to take our included tool from Rhino-Rack here and just simply insert it and start tightening down. And what that's going to do, it's gonna take that front pad there and start cinching it in and also tightening our crossbar to our tower system. Well, now that we've gone ahead and got it cinched down, we want to do the same to the other side. When we are all the way completely secure, we're just simply gonna take our end cap, reinsert it, and then lock it up with our plastic key. That's gonna go ahead and make sure that nobody can take it off our roof. Now that we've got both sides cinched down, we're nice and installed. Now that we've actually gotten this all the way installed, I want to go ahead and actually talk about our stripping that we have. So on the top here in our T-slot channel, we are gonna have some included Vortex stripping. As you guys are going to see it's going to have that nice little ridge in it. What that's going to do, give us a lot of good friction for our accessories that are gonna go to atop, making sure they're not going to want to slide on our bar, but on top of that, that T-slot accessory becomes great to put any kind of T-slot accessory we wanted inside that channel. And with it too, on the underside, you guys noticed, probably when we we're installing, we have that open gap in there, so it does come with some rubber stripping as well. It's very important, once we actually find where our towers are to go ahead and recut our strips and fill these guys in, that's really going to cut down on that noise you're going to hear. Otherwise, you're gonna have that whistle, especially as you start accelerating to those higher mile per hours. Well, now that we've gone over a little bit of the specs on here, let's go ahead and take a look at our dimensions. From the top of our corrugate roof here, to the very top of our carrier is going to be putting us at 4-1/2 inches there, while from the top of our corrugate to the very bottom is going to be putting us at 3-3/8 of an inch to the very bottom. So keep in mind that clearance can be important with putting accessories on here. Now I think we're going to have a pretty good time, but if you have anything that has any long, long bolts, just keep in mind that we are watching that dimension, making sure it can fit on there properly. One last little thing with this guys, I really do like how this locking system works, as you guys can see that plastic key makes it really easy just to take those guys off. Now, if you're looking for a bit more of a secure kind of security issue, you can get these become metal locking cores, which is nice, of course, to make sure that our roof rack doesn't leave our vehicle when we leave it unattended. And one last little thing in that bar too, you are seeing that H-support structure, that's giving you a lot of good support structure throughout the entirety of the rack, therefore, we're not gonna be worried about it crumping or doing any kind of damage to itself as we get that weight on there, which is going to be excellent for us. Well, again, guys, I think the Rhino-Rack system can be excellent for your roof rack. As you guys can see, gonna get a lot of accessories on here with no problem. Personally, I think the aero style is one of the best ones you can get. I feel like a lot of accessories are going towards that style, so I think more and more accessories are gonna be moving to this style, and with that T-slot attachment on top, we shouldn't have any trouble getting anything we want on this guy. Well guys, I think that's going to do it for our look at the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars here on our 2020 Toyota RAV4. I'm Bobby. Thank you for watching..

Durable nylon legs let you mount Vortex Aero crossbars to your vehicle's factory elevated side rails. Custom-fit leg clamps tighten with included tool for easy installation on your rails. Pair with 2 crossbars to create a complete roof rack.

Just what I was looking for for my 2021 MB Metris Cargo Van with Raised Rails, for hauling a 14-foot SUP. I wanted as low profile as possible and the Rhino Rack SX Series Legs and Aero Crossbars looked best. Relatively easy to set up.

I purchased the Rhino legs, cross bars and J-style kaya carriers together and could not be more pleased with the combination. The system was installed in an evening and used the next day. The legs were very simple to install on the cross bars and then mount on the vehicle.

Using Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars, Using Rhino Kayak holders. Also use a Rhino bicycle rear receiver mount. Love Rhino products.....strong, well engineered, low noise, and every part is quality... mounts, straps, etc. Photo is departure picture from last years trip to Big Bend, Texas. We probably put a couple thousand miles on these pieces of Rhino equipment on all types of roads at both Big Bend Park and Big Bend State Park... You really cannot go wrong buying Rhino products. Everything they make is well designed and will not disappoint.

Rhino products are just great products They work today like the day I bought them and they show very little agewear. You really cant go wrong with Rhino products.

These legs with the Rhino-rack Vortex Aero Crossbars - 59" - Black - Qty 2 are a perfect fit for our Subaru Outback Wilderness with good overhang for a kayak loader. Check out the eTrailer video showing the install on a Wilderness. The info on their site is first class and a good reason to buy from them.

I bought the rhino rack rooftop rack a year ago and am very pleased with my purchase. I also added a rhino rack bike carrier to carry my road bike with me. It has performed very well on several camping trips in the past year.

The rack legs and cross bars were shipped immediately and arrived 3 days ahead of the expected delivery date. I was impressed with the ease of assembly and installation. The installation videos on the web site were very helpful. The rack is fitted perfectly to my vehicle and it blends nicely with the black trim on my roof rails. I am very pleased with the equipment and the price was actually about $50 below a similar rack assembly from a well known competitor. Chelsea D, who took my order over the phone, was very helpful and made the process very simple. Thanks for exceeding my expectations.

Easy to install on the Bronco Sport factory roof rails allowing for a very low install height for the Pioneer platform!

I did a lot of research on this product and others like it and even went to far as to buy a set from a different maker off of [online vendor] because it was far more inexpensive. They (Legs\Crossbar Combo)didn't work for my accessory (Thule Upride), so back the went.

I took the plunge and bought these paired with the Vortex Aero Crossbars and I cannot be more pleased. Rock solid, and they have to be when you have a $3500 bike on top of your vehicle. They don't make much noise and are very easy to install\uninstall as needed. I've used them solidly for a year now without a single issue!

I wholeheartedly recommend these legs and crossbars to anyone on the market.

The entire kit was extremely easy to install and Jaquan B. at eTrailer was very helpful. The Rhino-Rack crossbars look great and are sturdy.

Its been one year since I installed the Rhino Rack crossbars and I have absolutely no issues. The main use is to carry my Kayaks on my 2013 Subaru Impreza utilizing Yakima JayLow kayak carriers. The only caveat is to be sure to properly cut and install the plastic channel inserts (underside) or you will experience an annoying whistling sound. If you're looking for high quality crossbars, I highly recommend these.

These feet worked like a charm! We were able to use these to install the Rhino Pioneer Rack onto our existing factory rack (2007 Toyota Land Cruiser). Adam at was awesome!

The Rhino rack system we bought and installed has worked perfectly on our Subaru Crosstrek. We purchased it to hold a rooftop tent and it was easy to install, incredibly sturdy, and noiseless with or without the tent.

They fail to tell you that you can’t go through a car wash once installed. I spoke with Rodney and he told me I have to pay 30.50 to return them. Insult to injury.

Most roof racks are designed to be taken on and off the vehicle. It can damage the vehicle and roof rack to leave the cross bars on in an automatic car wash.

The Rhino rack legs attached very easy to our Subaru Ascent. The directions were clear and the parts functioned as expected.

I am very pleased with the Easy to navigate website and expedited shipping for no extra cost. I ordered and received my product in about a week, which is very reasonable for being across the country.

The product arrived in tact and with no damage. Easy to put the rack bars on my jeep. I've included pictures of the completed result. We plan on buying the attachments that will mount our bikes and when we do we will be doing so from etrailer.

Good quality, great fit, and easy to in stall.

Having used Yakima racks in the past I found this rack had a couple cheap components. I like how solid the towers and crossbars are but the end caps and locks are weak, cheap plastic. Not sure how they'll hold up to the extreme heat of AZ are super cold elsewhere. The rack looks great being low profile and it seems structurally sound. The locks and end caps are my only real issue. It's a bit spendy to have such weak pieces.

Very easy to put together and install. Very good quality. Only problem is the wind passing by the rack emits a very high pitched whistle.

Works great very secure. Only think is an annoying whistle it causes by the wind passing under it while driving.

If you do not already have one, something that can help cut down on noise is a wind fairing like part # RRRF4
Rhino-Rack Fairing for Roof Racks - 50" Long
. It will not make your drive completely quiet but it will reduce the sound.

I spent a week reading reviews and forums to find the right one for my 2019 Jeep Cherokee that I just bought a few weeks ago. I just have to overthink everything but it paid off. I just received them this morning and installed them myself! First time for everything! It was really easy. The only part that was frustrating was the very first part... sliding the rubber pieces into the crossbars. They would not slide very well so I ended up using a bit of oil to make them slide better. Other than that, installation was easy and quick. I LOVE the looks of them. Very gorgeous!!! Thank you so much!! Very happy with the end result!!

They fit perfectly and as described, had no issues whatsoever. Whole rack system installed easily in an hour with all needed tools being supplied. They also work well with the kayak racks I had purchased prior to these.

Way easier to install than anticipated. Instructions were straightforward and easy to follow.

Fast shipping, warm body customer service. Good instructions, super easy install. Looks great on my 5th Gen 4Runner.

Nice, solid rack. It went together very easily. It will support my canoe and my rod rack fits well on it. It’s very light weight and the directions were spot on. There is also videos to help make installation easy.

So I would like to give a 5 start rating to E-Trailer. They not only had this in stock, but it was ordered and delivered all in the same week.
As for the Rhino Rack itself. Installation was pretty straight forward and it seems well made. The first test will be next week with our road trip. The only complaint I really have with the design of the

4The packaging looked like it was open at one time. I just realized that the tool to tighten the legs is missing. The product does not look new.
