Today on our boat show we're going to install the tow ready safety chains with quick links, part number TR63035. Our safety chains are 72 inches long and have a capacity of 5,000 pounds. Another particular application has had a foldaway jack installed so we're going to need some longer safety chains to get all the way back to the original manufacturer's tongue before the cut for the foldaway. Now, you can see we've got a lot going on in this area. We've got our extra long chains so we can get back here where we can get a good solid hold on the manufacturer's frame. We're going to go up about an inch from the bottom of the frame, make a pilot hole and then enlarge it enough to get a half inch bolt that will go through the frame and get secured on the inside with a flange nut. I'm also going add a washer here on the outside to uphold the chain.
Now, we just need to go ahead and drill our holes. Now, with one side done I'll go over to the other side and repeat the same process. Now, to get our hardware inside our trailer tongue we'll go ahead and remove the safety clip and pin. Fold the coupler back and expose the open channel. We'll take the last open link, our bolt, go into the frame, and then put a nut on the inside of the frame channel. Take the last open link on our safety chain, put our bolt and washer through it.
Then, it will go into our pre-drilled hole. Before I put it in the pre-drilled hole I'm going to go ahead and use a wrench and pliers to get my flange nut inside the channel lined up with my pre-drilled hole. Now, once we have them both installed and tightened down by hand we'll go ahead and run them down and secure them. Next, I'll go ahead and put my trailer coupler back in place. Our safety pin in position. Now, our trailer coupler's back in place.
Let's take the safety chain and bring them down towards the trailer coupler. Depending on the vehicle ball mount and other bearing accessories that you're using to hook your trailer up to your tow vehicle will depend on the length of safety chain you want hanging out the front of your coupler. Then, once it's determined you could use a pair of bolt cutters or even a cut-off wheel to cut one link in half and just use the remaining sections of your chain. Now, to secure to your vehicle, provided with the kit will be the quick links. Simply, open up the quick link, install the safety chain and then put the quick link over the chain hole down on your hitch, close it up and your new safety chains are installed and your ready to head on down the road. There you have it for the install and operation of our tow ready, towing safety chains, part number TR63035 on our boat trailer. .

I want to thank you for all your help with my trailer you were more helpful than you realize. So this is my trailer for a 22' Flats Cat shallow draft Catamaran. I totally dismantled my trailer and buffed by hand with a wire buffer and sand blasted in some spots and applied multiple coats of some very expensive galvanize paint (Z.R.C.). I installed all new C. E. Smith Carpet (about 80'), seven new LED waterproof lights, new springs, new equalizers, new tongue jack, new wench, new safety chain, new chain brackets, all new SS hardware and a 35' long wiring harness.
I was able to send only one review with a picture of the safety chain and brackets. I'm having a little trouble with the rest..oh some of these items were bought locally or from your competitors, until I found ETRAILER. Your prices were cheaper for the exact same things. Your helpful how to videos were helpful. And Rose, your personal helpful knowledge made my buying experience very pleasant, I actually enjoyed talking to you! Thanks to ETRAILER and specifically to Rose G.
Received safety chain w/quick links (TR63035) and fold-away coupler hinge kit for 3" x 3" trailer tongue weld on (FHDPW330300) within a couple of days. Great service....
Trailer hitch (adjustable height) works great and the new safety chains are high quality. Thanks guys!
Replaced old rusty chains with these. Old ones were also to short. They haven't rusted yet although the trailer does not see salt water just brackish. Good chain for the money. Always pleased w/etrailer.
Great chains. Solid and very heavy. Never needed them as they are intended but if the trailer had ever come off I think they would have done the job
2 work perfect with a swing away hitch. Just what I needed.
Heavy duty
Just what I expected. Will use for towing my 1987 Samurai.
