Specs:
The TwoTimer lets you carry 2 bikes on the back of your vehicle. The platform-style design makes it easy to load and unload your bikes, and ratcheting hooks and sliding wheel cradles accommodate bikes of different sizes. The rack tilts down - even with bikes loaded - for cargo area access and folds up against your vehicle when it's not in use. And an anti-rattle hitch lock secures the rack to your vehicle.
Quick, Easy-to-Load Design
This rack lets you quickly and easily load your bikes. Low load height requires minimal lifting. And adjustable hooks and wheel cradles hold bikes of different shapes and sizes.
The upright mast has 2 ratcheting hooks that move up and down with the push of a button. This allows you to carry 2 bikes of different heights and frame styles - like children's bikes and bikes with fenders. The hooks firmly grip your bikes by the top tubes, and they have a rubberized coating that protects your bike frames from scratches and scuffs.
Both hooks can be rotated out of the way for easier bike loading. Just push in the small buttons on the hooks to rotate them.
You can also replace a short hook with a long hook or vice versa. This gives you the ability to choose where you want to mount your bikes. An additional short hook (Y80526 - sold separately) or long hook (Y80525 - sold separately) lets you mount a shorter or taller than normal bike on the rack.
Sturdy, adjustable wheel cradles let you carry bikes of different lengths. Use the hand knobs to slide each cradle to the desired position and tighten. Ratchet straps allows you to tighten down wheels of different widths to the cradles.
Insert the straps into built-in slots on the cradles to keep them out of the way while you're loading your bikes.
If you want to carry a fat bike, the cradles can carry tires up to 4-1/2" wide with the addition of extra-long straps (Y02470 - sold separately).
The TwoTimer's tilting design makes it easier to access your vehicle's rear cargo area and to load your bikes. Just pull the spring-loaded pin at the base of the rack.
You can tilt the rack with both bikes mounted. Make sure the heaviest bike is loaded closest to your vehicle.
Easily fold the rack up against the back of your vehicle when it's not being used. Just pull the pin at the base of the upright mast to fold it down, and use the spring-loaded pin on the rack base to fold the rack against your vehicle.
Use the adapter sleeve to convert the rack's 1-1/4" shank for use in your 2" hitch.
An anti-rattle hitch pin and lock are included to secure the TwoTimer to your vehicle. The threaded pin reduces movement of the rack in your hitch and lets you enjoy a quiet ride.
To secure your bikes to the rack, you can use a standard cable lock (sold separately). Use the loop on the base of the rack as an anchor point for the cable.
The TwoTimer includes an integrated bottle opener at the end of the rack.

Transport bikes of all sizes and styles, from mountain bikes to kids bikes, with this hitch bike rack. Ratcheting hooks on the center masts hold your bikes by their frames. Tilts down with bikes loaded for easy access to rear cargo. We bought the Yakima Two Timer for our cruiser-style, townie bikes. Assembly was easy, using the rack is also easy. I have a Yakima Tube Top adapter for my ladies-style bike, but ended up not needing it because the hooks are so versatile. We immediately took our bikes to the beach. Only problem is that after only a couple days, one of the hook pads has a hole worn all the way through, and then the metal hook rubbed against my husband's bike and scuffed the bike's paint. I wonder if sand was the culprit or if there's a defect with the padding. I'm contacting Yakima to see if I can get a replacement pad. Overall, it's a great rack, though. Photos are attached.
Pretty solid bike rack, although wheel trays are somewhat flimsy and strap connectors in them fall apart after two years.
I originally placed an order for another rack but it was backordered and a etrailer rep recommended this Yakima and I love it! It was easy to assemble and leaves a lot of space in front of the trunk. It looks sturdy and didn't hear any rattling while driving.
This is the second Yakima bike rack of this style that we have had. The reason I gave it four stars and not five is that the rubber padding on the upright bar that holds the bicycle in place wore within the first few times of use. We used electrical tape around what remained of the rubber padding so that the bikes wouldn't get scratched. The rack sticks out far enough from the car to allow the trunk to open without being in the way (the old one didn't) and is so simple the use. Really have enjoyed this rack and the biking we've been able to use because of it!
I've had this rack for 18 months but it feels like longer--because I am already sick of it. The design is ok, but it's pretty low quality and I expected more from a major brand. I use it about once a week for my mtb. Here are my complaints: (1) Overall, too many plastic parts; (2) I broke part of the buckle mechanism within a month of having it. I was able to epoxy it back together, but not happy about how easily it broke; (3) The foam stuff on the part that grabs the top tube wore out within a few months. I didn't notice until it was too late, and ended up rubbing paint off of my the top tube of my new bike. So I am ticked about that. (4) The rack is barely wide enough to accommodate my large frame enduro bike. Be warned that an extra large frame might not fit at all. (5) It's a pain to move those sliders around to accommodate different sized bikes. Overall, I wish I had spent more money on a nicer rack. On the other hand, if you won't be using your rack much you might consider spending less--the quality probably won't be too much worse. So I don't really see a place for this rack.
The Yakima bike rack is a great product but more importantly is the customer service and customer caring I experienced with etailer.com. I highly recommend doing business with etailer.com, they are my go to company!
Excellent product! This is solid and I experience little sway when bikes are mounted and it was delivered timely as they said. Free shipping and a good price from this company. I use it for my fat tire ebike that weighs 65#, it can hold 90#. I place my bike closer to the vehicle and it is easy to put on. 4/5 because the wheel tie downs in the box were too small. The pictures and descriptions are misleading and suggest it holds a fat bike. I had to go buy the extra large tie downs, annoying.
I had no problems installing the hitch receiver, and I can recommend it for use with my bike carrier.
Thanks for the follow up Steven. The # Y02470 straps are recommended for use with a fatbike. The hooks are avialable as part # 8880523

Great carrier. Allows the hatchback on the Xterra to open without removing the bikes. Great service from e trailer
I haven't had a chance to use the bikes as much this last year, but I really like the Two Timer Hitch. It supports the bikes from the wheels so no swaying around. It is very easy to install and use. Bikes on and off are a breeze. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great way to transport their bikes. I use.it on my pickup and Jeep Cherokee.
Owned many bike racks, this is by far the best !very easy to use, quick on and off bikes never touch no more paint being scratched, this bike rack is worth every cent I paid for it..
I’ve owned this rack for a year now, and use it about 3-4 times a week. It has not held up well. It rusts very easily and is very loose on the hitch. I’m constantly watching the bikes bounce around on the back. I do not find this up to Yakima standards.
We have used our bike rack/hitch several times and it has performed well. Very stable on the road, and easy to get into the back of our Outback while it is installed. Assembly was easy and only found one thing the instructions that I had to clarify. I would recommend this product.
Overall the product is excellent. It is easy to load and unload bikes, and I just keep it on my car. Hatchback on my car opens, no problem. I did have an issue about 3 months in where the fastners came lose (which is why 4 stars not 5), and the bike came off. Yakima not only gave me new parts, but offered to fix my bike too. Luckily, bike was undamaged. Also, the bolt that keeps the rack on to the hitch needs to be super, super tight, or it loosens if you leave the rack on the car. It can't actually come off, but it wiggles. I had a guy tighten it correctly for me, and it hasn't wiggled since. I pretty much love this rack. I wanted easy and secure bike loading and wanted to leave the rack on all the time. This works for me.
Now that the snow is finally gone, I was able to use my Yakima bike rack. So far, I am impressed with the rack and its stability. I transported my bike about five miles with the rack using just the tire straps and middle bar and the bike was secure during the drive. If I were going on the highway, I would recommend using a strap or cable to lock the bike to the rack. Ordering through eTrailer.com was easy, and the product arrived as expected. I am very happy with the purchase. Thanks!
Great platform bike rack. Easy to assem ble.
Excellent! This bike rack by Yakima is incredibly useful in so many ways. Compact, versatile, heavy duty, easy to use and set up. It is one of the best bike racks you can get for your vehicle. I highly recommend this purchase! A+
Very easy to install; very sturdy. Perhaps would be a little more functional if the top brackets that hold the bikes down could swing out of the way for easy loading. Easily carries two bikes and MUCH easier to manage than a roof rack! Etrailer recommendations for my vehicle were spot on.
After researching several different brands of bike racks I choose the Yakima TwoTimer. So happy with my decision! There was very little assembly required and the instructions were easy to follow. The rack is very sturdy and easy to use. The final test will come when we take our bikes on a several hundred mile trip this summer. I have no doubt it will live up to the test.
We pirchased this rack as my wife got an e-bike, which is heavier than a traditional bike. She loves the bike and her speed and distances have increased exponentially. The rack has done everything we wanted and loading and unloading her bike are easy for me.
Rack is a little heavy for my Accord, but keeps both bikes secure, and is easy for placing and removing the bikes.
Package came on time and product was as good as advertised. We have one of those heavy electric bikes and this produce handled it without difficulty.
The bike rack has performed very well no problems. It's easy to take off and on and secures the bikes well.
