Is this right For you? Product Expert Kathleen M says:

Yes, if you:

  • Prefer a solid white lid that lets in light without the sun shining through and heating up your camper
  • Boondock often and just need something basic to move some air without eating up much power
  • Have an off-white interior and want a garnish ring that matches

No, if you:

  • Stay in areas with frequent rain and don't want to risk damage to the inside of your trailer
  • Have a 20' long or larger RV and need something with more oomph to pull more air out
  • Find it difficult to reach up to the ceiling to turn a knob or switch
This roof vent uses a 12-volt fan to circulate air in motor homes and enclosed trailers, keeping interiors ventilated without compromising security. Wedge-shaped, white plastic vent cover opens and closes with a hand-operated crank. Lowest Prices for the best rv vents and fans from Ventline. Five stars to E-Trailer for processing my order same day and getting it on UPS Ground where it took the three days to get delivered in time for my install on the weekend. I'm assuming this product deserves 5 stars as well since it is what it was advertised to be. My only minor ding is for the two missing screws that are needed to hold the screen in place. The $20 for the 'installation kit' shipped a tube of urethane caulking two sets of screws, one for the mounting topside (plenty, thank you) and the bottom ones for the trim. But did not see the short 1/2"? for the screen. I had to use my old ones, one of which fell down a floor vent so I need to hit up a hardware store for it. The vent went in with little effort. Just took my time scraping off the old caulking and used plumbers putty, instead of the caulking for under the flange (in case I have to rip this up again). The tube provided just enough for a thick coat of goo to cover the flange and where it meets the roof. I have a rubber roof, so this was perfect. I'll rate the other things I purchased once I install and use them.

How quiet is the fan? We have a new fan and low is extremely noisy. Is this because the blades are plastic?
-- comment by: chris - 05/31/2015
Chris, I cant comment on the actual use of the fan since I have not hooked it up to a battery to test it yet. We were planning on using it the week after the install, but stuff came up. Sorry I cant answer it. If youre patient, Ill respond once I do get around to it.
-- comment by: Eric B - 06/04/2015
The vent is working fine. It makes about the same amount of noise as the original one did. The knob is a little shorter than the original crank, so a little harder to reach for my wife, whos shorter than me. The vent works very good. Just ordered another one minus the fan for the front of the trailer.

by:

Good replacement. Has held up well. Replaced on a metal roof and original was riveted down so a little harder to install, but doable.

by:

Thought this vent would be more beefy for the price...

by:

We ordered these products to replace vent covers that were recently damaged in a hail storm. From the moment I placed the order, the staff at etrailer.com stayed in contact with me via email to let me know exactly when we could expect shipment. The vent covers were received in good order.

This vent fit my need perfectly to replace a damaged, rusty and irreparable one in my 50 year old newly purchased camper. Etrailer.com was easy to find and order and they were very prompt with my order. The vent was easy to install and once I sealed it according to their instructions and with additional roof work being completed I have no more roof leaks! I also have a good looking, easy to use vent for my camper. I will be doing more business with this company in the future as I tackle other repairs on my camper. Thanks etrailer.com!

by:

Not so impressed with the lack of insulation on the connections to the motor and the wires that will be exposed to UV the motor looks less than adequate but time will tell.

by:

I was a bit disappointed with this. It appears well made, but the material is thin and the fan is too small to be really effective. I think I'll return it and pay more for a better one. I like simple, but in this case it looks like I'll have to get more bells and whistles to get a more robust unit

This is a great vent/fan. It went in quickly and hooked up easily. I replaced a vent without the fan, but my rig was wired for a dc fan. so it was an easy hookup. A good quality unit, fan is quiet and works well. The package was delivered in 3 days, 1 day ahead of schedule. I will definitely use etrailer again.

by:

The Ventline Ventadome Trailer Roof Vent w/12V Fan worked out very well. The installation was quick and easy. The fan operates as expected and the new style knob works well to open the lid.

by:

I had a very good experience with Etrailer.com. Sales person was knowledgeable with products, listened to My needs and quickly set up my order. I received my parts and only had one problem, I had base on a vent bent which was quickly straightened. I will definitely order all parts I can from etrailer. I will send pictures finished project, I’m replacing complete floor and roof. I decided to go ahead and replace all vents!

Thank You!

by:

The interior trim was not correct for me application. The flange was not tall enough and did not cover the roof joists. I had to re-use the old one to cover the gap from the ceiling to the vent.

by:

Excellent product! Easy to install and works like a charm. Particularly liked being able to cut the trim piece to fit depth of ceiling. The hardest part was removing the old one! Will buy other products from this company. Great service, quick delivery, exactly what was ordered. Well done!

Thank you,

Charles Lewis

She was very helpful and courteous. I will definitely be buying from etrailer again and telling my friends about it.

I was happy to find the roof vents I needed on etrailer. Other sites did not have them. Called their number and was greeted by very courteous and knowledgeable person. Very helpful. I ordered two vents and they were at my front door 2 days later. Can’t recommend them enough. Their web site is on my homepage now for future part needs.

by:

The Ventline Roof Vent is a very good vent. I used it on my enclosed cargo trailer. Should I ever need another roof vent, without a doubt, it would be Ventline.

I really liked that you kept up with the shipment and you were so very informative concerning the delivery. I will update as complete the installation.

This comes with a garnish that is 2-1/8 inches tall so you'd only really need to lightly trim it shorter for it to match perfectly to your roof thickness.
