This 1/2" hitch pin locks your bike rack to your hitch; the integrated steel cable locks your bike to the rack. The hitch lock fits Swagman racks with 1-1/4" only shanks and 1-1/4" and 2" combination shanks. The Swagman XC 2 Bike rack arrived in a timely manner and was very easy to put together. I was surprised to see how well it was made and how easy it is to load the bikes and adjust them. I took the bikes for a spin to see how well the bikes rode on the rack and was happy with how solid it was. The clamps seemed to hold the bikes solid but I'm going to use a strap to make sure nothing comes loose. Overall, I am very satisfied with this rack. I have a 1000 mile trip to FL this week so that should really tell me if it works as well as I think. I'm looking forward to try the rack out on a LONG trip.
We are very thrilled with the bike rack. The ease or ordering online and the helpful staff added to the excellent review.
Product was everything that it was advertised to be AND MORE.
Hitch mounted easily; sturdy; accepts a wide variety of bikes...recumbent, Rans Cruz (crank forward) and standard diamond frame. Amazingly functional product.
Thank you!
Greg S was really nice helping me find this part for Swagman Bike carrier. Had it off to me in no time. Hard to find good customer service these days. Thank you Greg, now enjoying my lock with Swagman bike carrier. etrailer.com great place to buy stuff.
This is a poorly designed and thought out product. If it works in your application, typically with an aftermarket hitch and a Swagman rack, one still has to deal with an end lock which makes access difficult. Also note that according to etrailer, Swagman uses a proprietary bolt and thread, so this product can only be used on Swagman products (etrailer: "As to the lock, Swagman has a specific thread pitch for their locks.").
This would not fit in my 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee with factory hitch. The lock cannot be installed on the right because the bolt/lock/key is too long, or hits the plugs on the left. Luckily etrailer is allowing me to return this product. But I am left without a lock to secure my bike rack and bikes to my vehicle since other company's locks will not fit a Swagman bike rack.
This seems to be good and long enough. It works with a Draw Tite 1 1/4" hitch for my '02 Ford Taurus wagon and Swagman XTC2 rack. The lock does not seem to allow the bolt to go deep enough giving a weak feeling mechanism. Good price though. The threads work well to doubly hold the rack to the hitch. The cable is long enough for what I need.
etrailer is where you want to purchase your hitch and trailer needs. Kimberly wad very professional. Shipping was fast. Product is 100%. I recommend etrailer for all your trailer/hitch needs.
This lock and cable works great with my Swagman XTC-2 Tilt bike rack. My hitch has a 1/2 inch hole (for the pin) and this part (S64031) is the right size for it. The team at etrailer was very helpful (phone and email) and took excellent care of me. They were knowledgeable and quick to respond. Thanks to Lori, Adam and others for providing great service! I'm happy and will buy from etrailer again in the future.
Works great. Nice solution for locking the bike rack to the hitch and the bikes to the rack
Great Service once again from etrailer Had issues with getting my order because i just moved but they helped me very step of the way Thanks again
Product works just like it say it does wouldnt recommend it for a car hitch to hard to unlock and lock with bikes on the XTC Swagman 2 and if you have the smaller hitch the bolt sticks way out so very easy to get bolt cutters to it I would just get a smaller rattle hitch lock and then use a different system to lock the bikes
Just got this. The threaded hitch pin that came with the bike rack was not long enough to be able to use the safety clip. The only complaint that I can currently see is that by having to insert the key into the lock end of the pin requires two hands. Excellent service from etrailer.
Exactly the product I was looking for to kill two birds with one stone: keep bikes locked to the rack and keep the rack locked to the vehicle. Thanks for always having great service etrialer!
I got these to work with my Swagman XTC-2 rack. I like the security of the locks and the cable when I have the bike loaded and need to park it unaccompanied. Great products for the purpose.
I no longer have to worry about theft of my bike or Swagman bike carrier. The lock & cable fits great on my Yukon receiver hitch, no wobble. I just had to place the lock on the right side of the receiver hitch, because it wouldn't clear my trailer plug on the left. The 7'cable is long enough to go through both bike wheels and bike frame. This system locks everything all in one system.
the swagman xc 2-bike rack ...Great trailer hitch bike rack. I use it for 1 bike.I could not be more pleased. user friendly, a quality, quality product, manageable weight, excellant support and reasonable price .Wisconny has @1700 miles of bike trails, with this hitch,,... I will enjoy riding them. yes i meant to say quality twice... Get yours self one, the swagman xc 2-bike rack........ you will be glad you did.
I installed the hitch and bike carrier on a 2021 Toyota Venza XLE. The installation went pretty quick, easy enough. The bike carrier (swagman XC-2) for 2 bikes looks great and easy enough to assemble (good quality and strong) and doesn’t interfere with the rear hatch! And the hands free opening works, just for pass your foot to the left or right of the receiver. I haven’t been on a road trip as of yet, but I’m confident in the quality!
Very reliable!
Extremely happy. Hitch, bike rack, and locking pin. All 5 STAR! So nice to buy quality merchandise that's not ridiculously priced.
Thank you!
Thrilled in Richardson, TX.
Some reviews or online forums seem to suggest this is option and I guess technically you can have a rack on your hitch without it, but it's absolutely essential if you don't want your rack to be bouncing all around everywhere, no to mention it keeps them from being stolen. It's easy to use and I don't put a rack on my car without this securing it.
The lock is good and it locks the bikes but I never thought about how hard it is to reach the hitch pin to put the lock on and secure it. Kinda a pain in all reality. But it all works when I do use it.
The Swagman Hitch lock is a great product. Both my bikes and the hitch itself are safe from theft and that gives my great peace. Also etrailer is a great place to purchase all of my towing and hauling needs.
Bought this to lock up two bikes onto a Swagman XTC2 rack on a Ford Fusion. The cable is the perfect length to handle going through 2 bike frames and locking to the hitch pin. I've used it only occasionally in the past year, but have been satisfied with it. The only downside to using it with a sedan is that it's a bit of a crawl to get down to the hitch to lock it up once the bikes are in place. It would probably be a bit easier with a higher vehicle like an SUV. But I don't mind it. I keep a ratchet wrench in the trunk for snugging up the keeper pin and it's very nice for keeping the hitch rack from rattling in the receiver.
We've used this rack for a year now on our Honda Fit. It's been great for our two road bikes, and we've taken it on multiple cross-country road trips. No problems with installing, or safety, or quality of the rack. We also bought the matching Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock and Cable. I read several reviews of this type of rack before buying and one of the complaints was that the clamp could rub the paint off of your bike's top tube, and the bike can rub the rubber off the clamping surface pf the rack. The way I've found around that is to get a cheap pool noodle, cut in half and split one side along its length. Then place the pool noodle around the top tube of your bike before clamping it down. This protects the finish perfectly on both the bike and the rack, it's light and it's cheap.
Products are good the assembly instructions are poor. Diagrams are too small. Instructions on where to put 2 small screws were vague. Called 800 number for assistance but person was not much help. Had to search the internet for assistance. Found what I needed on [video].
Excellent customer service. The YouTube video was a little unclear on with Hitch Lock Pin to select. If you have a 2" hitch on the vehicle and use the adapter which comes attached on the Swagman XTC2 Tilt you will need the 1 1/4 " Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock part number S64031 not the 2" part #S64030.
I purchased this product to upgrade the trailer hitch (locking) mechanism for a recently purchased Swagman hanging 4 bike carrier I recently purchased from etrailer.
This product is well made and is exactly as advertized, but the one aspect I didnt notice was that the locking mechanism that is secured to the trailer bolt is on the inside of the bolt, which is racheted to the hitch for saftey and a secure (non wobble) tight fit. However, to undo the lock, I found I had to remove the bolt all the way to unlock the system. For long hauls and saftey, this is a great product, but for short trips, I can see where it can be a bit much work to lock and unlock everytime.
I modified the use of this product to use the locking bolt to the trailer hitch, however I moved the cable to the upper arm of the bike rack. When the rack is extended upwards, the locking position ( twin holes) for the storage position aren't used. I used an extra locking hitch lock I had and ran it through the storage position holes. This allowed easier access to the lock (it is at the same level as the bikes) and I didnt have to unbolt the hitch lock to gain access to the bikes.
This is a solid well made product.
