When you apply the brakes in your tow vehicle, deceleration occurs and momentum pushes your trailer toward the rear of your vehicle. With surge brake systems, the actuator is triggered as your trailer moves forward while the tow vehicle slows. The actuator telescopes, applying force to its master cylinder, which in turn supplies the necessary hydraulic pressure to engage the trailer's brakes.

The part was a perfect fit and the service was prompt and friendly. I had a question and the person on live chat was friendly and helpful. I would definitely use etrailer again

Direct Bolt on, better than welding. Surge Brake Line connected just fine. Bled Brakes. Test drive was successful. What more could you ask for. I chose the hand tightening knob over the Lever because it was more assuring to me that it was tight on the ball and the locking mechanism has never failed. I have used Titan surge actuators for 40 years. I am using this actuator on a 4,000 lbs. boat and trailer. On my way to the lake!

The master cylinder leaks around the ca p.

You mentioned that the master cylinder is leaking around the cap. I suggest replacing the cap and we do have it available. It is part # T4480701

It mounted in the same holes my old unit was removed from great fit.

Ordered for item repair at our plant. Ordering was easy and shipping was good.

Perfect replacement for my existing brake. I'm using this brake coupled with the Titan actuator W/reverse lockout solenoid since there is no manual lockout and I don't have free backing brakes.

Great product works great on my boat trailer

This product perfectly replaced my tongue master cylinder on my 1992 Capri boat trailer. It bolted right up and the brake line thread was the same. It was super easy. It is a huge improvement!

Bolted right onto the trailer. No instructions and the link on the web sit didn't work but what do you need for two bolts. Wouldn't have minded some guidance with bleeding the brakes but got it done anyway.
Greatly improved the towing of my boat trailer!
Good price. Shipping good. What else would you want!?

Well, it worked great till I sold the boat last October. Shocked about the follow-up! Wow
Paul P - 06/07/2016

Just as shown online product fit perfect great to see a company that has great service and low prices. I will buy again when I need something. Brake actuator looks exactly like my old one saved a lot of time and money.

Excellent product. This was almost an exact replacement for the original one that was on my boat trailer. I had the boat out about once a week this summer and the actuator worked perfectly. Braking was smooth and it locks down easily on the hitch ball. I highly recommend this actuator.

Fast delivery & looks like the right brake actuator will install later this spring boat in storage. Very good service will recommend my friends to your company. Thanks for your help David Castle

Its working great replaced my 26 year old brake actuator

  • New Actuator Recommendation to Replace Atwtood Coupler on Tandem Boat Trailer
That looks like an older Atwood coupler. Which I am not surprised it isn't working as it's the most problematic actuator that we have experience with. Most popular coupler we have that would work as a replacement would be the Titan actuator part # T43397007K as it fits the same channel width as what you have and has a 7k capacity for drum brakes. It also can fit either a 2 inch or 1-7/8 inch hitch ball.

  • How to Bleed Air from Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator
On the Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator # T43397007K you can get access to the plunger for purposes of bleeding the system of air by removing the plate that surrounds the breakaway lever and by removing the front plate with the logo. You can then manually push the lever to pressurize the system and bleed out any air in the lines. It is also possible to bleed the brakes by using a 2x4 piece of lumber as a lever to compress the actuator to apply pressure to the system.` You may care to...

  • Master Cylinder is Not Pumping Fluid
If your actuator, like part # T43397007K, is new and you are testing the master cylinder without it being in the fully assembled actuator then that would be your problem. If your actuator is not new then you will want to look for any clogs in the brake line. There should be fluid moving through the line even with it being disconnected from the brakes. Try cleaning the brake line and if that doesn't help let me know and I can help you to troubleshoot further.

  • Replacement Surge Brake Actuator For 1979 Rolco Boat Trailer
It sounds like you need to replace the brake actuator on your 1979 Rolco trailer. When you say the hitch portion are you asking about a surge brake coupler on the trailer?
