The EasyFold XT platform-style rack is specifically designed to reduce the burden of transporting e-bikes, free-ride bikes, downhill MTBs, and other heavy bikes. It includes a ramp that lets you easily roll your bikes on and off the rack without lifting. The rack folds up for compact storage and has an integrated handle and wheels that make it easy to roll to and from your vehicle. It has independently adjustable arms with padded clamps that grip your bikes by the frames. You can tilt the rack with bikes loaded for access to your vehicle's rear cargo area. It also includes locks that secure your bikes to the rack and the rack to your vehicle.
Folding Ramp
A folding, aluminum ramp is included so you can roll your bikes on and off the rack- no heavy lifting required. The ramp extends 36" to create an angle small enough that you can roll your bikes up and down it with ease. There is also an extra-long, 53" ramp (sold separately) available for use when your EasyFold XT is installed on an SUV, van or other tall vehicle.
The ramp fits into grooves at the end of each wheel tray.
When you aren't using the ramp you can fold it up and store it onboard the rack.
Folds for Easy Transport and Compact Storage
The EasyFold XT folds for easy transport and compact storage. The wheel tray folds in half and there is a small lever under the base of the rack that lets you fold up the shank.
It has an integrated handle and wheels that make the rack easy to roll to and from your vehicle.
Adjustable Arms with Frame Clamps
The EasyFold XT's dual arms are detachable so you can reposition them anywhere along the upright tube to fit bikes of any frame style.
Clamps with built-in Road Dampening Technology (RDT) pads grab your bikes by the top tubes or downtubes to ensure safe transport with minimal movement and noise. The clamps can be rotated to grab bike frames with angled downtubes. The clamps include AcuTight knobs that click when they are tight around your bike frames. This prevents you from damaging your bike by over-tightening the knobs.
Sturdy, Molded Wheel Trays
The EasyFold XT's molded wheel trays can carry e-bikes, downhill MTBs, and most other heavy bikes. The top half of the wheel trays are made of durable, weather-resistant ABS plastic. The anodized aluminum bottom half provides a rigid outer shell without adding much weight to the rack.
Ratcheting wheel straps with quick-release levers let you secure your bike's wheels to the tray. An adapter kit (sold separately) converts the wheel cradle sets for use with your fat bike tires.
Tilting Design
The EasyFold XT tilts forward with bikes loaded for convenient access to your vehicle's rear cargo area. To tilt the rack, just press the handle at the front of the wheel tray. To return it to the upright position, push the rack back toward the base until it locks into position with an audible click.
Tool-Free Installation
The EasyFold XT installs quickly and easily with the AutoAttach system. Simply open the SnugTite hitch pin, slide the shank into your receiver, and close the pin so it slides through the pin hole and shank. Once installed, turn the knob to deploy an anti-rattle wedge in the shank. This helps take play out of the hitch connection.
Complete Security for Bikes and Rack
The EasyFold XT includes One-Key System locks to secure your bikes to the rack and the rack to your vehicle. Locks on each frame clamp knob secure your bikes to the rack.
The lock on the hand knob secures the rack to your vehicle. The hand knob will spin freely when locked so a would-be thief can't operate the knob to remove the rack from your hitch. The locks are keyed alike so you can use the same keys for all of the locks. Additional One-Key System locks (sold separately) let you make all of your Thule products keyed alike.
Hitch Compatibility
The rack works with both 1-1/4" and 2" hitches. To use it in a 1-1/4" hitch, simply remove the adapter with the included Allen key.

This is, without exception, the BEST bike rack we have ever owned. We have two e-bikes, which bring with them special considerations insofar as racks are concerned: we have to be able to cover them and since e-bikes are heavier, the racks really have to be up to the task. We have purchased other racks, even one recommended by our bike manufacturer, to great disappointment. This Thule rack is simple to mount, extremely stable and easy to cover. We drove 3,240 mile cross-country with two 48-pound bikes on the back of our Jeep and didn't have a single problem. GREAT CHOICE!1295785
Wow , works great easy to install on car and roll bike up ramp .... wish States would issue an extra license plate , you are best off to move it1297846
Excellent bike carrier that’s easy to use! I added on the longer straps to accommodate the fat tires on our ebikes, but other than that, I was able to unbox the rack and install/use it immediately. These bikes weight 63lbs apiece and this rack handled the weight with little swaying over the course of our 250 mile round trip. It might be a little pricey, but it sure gave me confidence that our bikes were safe and not going to be stolen or become hiway trash during the course of our trip.1133288
The Thule XT bicycle rack does not take two fat tire e bikes. But is great with 1 fat tire e bike and a normal off road bike. I tow the ebike and mountain bike to Houston at least twice a month and have no worries at all. But it will not tow two ebikes. Could someone recommend one that carries two fat tire ebikes. Specifically Himiway ebikes.1038704
Thank you for your review. The Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes does carry 2 fat tire e-bikes as long as they do not weigh over 65 lbs. a piece. You will need 2 sets of the Fat Bike Straps part # TH985101 Fat Bike Straps for Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack - Qty 2 $14.95 to adapt the straps for the width of the fat tires.
We purchased the Thule XT bike rack for a Tern HSD P9 electric bike - weighs about 50 pounds and it seems to work relatively well with one bike and hopefully we will figure out how to load 2 bikes.
Pros: Delivery from e-trailer was prompt. The bike rack folds up very neatly so is easy to store and has wheels as well. Putting bike rack into 2" receiver was a piece of cake. The built-in locking pin for the hitch worked easily as did the locking clamp for the rack. The non-verbal installation manual was very easy to understand. As newbies, it took about 20 minutes to install rack and put bike on. We haven't taken it out for a trip, so can't remark upon how jiggly it may be. The tightening mechanism on the hitch did eliminate any jiggle. The rack tilted back enough to enable the tailgate of a RAM 1500 truck to be put down. Sweet! The ramp did help in loading the bike but had it's own issues.
Cons: The mechanism to attach the wheels to the rack are plastic and I will be worried about their durability. Plan on ordering back up sets. The ramp is short (to fit within the rack) but it makes a very steep incline. It would be great an option for ramp extenders or a longer ramp. We plan on bringing plastic trailer levelers to reduce the steepness of the ramp incline.
One challenge with the Tern HSD bike is that the deraileur is low to the ground and it was necessary to lift the back end of the bike up to clear the rack platform if loading from the driver's side. This problem would be solved if the ramp incline was reduced.1222506

There is a longer ramp available for the bike rack. It is part # TH933402 Extra-Long Loading Ramp for Thule EasyFold XT - Folding - Aluminum - 53" Long $62.95. The extended length is 53 inches which is 17 inches longer then the ramp included with the Easyfold XT. The best way to load two bikes is to have the handle bars of the bikes set at opposite directions. The beginning of the video that I have linked shows how that would look.
This bike rack in awesome. I was surprised when I opened the box and it was completely assembled. Ready to go right on the hitch. It's really cool. I am now the envy of the block.
I have to give props to etrailer.com. The videos of each of the racks really helped me decide. I have zero buyers remorse, because I knew exactly what I was getting. Since the instructions are all pictures, in order to be multi-lingual, I learned pretty much everything from the video.1016906

The rack is the bomb! It took a little getting used to tilting the bikes as I ramp them up to get the bars through the frame, especially for the first bike. One thing I did was put an inexpensive pad around the long bar to the second bike, because the way it passed through it was scratching the first bike. That fixed the problem. I still love the rack. Easy to store and install. It is so easy, I just take it off and throw it in the trunk when we unload the bikes instead of risking leaving theft by leaving it attached. I know it has the key lock to prevent, but it is easy and folds up so nicely. Between the bars and the tire straps there is no way those E-bikes are falling off!

Box to hitch 1 minute. 2 ebikes and ready to roll 10 minutes. A whole new world has opened up. This is absolutely the easiest, most versatile rack ever. At 65, my days of putting a light bike on a roof rack are over. This will handle almost anything. The service and attention to detail was amazing. The etrailer team seems like friends at the local bike shop. BUY IT HERE!
Gotta go, mountains to ride.844365
This is the one. Fast light durable easy. I can carry with one hand. Fast lock into receiver Bikes load fast. Don’t buy that clunky rack that requires you to lie under your car to set it up. You will USE this rack, not store it. No hesitation, load and go. It will take longer to fill your water bottle than it does to load this rack. No wobble. No frustration.

The bike rack is ok, although I am disappointed in the ramp. That is one reason I bought this one. It is small, too flimsy for my ebikes. I have a Heybike with wide tires. It weighs 65 lbs with the battery. I had hoped to run it upon the ramp, then take the battery out. I will probably wind up just lifting my bike up, as ramp isn't really that sturdy. This is unfortunate, as I am almost 70 years young. Oh well, one day at a time, one foot in front of the other.1301445

This ramp is meant for bikes up to sixty five pounds, same as the rack. If your bike weigh more than that, could remove the batteries like you suggested to remove some extra weight. Another option for the ramp is part # TH933402 Extra-Long Loading Ramp for Thule EasyFold XT - Folding - Aluminum - 53" Long $62.95. It is made of aluminum so it is light yet durable and it will give a more gradual incline which would make loading and unloading easier.

Very stable, high quality rack for my Rad Rover Step-through e-bike with fat tires. This is a heavy bike at 65 lbs without the battery on and was one of the only ones I found that was rated at this weight. I've taken two bikes over 7,000 miles on my Outback without problem. The ramps have saved my back but it does take a "system" to load two bikes efficiently, especially when the pedals get in the way.1279592

Well built product and works great on my 2014 Kia Soul with a 1-1/4" receiver. We have two Rad Rovers on it and it is stable and smooth and easy to store in a smaller apartment without a garage. It looks nice and is easy to manage. Really like the way the rack goes into the receiver and connects. Very well thought out product and it was worth the wait.1071001
Great polite efficient service and excellent delivery time. The bike rack was extremely well packed and the instructions easy to follow. It's a bit of a squeeze but the rack takes my two fat tire eBikes and is very stable. The ramp is essential for these heavy bikes (78 pounds with batteries) I will remove the batteries for transport to get bikes under the 70 pound limit.1269041

Once getting used to its configuration and also placing it on the car trailer hitch receiver, it became clear how functional it really is and we’ve become very familiar with the loading and unloading of our E bikes. Have to say that we really appreciate having it as it is quite simple to set up and to take off after an activity. No regrets getting THIS Thule unit!1314016

This is a great bike rack. Easy to install/remove, well thought out. Loading bikes is also very easy. The included ramp is very handy for our heavy ebikes when we don't feel like hefting them into position. Also great is the compact way it folds up for storage.1298481

Had it for about a year and love it. I think it is the best Bike Rack for Ebikes out there. It is easy to set and load the bikes plus gives excellent security with the various locking options.1297953

I bought this bike rack to use with my Aventon Level ebikes. After quite a bit of research I decided on this rack due to the Aventon Level ebikes having fenders and no upper bar. Most similar style bike racks either clamp onto the tire or they clamp onto the upper bar. The Level ebike has fenders so I didn't want to risk bending the fenders. So far this bike rack is working great and I would recommend it.1283569

I am a woman in her 70's who finds this bike rack so easy to use. I highly recommend it for your bike or e-bike. Every detail is well- engineered for durability and ease of use. I have owned mine for a year, and just yesterday my husband and I were talking about what a great product this is.1313838

I'm impressed with the design of this bike rack. Thule has thought of everything in regards to safely transporting bikes, from the stablizers for the frames to the straps for the wheels. Also love the anti theft design for both the bikes and the rack itself.1292986

First the negatives: if you have a aftermarket mid-drive electric beach cruisers to load using the ramp you'll run into a bit of a problem. When loading the first one you'll bottom out mid way up the ramp, meaning the motor hits and you'll need to lift up the back end of the bike to get it up there. Then you'll need to lean the bike toward yourself to get the pedals past the upright black bar that the holders are attached to, this is a bit awkward due to the weight of the bike, the angle and height you are working at. You are probably better off just lifting this style of bike onto the carrier. When loading the second bike you can forget about using the ramp all together due to how narrow the placement is on the carrier between the two bikes. To me this carrier appears to have been designed for lightweight road bikes that have narrow profiles.
One of my cruisers has fat 3.5 inch tires. Before purchasing the carrier I did ask one of the experts on the site if I would be required to purchase the extra long tire straps. He said "NO" and that the carrier could accommodate tires up to 4-11/16, well that question has since been modified to read "YES" you do need to purchase the extra long straps.
Some positives: The ability to roll the carrier to the car is a nice feature. The way it screws to the hitch and it's ability to lock to the hitch is a plus. The bike clamps feel very secure and gives a peace of mind that your bikes are firmly in place and not going anywhere, even when parked thanks to the locking feature of the clamp.
Found the bike carrier with ramp to be extremely easy to use, it is light maneuverable & storable. I have a four-wheel-drive full-size Chevy Silverado pick up with a Lance 8.5 over the cab camper. Using a 7 inch hitch extension, I’m able to still enter the camper with the carrier in the down position, as shown in the picture. With the camper on the truck it’s easy to get my Mt. bike And my wife’s E bike on & off the carrier with the ramp. But with the camper off the truck the ramp is almost straight up and down, the truck is not low enough, and the ramp is not long enough. So I have to put a 10” step bench underneath the ramp so that I can get the bikes on and off using the ramp. I also purchased the Swagman RV horizontal 2 bike bag. The problem with the bike bag is that the little hole that slips through the hitch receiver is not big enough to go over the wheels of the carrier. So you must cut a hole big enough (10”x12”) to expose where the ramp is stored and the carrier latch points are exposed, so that the carrier will snap back & lock in the upright position. Then the bag will fit two bikes with this bike carrier. 655214
I made a mistake on my first order. I have an e-bike with fenders and ordered a rack that had a locking arm that could damage a bike with fenders. I called etrailer and was helped by Roger to reorder a rack that would accommodate my bike. He was great! Got to return my first unopened order and got the Thule EasyFold XT within 4 days. Very pleased with the rack and service I received from Roger & etrailer.1274762

I LOVE my Thule Easy Fold XT Hitch Bike Rack!!! I have a fused neck and was worried it might be too heavy and cumbersome to install. NOT AT ALL!!! Easy, peasy. Easy to load and off load, although I've only added my grandson's small bike.
Great company to work with. I would definitely order something from them again! 822017

Very pleased with this bike rack for my electric bike. I have used it behind my 2012 Ford Explorer and Motor-home. My bike is a fat Tire so I ordered the longer wheel straps and the longer ramp. Straps work excellent. I am 71 and the ramp is two narrow for fat tire bikes and are hard to keep bike on them for loading or unloading. I ended up making my own ramp by using a pet ramp and attaching ends that fit into both ramp slots of the carrier. Now it's a breeze to load and unload the bike without any help from others. This is a great carrier and I would recommend it to anyone with electric bikes775228
Original item showed up damaged from shipping. A quick phone call got the new one on its way, and a return label emailed. Convenient free return and fast no hassle replacement make etrailer.com a no-brainer choice! The bicycle rack mounts solidly and securely. Small footprint when folded and wheels make it an excellent choice. I have heard great things about Thule, and see them everywhere. I understand the appeal. I am a Thule fan!1265276

Great bike rack for our electric bikes. Because we are using it on a pickup truck, it works well when we need to tilt it down to access the back of the truck and put down the tailgate. Unfortunately, it does not tilt forward when we are not carrying bikes.1298168

Very impressed with this product. I hesitated due to price but it has what I needed so I ordered. etrailer helped and is excellent to work with. One problem with Thule is they need to provide fat tire straps with this bike rack for those of us who have fat tire bikes. I had to search out a place that had them and spend extra $xx so I could use the carrier. There is shortage at most places and very difficult to find unless u want to wait 4-6 weeks!!1190060

The fat tire straps are sold separately here: item # TH985101 Fat Bike Straps for Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack - Qty 2 $14.95.
The best e-bike rack out there is the Thule EasyFold XT part # TH903202 which uses frame clamps designed for step thru frames which allows fenders to not be an issue, has a 65 lb per bike weight capacity, and with the fat strap kit part # TH985101 for each bike with tires wider than 4 inches you'd be set. It also comes with a ramp to make loading and unloading easier.

We can help you select the right 2-inch hitch bike rack for transporting beach cruisers on your 2015 Lexus RX 350. Since your bikes both have fenders and front brake calipers you will need a rack that works with those features. The racks you referenced are great, but for your bikes we have a better solution.

Normally for bikes with step-through frames we recommend going with a bike rack that holds the bikes by their wheels, but since your iGo Metro Elite e-Bikes have fenders a wheel mount option won't work.
I recommend going with the Thule EasyFold XT # TH903202 for a few different reasons. It is compatible with 1-1/4" and 2" receivers, if has a weight capacity of 65 lbs per bike (so you may not even have to remove the battery), it comes with a ramp for easy loading, and it secures the bikes... view full answer...
For carrying an E-bike on a 1-1/4 inch hitch the best solution will be the Thule Easyfold part # TH903202 which is specifically designed for heavier E-bikes like yours and would work well. It has a ramp that pulls out to make loading and unloading the heavier bikes easier as well.

We have the perfect bike rack for your Roubaix Expert Carbon and the Specialized Turbo Vado 3.0 E-bike. The Thule EasyFold part # TH903202 has a higher weight capacit at 65 lbs per bike. For E-bikes like your Rad Rover there really is only one good option bike rack style. You'll need to go with a hitch mounted bike rack like the Thule EasyFold 2 Bike Rack # TH903202. This rack has the higher weight capacity needed for E-bikes as it has a capacity of 65 lbs per bike and can fit fat tires up to 4-11/16 inch in width.

The Thule EasyFold XT Bike Platform Rack # TH903202 is rated to fit with the Class I hitch on your 2007 Toyota Prius. The carrier weighs 45 lbs and is rated for bikes up to 65 lbs each. All of that still keeps you under the 200 lb tongue weight maximum of a Class I hitch.
The overall dimensions are 48-3/4" long x 27-3/16" wide x 31-1/2" tall. Even though you have a low hitch, the rise in the shank on this carrier will help you with the steep ramp or garage entrances.

You can take a quick measurement to see if the Thule EasyFold XT Bike Carrier, part # TH903202 will work on your Wrangler.
You will need a tape measure and a straight edge like a yardstick or a dowel. This will give you the distance you need to clear the spare tire. I have attached a link... view full answer...
In general we recommend you carry a single bike on the bike rack in the position closest to the rear of the vehicle. This just puts a bit less stress and strain on the hitch while traveling. That being said in most situations you would be perfectly fine to load the bike on the outside portion of the rack like the Thule EasyFold part # TH903202 that you mentioned. view full answer...

Yakima's Dr. Tray platform-style hitch bike carrier # Y02473 does top out at 40-lbs per bike weight capacity so for your 55-lb e-bike (and your regular bike) I suggest Thule's EasyFold # TH903202.
The Easy-Fold rack weighs only 45-lbs. It also offers compatibility with Class I, Class II and Class III hitches, unlike most other e-bike racks which fit only 2-inch hitches. The Easy-Fold even includes an aluminum loading ramp for easier handling of the heavier e-bike. view full answer...

This rack also has a built in ramp which makes loading and unloading easier. Since E-bikes are pretty heavy pushing them up a ramp is much easier than having to lift them up and set them on the rack.
