With the SuperHitch Original's 2 receivers, you can tow a trailer and carry a hitch-mounted bike rack or cargo carrier at the same time. And if you have a truck bed camper, this hitch has pre-drilled mounting points for TorkLift's super-sturdy camper tie-towns (sold separately). You can also add one of TorkLift's SuperTruss hitch extensions (sold separately) to extend the top receiver of the SuperHitch so that it clears your camper, allowing you to tow your trailer while your camper's installed.

Truck Bed Camper Compatibility

TorkLift is known for their truck camper tie-down systems and other camper accessories, so it just makes sense that they would have camper enthusiasts in mind when designing a trailer hitch. Each SuperHitch is built with integrated mounting points for TorkLift camper tie-downs, making it easier than ever to get a quality tie-down system for your slide-in camper.

TorkLift SuperTruss in SuperHitch

The dual-receiver design of the SuperHitch also makes it easy to tow with your truck bed camper in place. The SuperTruss line of high-capacity hitch extenders is specially designed to extend the hitch receiver back far enough to clear your bed-mounted camper, while still allowing for an excellent towing capacity. An ordinary hitch extender can dramatically reduce your towing capacity. But each SuperTruss extension forms such a solid connection with the SuperHitch that the setup is able to maintain one of the highest weight capacities in the industry. When used with a standard weight distribution system, the setup can maintain up to a 10,000-lb weight limit, even with an extension that is 60" long. As a result, you can clear almost any truck bed camper and still do some heavy-duty towing.

Dual Receivers for Maximum Versatility

With the SuperHitch from TorkLift, you can tow your trailer and use a hitch-mounted bike rack or cargo carrier at the same time. This is thanks to the dual-receiver design of the SuperHitch.

Most trailer hitches have a single receiver. Typically, you can find an adapter or extension piece that will slide into your hitch to give you 2 receivers, but these adapters dramatically reduce both your towing capacity and your tongue weight, limiting how much you can tow, as well as how much you can carry with a bike rack or cargo carrier. Each SuperHitch is specially constructed to maintain a high weight capacity so that you can use the 2 receivers without sacrificing towing or carrying ability.

  • Can I Install the TorkLift SuperHitch Magnum without Removing My Camper Tie Downs?
I checked with my contact over at TorkLift and he mentioned that in almost every case they have encountered, the TorkLift SuperHitch Magnum # TLC1208-30 will occupy the space that your current camper tie downs are mounted so the camper tie downs would interfere with installation. In order to install the SuperHitch Magnum you will need to remove your camper tie downs and attach them to the dedicated mounting spots on the SuperHitch.

  • Will the TorkLift SuperHitch Magnum Work with my Hellwig Big Wig Sway Bar?
No. The TorkLift SuperHitch Magnum # TLC1208-30 will not be hindered by your Hellwig Big Wig sway bar; it's actually designed to be used with these types of aftermarket suspension enhancements, so you won't have any problems using both together.

  • 36 inch Long Hitch Extension for Use with 2013 Chevy Silverado Towing 7500 lb Trailer
For towing a trailer that heavy and needing a hitch extender that long you would have to use the Torklift hitch extender part # TLE1536 that you referenced. To use this extender you would also need to install a Torklift hitch like the part # TLC1208 for if you have a long bed truck or part # TLC1209 for if you have a short bed truck. There isn't a similar length extender with the needed weight capacity that would work directly with your Class IV hitch.

  • Heavy Duty Trailer Hitch Receiver Fitment On a 2012 Chevy Silverado 2500HD with Utility Bed
I reached out to Torklift to see if they had any fitment information on their SuperHitch Original Trailer Hitch Receiver # TLC1208 for your 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 with a utility box. They said while they did not have any fits for different utility beds that the top receiver on their hitch mounts in the same location as the factory receiver. So if you still have the factory receiver on with your utility bed you will be able to use this receiver. If the receiver was removed to make...

  • Strong Trailer Hitch Recommendation For 2012 GMC Sierra 2500HD
The toughest trailer hitch you can buy for your 2012 Sierra 2500 is the TorkLift Class V Hitch which we sell in two different configurations - the # TLC1209-30 for 6.5 ft beds and the # TLC1208-30 for 8 ft beds. This hitch has a capacity of 2500 lbs TW / 20000 lbs GTW that can expand to 3000 lbs TW / 30000 lbs GTW with a compatible weight distribution system. The hitch has both a 2" and a 2 1/2" receiver, so along with the added receiver tube sizing option, it's able to tow both a trailer...

  • How To Obtain 60" Hitch Extension for 2011 GMC Sierra 2500/3500 for Towing with In-Bed Camper
The only trailer hitch extension available in a 60" length is the TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension part # TLE1560 which then must be used with the TorkLift SuperHitch Original Trailer Hitch Receiver part # TLC1209 for models with 6-1/2' bed or part # TLC1208 for 8' long beds. That said, this is going to be your only option. It will provide you with a 5,000 lb gross trailer weight rating. You'll also need the TorkLift Wiring Harness Extension part # TLW6060.

Yes! With the TorkLift SuperHitch Original # TLC1208 installed on your 2013 Chevy Silverado 3500 and using the 48 inch SuperTruss extension # TLE1548 the hitch will have a capacity of 6,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 600 pounds tongue weight. The estimated combined weight of your trailer loaded with the tractor is 5,000 pounds with a tongue weight that will likely be under 600 pounds so this set up will work for your application. To use a SuperTruss Hitch Extender part # TLE1542 which has a 42 inch length and tow a trailer that weighs 5,000 to 7,000 you'd have to have the Torklift Superhitch part # TLC1208 installed on your 2011 GMC Sierra 3500. • Hitch Adapter Or Extension Compatible With Weight Distribution System
The use of an extension like the Brophy Hitch Reducer and Extender - 2-1/2" to 2" Trailer Hitch - 6" Long # HR26 will not work with a weight distribution system. The use of an adapter like this reduces the tongue weight by 1/3 to 1/2 depending on the actual extender and is not intended for use with weight distribution. If you just need the reducer for your system, I recommend the Curt Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve - 2-1/2" to 2" # C45405 which will make things compatible as long as you...

Using a hitch extender in the hitch on your 2012 GMC 2500 reduces the towing capacity by 50 percent. Unless you have a hitch installed that has a towing capacity of 20,000 lbs or more like the TorkLift Trailer Hitch, part # TLC1208-30 and an extension like part # TLE1524 or part # TLE1536 along with a weight distribution system on your truck I cannot recommend using an extension of any kind.

If you use the Reese Elite hitch extender part # RP45292 in your 2-1/2 inch hitch at the 24 inch length with a weight distribution system you'd have an 8,000 lb capacity. That would be the only way to get an extension with the needed capacity. For a properly rated weight distribution system then you'd need the Reese Steadi-Flex kit part # RP66560 which has integrated sway control and you'd be set.
