Video Transcript for TorkLift Weight Distribution TLM9010 Review

Today we're going to review part number TLM9010. This is the torque lift, 12 and 1/2 inch adjustable shank for the torque lift super hitch Everest weight distribution system and a 30,000 pound weight capacity. This shank is a heavy duty sturdy shank, which will slide in to the torque lift super hitch duel receiver trailer hitch, and it provides a mounting point for the Everest weight distribution head. Again, this is designed to work with the torque lift, 30,000 pound Everest weight distribution system, which is part number TLWD1000. We do sell that separately on our website. This is an adjustable design, which allows for drop or rise to fit your application. It is a powder-coated steel, which is very sturdy and corrosion resistant.

When you do install this into the duel receiver trailer hitch, it does require a hitch pinning clip or a hitch lock. If you already have one, you can use it, if not, we do sell those separately on our website. This part is made in the USA, and again the application is designed to slide in to the super hitch, the torque lift super hitch 2 inch by 2 inch duel trailer hitch receiver. Weight capacity on the shank when used with weight distribution would be 30,000 pound gross trailer weight capacity, and 3,000 pound tongue weight capacity, when used in just a regular weight carrying situation would be 20,000 pounds gross trailer weight capacity and 2,500 pounds tongue weight capacity. I'll give you a few measurements on this. Overall length is going to be right at 12 and 3/4 inches, the height is going to be right at 12 and 1/2 inches, and the bolt holes for the adjustments, there's eight of them, they are all at a diameter of 1 inch bolt hole diameter. That should do it for the review on part number TLM9010, the torque lift 12 and 1/2 inch adjustable shank for the torque lift super hitch Everest weight distribution system with a 30,000 pound weight capacity..

Been pulling a large heavy trailer for a year now almost every weekend and am still impressed with this hitch ! Its beefy ! No worries about having the strength to safely and easily tow heavy and or large loads !

  • Does Torklift Everest Weight Distribution Shank Fit Other Brand Systems
Unlike most other weight distribution shanks out there the part # TLM9010 does not fit the standard dimensions like you are looking for. This has wider holes for the head to attach to that are spaced further apart. For a similar shank that has 9 adjustment holes we have the Reese part # RP69FR.

The distance between the two shanks of the Adjustable Shank # TLM9010 is 1 inch. The holes of this are larger than most weight distribution shanks at 1 inch whereas other systems use 3/4 inch holes.

  • Parts Needed to Tow Destination Trailer with 2021 Ram 3500 and TorkLift Everest WDH
Yes. In order to bumper tow a trailer of that size and use a TorkLift Everest system like the # TLWD1000 you'll need to remove the factory hitch and install a dual receiver like the TorkLift SuperHitch Magnum Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class V - 2-1/2" and 2" # TLD1111-30. This dual hitch receiver provides the support needed to tow a trailer with that tongue weight and GVWR. In addition to the new hitch receiver for your vehicle, the SuperHitch Magnum does not come with a...

  • Can Brackets for TorkLift SuperHitch Everest be Cut and Welded to Larger Trailer Frame
I reached out to my contact at TorkLift and he said that the brackets for the TorkLift SuperHitch Everest Weight Distribution System # TLWD1000 measure just under 4" when it comes to width. He did say that if the brackets don't fit your trailer frame then you can indeed cut off that smaller "ear" that sits on the inside of the frame and weld the brackets on. Attached is a photo he sent me showing where the welds need to be, and they would need to be done by a professional. Please...

  • Recommended Weight Distribution System for Use with 2-1/2 Hitch on 2021 GMC High Sierra 3500
It sounds like you're looking for a new weight distribution system to replace your old Reese system that's only rated for up to 16000-lbs and is designed for use on a 2" hitch. If you aren't going to be towing a larger trailer than you would have with your old truck you could just swap out the shanks to allow you to use your existing weight distribution hitch with the new truck; you'd want to use the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank - 2-1/2" Hitch - 10" Rise/6" Drop # EQ90-02-4900, which is...

I recommend going with the TorkLift SuperHitch Magnum Trailer Hitch Receiver # TLF1002-30 that is custom fit for your 2002 Ford F-350 Super Duty. There is no drilling or welding required to install this receiver. The hitch has dual receivers, one 2-1/2" and the other is 2". An adapter sleeve is included to reduce the...

We have the Everest Weight Distribution System from Torklift part # TLWD1000 that can be used with 2,400 lbs of tongue weight like you have. The shank you'd need to use this with is the part # TLM9010 and the hitch you'd need to have installed on your 2020 Chevy Silverado 3500 is the # TL74FR. There isn't a different option out there that would work so this would be only option.

First, you will need a trailer hitch that is capable of the weight of your trailer with the dozer on it. The only hitch that will fit your 2002 Ford F-350 and has the capacity is TorkLift hitch # TLF1002-30. In order to get it to its maximum capacity (30K) you would have to use the Everest weight distribution # TLWD1000. Then you would need a shank, # TLM9010 or # TLM9011, and a ball, # C40085. • Recommended Weight Distribution for Trailer Tongue Weight of 2194 lbs.
When you use a weight distribution system, it does not add more weight to the ball or the coupler, It disperses the weight across the frame so the trailer will handle better. This doesn't mean you can use a coupler rated for less weight than what your trailer can handle. Couplers aren't normally rated for tongue weight, so are you sure it doesn't specify 21000 lbs towing capacity versus 2100 lbs tongue weight capacity? Either way, you know your loaded tongue weight is 2194 lbs so if...
