Specs:
The EasyFold XT platform-style rack is specifically designed to reduce the burden of transporting e-bikes, free-ride bikes, downhill MTBs, and other heavy bikes. It includes a ramp that lets you easily roll your bikes on and off the rack without lifting. The rack folds up for compact storage and has an integrated handle and wheels that make it easy to roll to and from your vehicle. It has independently adjustable arms with padded clamps that grip your bikes by the frames. You can tilt the rack with bikes loaded for access to your vehicle's rear cargo area. It also includes locks that secure your bikes to the rack and the rack to your vehicle.
A folding, aluminum ramp is included so you can roll your bikes on and off the rack- no heavy lifting required. The ramp extends 36" to create an angle small enough that you can roll your bikes up and down it with ease. There is also an extra-long, 53" ramp (sold separately) available for use when your EasyFold XT is installed on an SUV, van or other tall vehicle.
The ramp fits into grooves at the end of each wheel tray.
When you aren't using the ramp you can fold it up and store it onboard the rack.
The EasyFold XT folds for easy transport and compact storage. The wheel tray folds in half and there is a small lever under the base of the rack that lets you fold up the shank.
It has an integrated handle and wheels that make the rack easy to roll to and from your vehicle.
The EasyFold XT's dual arms are detachable so you can reposition them anywhere along the upright tube to fit bikes of any frame style.
Clamps with built-in Road Dampening Technology (RDT) pads grab your bikes by the top tubes or downtubes to ensure safe transport with minimal movement and noise. The clamps can be rotated to grab bike frames with angled downtubes. The clamps include AcuTight knobs that click when they are tight around your bike frames. This prevents you from damaging your bike by over-tightening the knobs.
The EasyFold XT's molded wheel trays can carry e-bikes, downhill MTBs, and most other heavy bikes. The top half of the wheel trays are made of durable, weather-resistant ABS plastic. The anodized aluminum bottom half provides a rigid outer shell without adding much weight to the rack.
Ratcheting wheel straps with quick-release levers let you secure your bike's wheels to the tray. An adapter kit (sold separately) converts the wheel cradle sets for use with your fat bike tires.
The EasyFold XT tilts forward with bikes loaded for convenient access to your vehicle's rear cargo area. To tilt the rack, just press the handle at the front of the wheel tray. To return it to the upright position, push the rack back toward the base until it locks into position with an audible click.
The EasyFold XT installs quickly and easily with the AutoAttach system. Simply open the SnugTite hitch pin, slide the shank into your receiver, and close the pin so it slides through the pin hole and shank. Once installed, turn the knob to deploy an anti-rattle wedge in the shank. This helps take play out of the hitch connection.
The EasyFold XT includes One-Key System locks to secure your bikes to the rack and the rack to your vehicle. Locks on each frame clamp knob secure your bikes to the rack.
The lock on the hand knob secures the rack to your vehicle. The hand knob will spin freely when locked so a would-be thief can't operate the knob to remove the rack from your hitch. The locks are keyed alike so you can use the same keys for all of the locks. Additional One-Key System locks (sold separately) let you make all of your Thule products keyed alike.
Hitch Compatibility
The rack works with both 1-1/4" and 2" hitches. To use it in a 1-1/4" hitch, simply remove the adapter with the included Allen key.

Heavy-duty e-bike rack has a ramp that lets you load your bikes with no lifting required. It folds up for compact storage, and it has built-in handles and wheels for easy transport. Rack tilts with bikes loaded for cargo area access. Locks included. This rack is extremely strong and exactly what is needed for ebikes. We have seen some really flimsy racks being used for ebikes and this is the only one I would trust.
I was extremely happy with this bike rack when first purchased. I had two Lectric XP 2.0's mounted on it and after a few short trips it was great to be able to not worry about my bikes.
It didn't, however, hold up over time - over time meaning I've had this less than one year. We took a 5,000 mile trip from Tennessee to Yellowstone and back over two months. During that time the bike rack itself had damage, but more importantly, both my bikes are damaged and I also have body damage to the Jeep Grand Cherokee in tow behind my motorhome.
Long story short, the arms that come down and "grasp" the bikes lose their grip. I check EVERY single travel day before we depart to ensure that the ratchet claws are tight and click when attempting to tighten down.
On a highway in South Dakota I noticed that the bikes weren't in their normal position. I pulled over and found that both arms had come off and two 75lbs bikes came crashing down on the hood of my Jeep. They were only held on by the ratcheting tire straps.
Later in the trip in Idaho, I saw the same thing in the camera. This time the plastic housing on the rack had cracked and also caused a puncture in one tire, scratches on both bikes, two bent crank wheels on the bikes, and what turned out to be $1,500 in repairs to my Jeep.
I'm extremely disappointed that I have a useless $1,000 bike rack, $2,000 in heavily damaged bicycles, and $1,500 in repairs to make to a vehicle.
I splurged a bit on this bike rack after reading the reviews and watching the videos. I have to say I am glad I did. This an OUTSTANDING bike rack. It is very solid, easy to load and secure my two bikes, holds an ebike very well, folds easily for storage and for carrying, and tilts easily when the bikes are loaded. I also like that it locks my bikes.
Only giving it 4 stars as it I have to use it for awhile and see how it holds up. Seems very well designed and built. Our Rad City and Blix ebikes fit really well. The rack’s flexibility for many bike designs is a real plus.
Previously had a Swagman XTC2 from etrailer and loved it! Then I bought an electric bike and it is too heavy, so I needed a new rack that would go on my 2017 Altima with a Class 1 hitch. I was happy to find the Thule EasyFold XT2 and that it also would work with a 2" hitch on my truck. Huge bonus it was on sale! I've used it a few times and it is actually easier to put on the car than the Swagman and the ramp is great for the heavier bike. I really appreciate etrailer for their informative website and how easy it is to do the research and read reviews. Then I had a few questions and they answer the phone!! Mike was really helpful to finish the sale.

Still love it!
Great polite efficient service and excellent delivery time. The bike rack was extremely well packed and the instructions easy to follow. It's a bit of a squeeze but the rack takes my two fat tire eBikes and is very stable. The ramp is essential for these heavy bikes (78 pounds with batteries) I will remove the batteries for transport to get bikes under the 70 pound limit.

Have used my rack many times and loading is much easier now I know where the pedals go. I regularly travel at speed with this rack loaded and it is so stable.
This is, without exception, the BEST bike rack we have ever owned. We have two e-bikes, which bring with them special considerations insofar as racks are concerned: we have to be able to cover them and since e-bikes are heavier, the racks really have to be up to the task. We have purchased other racks, even one recommended by our bike manufacturer, to great disappointment. This Thule rack is simple to mount, extremely stable and easy to cover. We drove 3,240 mile cross-country with two 48-pound bikes on the back of our Jeep and didn't have a single problem. GREAT CHOICE!
Very impressed with the quality. I had two e-bikes strapped on for a 9000 mile trip. It took a serious pounding being mounted on the back of our camper trailer. Very rugged.
I really like this bike carrier. It is well-designed and thought out for making storage compact, integrated ramp for loading/unloading heavy eBikes, innovated anti-rattle hitch, easy access foot step to unlock and tilt the rack, integrated wheel straps, and integrated locking system (no cables to deal with).
Great bike rack. The ramp is becoming more appreciated as I get older. The rack holds (2) 60+ lb e-bikes very securely. It takes a bit of practice to route the locking arms in place but once you get it, it’s not difficult. Tip: Once you get a loading configuration that works, take a picture for reference and quick subsequent loadings. etrailer.com was great to work with as always and that’s why I’m a repeat customer. They are the most knowledgeable company on the items they sell.
The Thule XT bicycle rack does not take two fat tire e bikes. But is great with 1 fat tire e bike and a normal off road bike. I tow the ebike and mountain bike to Houston at least twice a month and have no worries at all. But it will not tow two ebikes. Could someone recommend one that carries two fat tire ebikes. Specifically Himiway ebikes.

Thank you for your review. The Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes does carry 2 fat tire e-bikes as long as they do not weigh over 65 lbs. a piece. You will need 2 sets of the Fat Bike Straps part # TH985101 to adapt the straps for the width of the fat tires.

I purchased the rack and receiver hitch a year ago. Installation of the rack was made simple with the installation video that was specific to my vehicle (2020 Honda Accord). Literally took less than an hour start to finish. Only tool that I needed to buy was a torque wrench, which was about 20 bucks. It did require a very small cut in the plastic bumper that was accomplished easily with a keyhole saw. There was no drilling or other significant issues.
The rack itself is awesome! My wife and I have two Lectric XP3 bikes. They weigh about 65 pounds each with battery. When we travel I revome the batteries to save a bit of weight. I have made two cross country trips (over 6000 miles) with this rack and have never had an issue. Literally every gas stop or hotel stop someone asks me about the rack and bikes. It really is that nice. My wife usually scolds me because we lose a 1/2 hour of travel time each stop to visit with complete strangers:)
The rack is easy to install and remove on the receiver hitch. The lockout feature works great and gives a great deal of peace of mind.
The bikes are easy to load. I don't use it, but there is a ramp that could make loading the bikes easier if a person couldn't lift the bike onto the rack.
There are two arms the lock onto the frame of the bikes similar to the receiver hitch. Once locked down the bikes will not move.
I would recommend ordering the longer ratchet staps if you have fat tires. I think they cost around 20 bucks but the longer straps allow for a little more flexibility in arranging bikes on the rack.
I would strongly recommend this product and this company.
This is as solid and convenient a rack that there is. It takes some learning to get two eBikes properly mounted, but once done it's repeatable. Take photos once you have them satisfactorily mounted. Learning how to store the ramp takes a while as it's not obvious, despite the helpful arrows showing the proper orientation. If it's not in right the tongue doesn't store and the wheels don't come down. Once it's folded up properly it takes up very little space and is easy to move around. The tongue that goes into the towing receiver is excellent and there's no wobble. It's easy to go between the two sizes.
This has turned out to be an excellent choice to carry an Electra eBike and another bike. We needed a carrier with capacity to safely move a 50+ pound eBike and found several candidates. Although this is the most expensive, after a bit of deliberation and some contact with etrailer, we selected this one.
The clamps and straps do not interfere with eBike bike fenders. Some other carriers have a different restraining method. The capability to locate the clamps on nearly any spot of the vertical bar makes it great for carrying any combination of the bikes we own.
It is extremely easy to roll it out of the garage and set it up. Without hurrying, I can get it installed and two bikes on it strapped and clamped and ready to go in less than 15 minutes.
Installing and using the carrier is exactly as it is shown in the videos. Very simple and very secure when installed.
I have tried the ramp just to see how it works and I think it is solid enough to move any eBike. Presently we don't need to use it, but one day we will and I think this rack is solid enough we will still be using it.
Being able to mount the vehicle license plate on the carrier is a nice feature. Plate is not obscured by the bikes. I have never been stopped for that when using any other carrier, but now there won't be a reason!
I was initially concerned about the distance the plastic parts of the carrier would be from the exhaust tips on our 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2.0T. A few years back I melted a tarp on a cargo carrier while on a trip and did not want to melt an expensive bike carrier. I checked a bunch of measurements I could find online with retailers and the mfg. I emailed etrailer.com to find out what I did not know. Conner L was quick to answer my dimension questions and created an answer page; great service and I appreciated that. John Huff followed up to ensure I got what I was looking for.
I think there is plenty of clearance, about 16 inches horizontally, and the carrier is nearly 3 inches above the exhaust tips. Photos attached. We have done plenty of local trips and not noticed any affect from the exhaust.
When the carrier arrived it was well packed. One minor problem was the reflectors seemed to have fallen out of their receptacles and got stuck to the plastic bag at the bottom of the box containing the documentation. Maybe due to being in hot shipping trucks this summer. I emailed etrailer and got several responses from folks. They took my problems seriously and sought to resolve it. Great service. I was concerned the double stick tape was not tacky and no longer any good- they sent me a new set of reflectors right away. Could not ask for better service from Carole, Jesse, Nicole, and Korren.
Quality products and quality service made me a very happy customer. Although this seems like it is an expensive carrier, it is very well designed and works like a dream. Because it is so easy to use, I use it a lot more than my previous carrier. It seems like it will provide long term value in dependability and ease of use.
First the negatives: if you have a aftermarket mid-drive electric beach cruisers to load using the ramp you'll run into a bit of a problem. When loading the first one you'll bottom out mid way up the ramp, meaning the motor hits and you'll need to lift up the back end of the bike to get it up there. Then you'll need to lean the bike toward yourself to get the pedals past the upright black bar that the holders are attached to, this is a bit awkward due to the weight of the bike, the angle and height you are working at. You are probably better off just lifting this style of bike onto the carrier. When loading the second bike you can forget about using the ramp all together due to how narrow the placement is on the carrier between the two bikes. To me this carrier appears to have been designed for lightweight road bikes that have narrow profiles.
One of my cruisers has fat 3.5 inch tires. Before purchasing the carrier I did ask one of the experts on the site if I would be required to purchase the extra long tire straps. He said "NO" and that the carrier could accommodate tires up to 4-11/16, well that question has since been modified to read "YES" you do need to purchase the extra long straps.
Some positives: The ability to roll the carrier to the car is a nice feature. The way it screws to the hitch and it's ability to lock to the hitch is a plus. The bike clamps feel very secure and gives a peace of mind that your bikes are firmly in place and not going anywhere, even when parked thanks to the locking feature of the clamp.
A decent carrier with some flaws.
Found the bike carrier with ramp to be extremely easy to use, it is light maneuverable & storable. I have a four-wheel-drive full-size Chevy Silverado pick up with a Lance 8.5 over the cab camper. Using a 7 inch hitch extension, I’m able to still enter the camper with the carrier in the down position, as shown in the picture. With the camper on the truck it’s easy to get my Mt. bike And my wife’s E bike on & off the carrier with the ramp. But with the camper off the truck the ramp is almost straight up and down, the truck is not low enough, and the ramp is not long enough. So I have to put a 10” step bench underneath the ramp so that I can get the bikes on and off using the ramp. I also purchased the Swagman RV horizontal 2 bike bag. The problem with the bike bag is that the little hole that slips through the hitch receiver is not big enough to go over the wheels of the carrier. So you must cut a hole big enough (10”x12”) to expose where the ramp is stored and the carrier latch points are exposed, so that the carrier will snap back & lock in the upright position. Then the bag will fit two bikes with this bike carrier.
I'm impressed with the design of this bike rack. Thule has thought of everything in regards to safely transporting bikes, from the stablizers for the frames to the straps for the wheels. Also love the anti theft design for both the bikes and the rack itself.

I still think it’s a great project, however we learned that even using longer straps for a wide tire it’s a good idea to use additional straps to secure the bikes. Wind under bike cover caused one tire to come out of the groove dragging the handlebar.
I bought this bike rack to use with my Aventon Level ebikes. After quite a bit of research I decided on this rack due to the Aventon Level ebikes having fenders and no upper bar. Most similar style bike racks either clamp onto the tire or they clamp onto the upper bar. The Level ebike has fenders so I didn't want to risk bending the fenders. So far this bike rack is working great and I would recommend it.

We have traveled several thousand miles with our 2 e-bikes on this rack, attached to our toad, and it has worked great. The rack seems to be well built and I imagine we will get years of use from it.
Had it for about a year and love it. I think it is the best Bike Rack for Ebikes out there. It is easy to set and load the bikes plus gives excellent security with the various locking options.

Great. Think its the best and easiest to use bike rack use it with ebikes.
Excellent bike carrier that’s easy to use! I added on the longer straps to accommodate the fat tires on our ebikes, but other than that, I was able to unbox the rack and install/use it immediately. These bikes weight 63lbs apiece and this rack handled the weight with little swaying over the course of our 250 mile round trip. It might be a little pricey, but it sure gave me confidence that our bikes were safe and not going to be stolen or become hiway trash during the course of our trip.
I am a woman in her 70's who finds this bike rack so easy to use. I highly recommend it for your bike or e-bike. Every detail is well- engineered for durability and ease of use. I have owned mine for a year, and just yesterday my husband and I were talking about what a great product this is.

I love this bike rack. It is so easy to use— even for this 72 year old woman. It has great features, including a ramp, security locks, and audible snaps to let you know when your bike is securely clamped. All of these features make it possible for me to take my heavy e-bike to my favorite riding trails. Customer service is also excellent.
Love it! It's pretty sturdy but folds up into a manageable package when not in use. We've used ours a couple times to transport two ebikes hundreds of miles. The included ramp is handy, as is the fact that it folds down to give you access to your hatchback. We use ours on a 2019 Subaru Outback. It sits high enough off the ground that I don't need to remove it when pulling the Outback up onto our car trailer.
etrailer was the best place to buy this. However it became too heavy for me to handle. I sold it and purchased a QuiR Stuff rack. etrailer did not carry that brand at the time.
Used the kit for the first time today. Hitch mechanism is impressive and easy. Stabilized the rack greater than my expectations. Mounted a 60# Harley Davidson eBike and secured it with equally impressive hold points.
Was cautious at first of course and drove only a mile then rechecked. Everything was still solid. Then I drove 2.5 hours and again every hold point was secure.
I’m glad I did three things; researched racks here and elsewhere, watched ETrailer’s videos on the two products I’ve chosen, and decided to buy this one. I chose to purchase via Etrailer because of the awesome videos. Price was similar but the vender’s effort is multiple levels beyond other vendors.
Box to hitch 1 minute.
2 ebikes and ready to roll 10 minutes.
A whole new world has opened up. This is absolutely the easiest, most versatile rack ever. At 65, my days of putting a light bike on a roof rack are over. This will handle almost anything.
The service and attention to detail was amazing. The etrailer team seems like friends at the local bike shop. BUY IT HERE!
Gotta go, mountains to ride.

This is the one. Fast light durable easy. I can carry with one hand. Fast lock into receiver Bikes load fast. Don’t buy that clunky rack that requires you to lie under your car to set it up. You will USE this rack, not store it. No hesitation, load and go. It will take longer to fill your water bottle than it does to load this rack. No wobble. No frustration.

This rack has hauled our bikes many times now and it remains our favorite bike rack. The only downside of this rack is the extended loading ramp is a bit on the flimsy side and has been known to fall down while the bike is being loaded.
